Avatar n tn The National Sleep Foundation reports that people who sleep less than 6 hours each night have a higher body mass index than people who sleep 8 or more hours. While sufficient sleep is important for anyone attempting to lose weight, it is particularly vital for those who suffer from hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism leads to fatigue and sluggishness, which leads to two problems.
1519805 tn?1291058650 As you mature, it will be more and more difficult to lose weight. However, large amounts of weight gain--with no change in diet or activity--usually hints at a medical condition. So make sure you rule those out first. First of all, there's nothing easy or quick about losing weight. I'm so frustrated with commercials and billboards that promise fast results. A fat camp means you'll lose weight while at camp, but then what happens when you get home?
Avatar f tn Well I wasnt planning on it, but the losing weight sounds great, I also heard it delays your menstrual cycles! So im getting pretty sold on it.
729886 tn?1232662881 I really don't want to turn this into a lecture but I have pretty strong opinions about diet pills and I'll just say I really don't love the idea that you're taking Phentermine. I'm very wary of any type of diet pill (with the exception of Alli maybe) and a lot of them are very dangerous. Not to mention, diet pills are a short term solution.
Avatar f tn Omg. I'm need to.try need things because some days he sleep some he don't he will be 6 weeks.
978106 tn?1285108401 Sounds like water retention. It doesn't seem possible to gain weight with what you're eating, unless you have a thyroid condition or some other disorder such as Type II diabetes, which can complicate matters. As for exercise, get in what you can. Take the stairs, park far away and walk to the store, school, etc. Or call up a friend and take a stroll around the neighborhood. You don't have to kill yourself to get a decent amount of exercise. If you can exercise, by all means, do.
10286987 tn?1410261849 Birth control pills can cause weight gain. You should talk to your parents about getting a different type of birth control.
11696213 tn?1420470907 Anyone else losing weight? Im not throwing up or anything. I actually feel fantastic dont feel pregnant at all. Im a bigger girl and have been eating healthy (more then usual) and im dropping weight like crazy. Im down 15 pounds. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn It's also possible that 166 was not an accurate weight or was due to water weight. Not that gaining 6 lbs in a week is impossible, but it's unlikely. That would require an extra 3000 calories per day. Extra. I doubt you're eating 4500-5000 calories per day. :) More likely, you were closer to 161-162 last week aside from water weight, so the 163 this week is right on target.
Avatar n tn s keeping you from losing weight. By eating regular meals, you can better incorporate a mix of vegetables, protein, whole grains and healthy fats into your diet. Snacking, typically, ends up being fruit, candy bars, crackers, sandwiches, chips and all the things that aren't so good for you and tend to make you, either, gain or hold onto weight.
Avatar n tn As person who has borderline sleep apnea I have noticed that the sleep apnea is less noticeable when I've lost some weight. At this time I personally would be doing myself a favor by losing 20-30 pounds. My question to you is 'Are you overweight?' If so, you may want to look into some diet changes so you can lose the weight. I personally found the reality show 'The Biggest Loser' very informative, however I've struggled with getting motivated to lose the weight.
Avatar f tn I have lost 40lbs now, but it seems to be slowing down. The doctors where I live I swear are clueless. They always say something at the beginning of my appointment but never make a big deal about it. I have been able to start eating a little more now which is good. I'm hoping that It will just slow down more and more. My last ultrasound last week shows that the baby is fine and growing normally. At least that is a good thing! Thanks for the posts they are all so helpful!
Avatar f tn I just started school again and I've slowly been getting myself onto a normal sleep schedule. Yet, for some reason, no matter how much sleep I get, whether its 4 hours or 9 hours, I'm always tired. Always. I'm dozing off in class uncontrollably & I'm having trouble staying awake. Back in April I lost over 12 pounds due to my bad diet/lack of food. I possibly suffered fr ARFID, which caused me to lose a lot of weight.
Avatar n tn Recently I had an overall checkup, they checked for pretty much everything. My doc said the test were great. I took the test early in the morning. I checked the lab test online and seen that I had fasting glucose of 105 and according to their online index table it was out of normal range. I emailed my Doc and he said that reading of 105 did not concern him. But is 105 pre-diabetic? I'm 27, male. 6'0 and 160, not overweight at all, in fact I'm too skinny for being a male.
Avatar f tn Sleep is also more important than a lot of people recognize - studies show that you can lose weight by getting eight hours a night versus the six hours most of us get...
Avatar f tn I'm a little confused. Is anyone else losing weight? I'm 11weeks 5days. My weight before pregnancy was 180. 6weeks prego my weight was 168, 8weeks was 161, today i'm at 155. I thought in the beginning it was from morning sickness and being actually sick, but for 3 weeks i haven't had a lot of morning sickness since i started drinking sprite and i haven't been sick. I thought for sure by mid 11 weeks i would have gained at least a pound or two. Am I the only one losing?
Avatar f tn I'm about 13 weeks and keep losing weight. Not sure why. I eat, but i know I'm not getting the calories I need. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables mostly because that's what's sounds good. I'm also eating a lot of protein too. Anyone else experienced weight loss?
Avatar n tn I know because my Sunshine went through this also. He was eating like a hog and losing weight!!! I was frightened. He would also display odd behaviors once in a while. If this is what it is (all that is required to dx this is a blood test), there are three treatment options that I knew of then (year 2000): A particular medication whose name escapes me(something like Beclor)......This made Sunshine MUCH worse. Surgery on the thyroid gland to remove the benign tumor....
Avatar f tn 10lbs a month seems doable, but with any diet there are plateaus that you will hit that will slow weight loss. A lot of professionals claim that it is healthy to lose 8 lbs a month. With that said, I would choose the healthiest food I could and par particular attention to portion size. As well, drink a lot of cold water through the day and particularly before a meal. As for running, some people can run and some can't.
Avatar m tn However, now that I am off Incivek I am losing that weight, already lost 8 pounds. Anyway, I figure if I get to SVR, it will be worth a few pounds. I can lose them later, after I finish treatment.
Avatar m tn Hi i have depression and bpd, i am also incredibly overweight but since ive been losing more and more weight the effects of low energy while upright have been getting significantly worse and my GP and mental health doctor are stumped. im 21 male i dont have sleep apnea but struggle to sleep and have restless leg.
Avatar f tn Hey yall, I've lost about 10 pounds in 2 days and I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I haven't been eating much because I'm so worried about what's good and bad for the baby. I have awful anxiety and depression so I over think and worry about everything . I haven't been taking my anxiety medicine due to risks of harming the baby and I think that's why I can't eat and am losing weight so fast. Is this dangerous or will it get better with time ?
Avatar f tn I have also lost 3 inches around my bust but gained 2 inches around my baby bump within the last 2 weeks! I am plus size so losing weight is exciting but is it NORMAL!? I feel fantastic no more morning sickness. So where is it going?
