29837 tn?1414534648 Going into the hospital, I weighed 185 (my normal weight). Upon release I now weighed 192. This after having been denied food for 9 days, then 6 days of regular diet Lately, I noticed my watch is not tight on my wrist anymore, I weighed myself yesterday. I now weigh 175 lbs. This is the weight I weighed at 27 years old. For many years now, my weight has been 185. The now weight of 175 lbs. is a loss of 17 lbs. in less than 3 weeks after leaving the hospital.
Avatar n tn I have lost nearly 20 kilos ( 44 lbs) since my surgery. But I know that only part of that was to do with being on medication after my TT last Dec and the rest to bloody hard work on my part! Saw a Naturopath as I wasn't losing any weight by May this year...and felt lousy. I have lost most of the weight to changing my diet and doing excersise. I can see how easily I can gain weight even though I am now officially hyperthyroid! So I do my utmost to keeping the weight down.
Avatar n tn I lost quite a lot of weight after my bypass surgery, I assumed it was a more efficient heart enabling fluid retention to be more controlled. Saying that, when I came off the strong pain killers (about 3 months post), I started to eat a lot more and I ended up back at my original weight. If he looks OVER lean, gaunt, then I would have a Doctor check him over. Is he drinking plenty of fluids?
Avatar n tn m losing a lot of weight lately, even though my weight is stable. I have been eating a lot more, though, without gaining any weight.
Avatar m tn ive lost twenty pouunds since my surgery on the 11th of feb 2011 is that normal to,i have a wound infection i am fighting also. I am on antibiotic ceflex one every six hours. I feel like i smell like fish in the wound area but told this is to be normal it has only been three days since doctor took stiches out of the site at my belly button so the healing process can start...i think i am reading allot of horror stories on the net.....
Avatar f tn Told I was stressed and detoxing off Ativan. I went on the Keto diet for three months losing a little weight (maybe 10 pounds). I’m on an anti thyroid medication that makes you gain mor weight and hard to lose it. Frustrating. Food isn’t my problem since I’ve been on medication. Frustrated and desperate to lose weight. My question is, would gastric bypass work for someone like me? Thank you for reading my rant!
Avatar f tn t have the energy to workout like I used to even though I am trying. Can I still loose weight after my thyroid surgery like I am now which I hope I will it's better to loose than gain. I much prefer where I am right now at 125lbs than my normal weight 160lbs. Again thank you for you advice, also should my body go back to it's normal stage when my thyroid is removed.
1046985 tn?1305117048 I put a lot of weight on with my cysts but within 4 weeks after surgery I'd lost it all. With the advent of the surgery I also took advantage of it to change my eating habits and it allowed me to continue losing weight.
Avatar f tn I have just recently "finished" meanopause, well, most of the symptoms are gone and I've "flatlined" out hormonally, which is fine with me, but after losing about 20 lbs last year, I have hit the wall and no matter what I do, I can't lose any more weight. Work out 4-5 times a week and have been FAITHFULLY following Weight Watcher since Jan 7th. Initially lost 5 lbs but have rapidly gained back 3, without a single change to my diet or exercise patterns.
Avatar n tn After someone has lost a significant amount of weight, a new issue can emerge when previously stretched skin has lost some of its elasticity and can sag uncomfortably. A surgical approach is often recommended depending on how significant the problem is - this procedure is called a panniculectomy, in which excess fat and skin is removed. An alternative procedure is an abdominoplasty, in which the abdominal muscles are tightened as well.
Avatar f tn I would suggest making an appointment with your family doctor to discuss a realistic weight loss and a possible new food plan to achieve this new realistic goal. Losing 15 lbs in 2 weeks is not realistic and can put your health in jeopardy, big time. I wish you well.
Avatar f tn Hi community. I had my surgery on 7th February 2022. My weight was 51kg before going in but now a month later I have noted my current weight to be 48kg. Anyone else experienced so much weight loss in a month? I am worried I am losing a lot.

Avatar n tn I also have felt a little tingle in my face in that area when I open wide and hear a small click in my jaw. Does this sound like TMJ and could it be related to the surgery? Should I contact my oral surgeon or a dentist that specializes in this? I hope this pain is temporary because it is really annoying. I also had a dry socket/slow heal on that side, but it feels fine now. This seemed to come out of the blue! Anyone experience this? Thanks in advance!!
Avatar m tn Most, if not all, of us lose weight after cyst removal surgery. It is possible to keep it off if you eat sensibly following surgery. I don't know what exactly causes all that bloat when a cyst is present, because it's greater than the size of the cyst itself (hormones perhaps?), but usually it goes away when the cyst is removed.
1755089 tn?1376053555 I also had back shoulder blade problems that seem to go thru to my chest sometimes. It went away after surgery, but is now back again. Anyone else have this isue? As for the jaw sometimes is too painful to chew. My teeth even seem to hurt. Its weird.
Avatar f tn For several years, I have experienced severe jaw nerve pain. The pain is located very deep in the jaw behind my teeth, almost in my neck. I have been to several dentists, had xrays and exams and they cannot find a problem. I liken the pain to eating a lemon....that piercing feeling you get in the jaw ...only multiplied about 50 times. This is very painful and aspirin, muscle relaxers, pain medication etc does not relieve it at all.
302488 tn?1337551241 So the other day I posted about my experience with the oral surgeon. No mass in saliva gland but also no saliva. My question is..has anyone ever experienced an indentation close to your temple with swelling in the face. It's on my right side and that's also the side of the gland not producing saliva. I'm not sure what's goin on. It feels like I'm kinda losing it. You see what your body's doing but it makes no sense. Help?
