Avatar f tn I have been trying to lose weight lately and lately I have been having headaches, at first brought on by stress and now, brought on by eating refined, white sugar, or eating processed sweets. In short, I have cut down on sweets significantly or eat hardly any at all. But it has only been a few days since I have made the decision to lose weight. Is this common?
Avatar f tn I have struggled with my weight for a few years now and I think I need to make myself be healthier and then maybe I won't be so down on myself. Suggestions for losing weight in a cheap and easily manageable way are much appreciated.
699217 tn?1323438700 I know basically all the details of losing weight, eating right and exercising, but the question is how do you all keep thin? Avatar f tn I have symptoms of cushings but recently lost weight after cutting out white carbs and sugar and because I’m so scared, I stopped eating. Today I only had a few pieces of cheese and a couple falafel balls. Is it normal to lose weight? My face used to be puffy and it’s thin now. I’m scared this is caused by a cancerous tumor. I had a clear pituitary mri and a clear abdominal ct scan. I’m losing tons of hair and growing facial hair. My muscles feel weak. I’m prediabetic and insulin resistant.
Avatar m tn Hi there! If you are aiming at losing weight, it is important to calculate your current BMI and the target BMI. The target BMI should be in a healthy range. Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. A healthy diet should consist of adequate amounts of calories with carbohydrates, proteins, fat and plenty of fruits and vegetables to supply vitamins and minerals.
Avatar f tn I am now SVR (over 1 year now) and while on meds (Jun - Dec 2014) I lost about 25 lbs but eating a liver friendly diet, cutting out all sugar, watching my portions, and have continued to follow that diet, although a little more relaxed about ice cream, etc (still no candy). I am now down 35 lbs, and plan to continue my life style change - eating better and walking more. I truly believe that may have helped me not have problems as I was overweight - still am, to a degree.
Avatar f tn Have you thought of keeping a food journal, if even for a couple of weeks, to make sure your getting enough calories and the right kinds of foods? You could also measure yourself to see if your losing inches instead of weight. Don't forget even if you know what your doing your body sometimes takes a little longer to figure it out. Don't stop what your doing.
1930930 tn?1323214247 i just want to lose weight with work outs but not a mass amount of cutting out all food apart from the fats. Any help ?
10538711 tn?1443571442 If you are an active man multiply your weight by 15 but if you are inactive multiply by 13. If you are an active women multiply your weight by 12 but if you are inactive multiply by 10. Subtract 500 or 1,000 from your calories needed to maintain current weight. Lose 1 to 2 lbs. per week by reducing your calorie intake by 500 to 1,000 per day. For example, if you require 2,000 calories per day but want to lose 1 lb. per week you must limit your daily calorie intake to 1,500.
Avatar n tn I know the feeling. There is always a tomorrow or next week when it comes to proactively losing weight. And if I feel overweight then yes I want the weight gone yesterday. Some advice. Don't drop the weight quickly, this is rarely a long-term solution. If I took time and had the mental discipline I could have lost weight many times over. Do it once, do it right. Issues with weight and body image are taxing (emotionally, physically and financially) and demoralizing.
284738 tn?1283106819 Try also cutting excess sugar in the foods you eat. If you like chocolate, try some sugar free versions like Dove dark chocolate Sugar free. Its like 5 pieces for 160 cals. If you just keep your portions in half, and also cutting all that soda out you should start seeing an improvement. Good luck!!!!
Avatar f tn (700 calorie per day X 5 days= 3500 calories. Now... you can increase the daily calorie deficiency by exercising more and lose weight faster. One hour of walking will burn up about 300-325 calories if you walk at a moderate speed. Bottom line is learn how to determine how many calories your using daily and then know how many calories your eating daily... that way you will know if your doing what you should be doing to lose weight. Ok next.
7606649 tn?1392686521 I'm doing the same thing. I ate horrible with my daughter and never lost baby weight. So I'm eating healthy and cutting out pop and sugary foods! (Ok, not so much cutting them out as this baby WON'T let me have them!) I still eat plenty!
Business woman2 Most weight loss products don't work and none of them are meant for long term use, so even if you lose weight on them, chances are you will gain it back. First rule out any health issues that might cause weight gain/prevent loss, such as hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, PCOS, etc, then work on cutting calories and getting plenty of exercise.
Avatar f tn LAST WEEK I BUSTED OUT MY BIGGEST JEANS, SO I CHANGED MY EATING HABITS. MY QUESTION IS CAN WEIGHT BE LOSS BY EATING LESS FOOD NO JUNK OR BREAD WITHOUT COUNTING CARBS, & CALORIES? Avatar m tn Some people who are very overweight find the weight loss alone reduces their blood sugar dramatically. Then I would suggest cutting out sugar and reduciing carb intake. There is lots of information available online and calorieking.com is a good site that lists carb counts for all foods. (you can also get them on labels of prepackaged foods).
Avatar m tn Irrespective, assuming type 2 diabetes, the treatment will be losing weight if overweight, cutting carbs (particularly sugar, grains, starches - look into low carb / ketogenic diet), exercise, and medications if the previous lifestyle approaches are not sufficient. You can do this.
Avatar f tn I've finally become motivated to eat right and all that junk ;) This past week I cut out a lot of fat and was careful about what I ate. Not a pound came off. Not that I was really expecting any to. I'm going to stick with it though. How much can I expect to lose, if any? I'm used to losing 2 lbs. a week when I'm being careful but obviously it isn't gonna happen this time. But if it's a slow and steady battle I have to do, I'll try my hardest to hang on.

Aside indulging in moderate amounts of physical exercise it is also essential to maintain a healthy diet plan. It is important to know that a diet plan is not about cutting down calories; it’s about ‘healthy’ eating. With cutting on diet one may initially lose weight but this may remain static or increase later.
