Avatar f tn I then lost about 10-15 lbs in 1 1/2 months by eating better and drinking more water and using the treadmill (run/walk) 5 (+/-) time a week for about an hour or so (4-5 miles). Just because. I came back to my office job 1 year ago (where a lot of women who like to eat work as well). I was 175 lbs when I came back. Now I weigh 205...Thats 30 lbs in one year. I joined a gym in February and then hired a trainer in March. We've been working together for about a month now.
Avatar f tn I would recommend you add a weight lifting portion to your workouts and change up your cardio... the stair climber is the BEST machine for cardio in my opinion. Does your gym have classes? I would also recommend doing one or a couple in addition to your regular work outs. Muscle confusion is proven sucessfull in aiding people to lose weight. If you do the same thing everytime you are not challenging yourself.

Avatar n tn run at 6mph for 2 minutes then run at 3mph or rest for 2 minutes) will be more effective in losing weight than if I ran or walked at a steady pace.Is there any truth to this>?
797971 tn?1238008431 I also am curious as to on the days you are only on the treadmill for 20 minutes are you going to go at the same pace or will it be a higher intensity speed. You shouldn't really under go your limit. You should start out at a small minute amount 10-15 and increase your minutes over time. Say Monday you go for 10 minutes. Tuesday you should do 15, Wednesday 20. ect ect. Until you get up to an hour. Once at an hour you change your speed/incline to something more then what you have been.
Avatar n tn I'm 16, 5'8", male, and 230 lbs. I just started using this app a few days ago because I'm just fed up with gaining weight. I'm not gaining very quickly, only about 15 lbs. over the last two years, but I'm not getting any taller and I'm ready to lose it. Anyway, I've been coming in well under my calorie limit and I'm feeling very optimistic.
Avatar f tn ) sorry your having a hard time with your weight , losing weight and keeping it off can be hard . i think the reason your not seeing results is because your yo yo dieting your confusing your body you dont eat so your body holds on to everything then you get and you gai it back. you have to train your body.
Avatar f tn My workout includes the eliptical on high resistance, occassionally the treadmill and sometimes weight training for my arms. I have not been able to lose anymore wieght and am wondering what I should be doing differently. I have been trying to loose around 30 pounds for a while now and have not been able to lose any weight. Any suggestions would be helpful. thank you!
Avatar m tn Ok so I have tried everything I can think of to lose weight and I have finally come to the conclusion that no miracle drugs will ever help me unless I am ready to help myself. I asked for a treadmill for Christmas and I have a few work out videos that I am thinking of using but I have no willpower or motivation whatsoever. I work at a job where I am required to sit at least 8 hours a day and the only exercise I get is to and from the car and going to lunch.
Avatar f tn As long as you are losing the weight the healthy way, you will get the results you want, without gaining it back. Don't give up! You can do it!
1285110 tn?1420147378 Yes, the WiiFit is an excellent tool for losing weight. I do have a treadmill and actually really like it -- I put in my ear buds and crank up my MP3 player, which is loaded with my favorite music. I also love walking in the streets and have been doing that (3-6 miles/day) for the past 3 months, with my "winter neighbor". She's now gone back to her home state and I'm no longer walking every day, because my hubby doesn't think it's safe to do so alone.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am 36yrs old and weigh 265lbs. My doctor put me on a low carb/no sugar diet. Last month, I faithfully exercised doing The Firm DVD's 5 days a week and walking at least 30 min. 5-6 days a week. I also stuck to the eating plan all month, with the exception of 2 days. The scale only moved (up and down) within a 3lb range. I am very discouraged. I've lost weight before using Weight Watchers. I haven't exercised like this in years....
Avatar m tn Skipping any of the food components is not considered healthy. Also when aiming at losing weight the protein intake may be slightly increased and the carbohydrate intake slightly lowered. The calorie requirement should also be adjusted for ones physical activities as well. Lower than adequate calorie intake can also cause weight gain, due to the stress hormones kicking in. Start with a healthy breakfast, moderate lunch and light dinner. Also keep a track of calorie intake and your work out.
Avatar m tn Its the treadmill stuff that *****. What other things on the treadmill i can do?
Brachiosaurus for cardio if I do treadmill one week I change to stairclimber the following week... The science is confusing the body.. that confusing forces the change in weight loss..
Avatar n tn When focusing on weight loss instead of measuring on a scale try measuring yourself with a tape measure and see the inches come off. It is common the inches go first before the weight drops off. Next I would look at your diet, how many meals a day? Portion size? % of fat, carbs, protein consuming in a day approx? Do you et late at night? Are you eating to many calories for your body? How much sodium are you taking in as that can cause you to retain water?
Avatar n tn Exercise is a way of life that brings your body to good health while losing weight or mantaining weight. 1-2 lbs is a reasonable weight loss goal per week not much more. Remember 1 lbs of fat is 3500 calories so you will have to burn that much calories in order to lose just 1 lb of fat. Be patient is it happens slowly.
649848 tn?1534633700 I did Biggest Loser, Yoga for Weight Loss, one day, and spent 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. My legs are sore, today, so I won't push, but will do the treadmill again, tomorrow. So, how about you? Did you meet your goal for the week? If so, congratulations. If not, is there some way we can help you? Remember: We win by losing -- weight!! Wishing everyone a wonderful successful week.
Avatar f tn Also keep a track of calorie intake and your work out. At the gym you can begin with light work such as using a treadmill or a cross-trainer. Gradually you may increase the work load. Best results can be obtained with rotating between various activities. You may seek professional help of a dietician or a trainer for the same. Hope this helps. Take care!

Avatar m tn I go to the gym about 3 to 4 times a week. I always use the same treadmill and most times my heart rate is 150 at its max, but sometimes it goes as high as 180 and takes forever get down to 100 and i dont understand why.
Avatar f tn I have not changed my diet, go on a treadmill most days of the week, eat well. I lost 75 pounds after my children in the past so I know how to keep weight to a minimum. What I am doing worked in the past. Now it seems the weight is out of control. And the biggest frustration to me is my doctors attitude about it Oh you must be eating too much or calories in vs calories out. He is so unsympathetic to me and does not seem to care that my thyroid is not normal still.
