Avatar m tn Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.
Avatar n tn As with just about all medications, there are side effects. Losartan has its share as well. I feel if you're going to try this as a Fibrosis reversal opportunistic treatment, you should evaluate the side effects and certainly ask your doctor's opinion. As with pretty much all blood pressure medications, there is that ever gnawing and threatening sexual disfunctionality. Here's a link to the side effects: http://diabetes.emedtv.com/losartan/losartan-side-effects-p2.
Avatar n tn In clinical studies the overall incidence of side effects was similar to placebo. Side effects reported included diarrhea, muscle cramps, dizziness, insomnia, and nasal congestion. Losartan also may cause a persistent cough, increase serum potassium, impotence, and angioedema. Losartan may reduce kidney function in some patients and should not be used by patients who have bilateral renal artery stenosis (narrowing of both arteries going to the kidneys).
Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a 37 yr old male and who has suffered with anxiety for many years. About 2 years ago, I discontinued taking Lexapro (took for about 8 - 10 years) and have been debating taking it again to help with my anxiety. Last year I was diagnosed with an IRBBB/Incomplete Right Brundle Branch Block. I am concerned about Lexapro and it's cardiovascular side effects, especially QT Prolongation which is listed as a potential side effect.

Avatar m tn Losartan is a really good drug with few side effects. 50 mg is not a high dose. It should not be causing any of the problems you mention. Ask your doctor.
Avatar m tn Hello, I African American male in my 40's that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.
16467414 tn?1448304929 Hi There. Im not a doctor, but my own experience with BP meds, is that they all have side effects to one degree or another. Sometimes the body adjusts to them gradually over a couple of weeks, so it may settle. Give it some time.
Avatar n tn Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/lipitor-side-effects-drug-center.htm. Again, most tolerate it very well and it has a high efficacy rate for controlling cholesterol. Some of what you describe could be related to anxiety. Has this avenue of your health been explored?
Avatar f tn Losartan blood pressure supplements comtains ingredients of losartan potassium. It commonly includes side effects like high blood ressure. dizziness, breathing difficulty, asthama. Try to consult other doctor if possible.
Avatar m tn Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily. After just a few weeks on the Losartan, I became hyperthyroid for a while, and my doctor lowered my dose of Armour (down to 60.) I have not noticed heat intolerance, but I am losing weight--slowly (which I don't mind as I am about 20 lbs over bikini-wearing level.) Never heard of the Marshall protocol, but I'm going to look it up!
15481674 tn?1440853541 How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications...
Avatar n tn also take other supplements like co-q 10, b complex. I read about many side effects tfor this drug and I just do not feel safe on it, cannot take ace inhibitors, had allergic reaction, any feedback on this?
Avatar f tn This is such a difficult problem. I know, because I also went through years and years of trials of many, many anti-hypertensive meds. Many of them had no effect, and many others made me feel sick or faint. Frankly, I would rather have died! So I declined prescriptions for a number of years.
Avatar n tn People often take sleeping meds and anti depressants that have hcv or are treating. I don't know a lot about the lisinoprill, but I read about a small study that Losartan (for high blood pressure) may reverse fibrosis. Your doctor should know about your hcv and your meds, especially if you are treating. http://ihealthbulletin.
Avatar m tn I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
Avatar m tn My 93 y/o Mom just had a stress test and echo. They show a 52% LVEF but a small infarct area at the bottom of the heart. She has no obvious symptoms but her cardiologist has put her on a new regimen of 4 meds (statin, Plavix, losartan, metoprolol)... which she finds terribly overwhelming. My question is ... why both losartan (an Angiotensin II) and metoprolol (a beta blocker)? Don't they both do the same thing by lowering blood pressure and opening up the coronary arteries?
Avatar m tn I am having a very difficult time w dry mouth and sometimes feel like I cannot swallow either
Avatar f tn Hi there. I'm a 24 yr female recently diagnosed as hypertensive with an average BP of 145/100. I was prescribed several drugs at first that all caused intolerable side effects (Lisinopril Carveidlol Chlorthiadone). Now I'm on 50mg Losartan no side effects that I can tell. Keeps my blood pressure in a very safe level. I am on a strict diet and exercise daily. My exercises are mainly low impact - stretching, crunches, aerobics, power walks. Yesterday I decided to hop on an exercise bike.
Avatar m tn My biggest trouble is my doctor is doubting that the medicines have side effects. He says at this age the side effects wouldnt happen, is this true?
