cozaar

Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
16467414 tn?1448304929 Hi There. Im not a doctor, but my own experience with BP meds, is that they all have side effects to one degree or another. Sometimes the body adjusts to them gradually over a couple of weeks, so it may settle. Give it some time.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.
Avatar f tn t had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects. I am just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on Lisinopril vs Losartan to help me decide if I should change meds. Thanks!!!
Avatar n tn In clinical studies the overall incidence of side effects was similar to placebo. Side effects reported included diarrhea, muscle cramps, dizziness, insomnia, and nasal congestion. Losartan also may cause a persistent cough, increase serum potassium, impotence, and angioedema. Losartan may reduce kidney function in some patients and should not be used by patients who have bilateral renal artery stenosis (narrowing of both arteries going to the kidneys).
Avatar n tn Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Losartan blood pressure supplements comtains ingredients of losartan potassium. It commonly includes side effects like high blood ressure. dizziness, breathing difficulty, asthama. Try to consult other doctor if possible.
Avatar m tn Well we have a lot of similarities, I'm a inch or two taller and a few pounds heavier... but a lot older. In any case I'd discuss the possible medication side effects with the doctor prescribing them. Some times side effects are worse than the problem they are treating. We all have to decide which is best, trouble symptoms or side effects.
Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
15481674 tn?1440853541 How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications...
Avatar f tn I found it is great medication and works very well. To my knowledge there are no damaging side effects to the drug since it was prescribed to me by my gastroligist. Since your blood pressure seems to be under control then you probably dont need the "Cozaar". However you should mention it to your doctor and check your blood pressure at least weakly for a while.

Avatar m tn Losartan is a really good drug with few side effects. 50 mg is not a high dose. It should not be causing any of the problems you mention. Ask your doctor.
Avatar m tn Hello, I African American male in my 40's that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.
Avatar m tn It often takes a few weeks for the body to get used to the new medication. After those weeks, many side effects normally disappear. The statin and plavix are not very clear to me. Afaik, statins are not described to persons of your mother's age. Plavix is a potent anticoagulation medication (blood thinner). It is normally decribed after placement of a foreign object in the bloodstream (stent).
Avatar m tn Certain medications can cause adverse reactions in individuals who are sensitive to that medication. But the effects should resolve once it is stopped. Now the question is, your blood pressure needs to be adequately controlled. Monitor your pressure on a regular basis and if still high, you need to have to have it under control to prevent complications. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn This is a very common high blood pressure med and both have the same potential side effects so I would think your symptoms are not related to your change in meds. You should discuss this with your doctor to be safe. There are many benefits to a diuretic, most BP meds have this as well. The idea is to decrease your fluid volume load which makes it easier for the heart to function and to help prevent the asorbtion of salt. Check with your doctor and see what he thinks.
Avatar f tn You know what? I felt that way. I watched my bp rise and had constant worry about it. I have familial hypertension. Finally my doctor was like . . . we've waited long enough. Let's get it started. I started on a low dose of losartan and my bp immediately dropped 25 points. I've not had to go up on dose. Other than when I FIRST began the medication, I've had no side effects. I got dizzy and felt like chest pains for about 3 or 4 days when beginning the med. After that? Nothing.
Avatar m tn I have 2 questions. What are the long term side effects of these BP medicine as I am trying to see if I can stop these medicines if my BP does not shoot up. Secondly, is it good to take Losar or Olmat.
Avatar n tn As with just about all medications, there are side effects. Losartan has its share as well. I feel if you're going to try this as a Fibrosis reversal opportunistic treatment, you should evaluate the side effects and certainly ask your doctor's opinion. As with pretty much all blood pressure medications, there is that ever gnawing and threatening sexual disfunctionality. Here's a link to the side effects: http://diabetes.emedtv.com/losartan/losartan-side-effects-p2.
Avatar m tn It appears that any significant amount of protein in any form creates several painful and uncomfortable side effects in my body when consumed. This includes meat, eggs, dairy, soy, beans, and nuts.
Avatar m tn t make much sense unless you are having side effects. A risk of a larger dose vs. smaller dose may be the reason...less toxicity in the system.
Avatar m tn Narrowed arteries is not a very common cause. Medication side effects is common. Stress, anxiety or depression is also a very common cause.
Avatar n tn I am on Losartan 50 mg sice last few years, Sometime my BP goes berserk ranging from 150-160/90-105. I used to combine atenolo 25 mg and it used to be normal. Now since 5 days back I forgot to take Losartan at my usual time in morning, but took it in evening. What happened that my BP is not cominh down, I take metprolol 25 mg in morning and after an hour or so BP becomes more or less normal but start rising after 9pm and in the morning ranges the same as mentioned earlier.
