Losartan hctz hyzaar

Common Questions and Answers about Losartan hctz hyzaar

cozaar

Avatar n tn Losartan alone, also known as Cozaar does not have a diuretic. But Losartan with HCTZ is also known as Hyzaar. Don't assume yours has the diuretic in it. Ask the pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Increased heart rate, restlessness etc can be due to Hyzaar. Yes, there are many other drugs besides hydrochlorothiazide and losartan (Hyzaar) which can be taken for high blood pressure. Please ask your doctor to change Hyzaar, maybe increase the frequency or dose of Atenelol as it was suiting you. However, please do not make any changes yourself. Buy a home recording BP instrument and keep a check on your daily blood pressure in the morning and evening. Take care!
Avatar m tn It is a combination of Valsartan and the same diuretic as Hyzaar. It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists.
Avatar m tn m currently seeing a cardiologist that has me currently on losartan 100mg/25mg hctz...my blood pressure tends to average about 130/75 right now(with meds). I had a sinus infection in December that lasted over a month and a half..(none of these symptoms was present before this) since January....I have a weird pressure/fluidly feeling that comes in the back of my head with a pulsating beat, and I'll get pressure above my nose...
Avatar m tn s that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.
Avatar m tn m male, 22 years old, 6,3 220 pounds athletic build, and I have currently been taking 100mg losartan/hctz 25mg for hypertension about 7 months ago. Since I have been on this medicine I have experienced skipped/extra beats when I exert myself in exercise. It's very troubling because I stop myself every time because I feel like I may be over doing it. The thing is I never had this happen before I started the meds. I also feel my pulse all over like in temples, head, back, legs.....

First of I'm 22 years of age, male about 6'2 kinda muscular 228 pounds, and pretty active. I've been diagnosed with hypertension and was put on losartan 50mg/hctz 12.5mg by my cardiologist when my blood pressure was running about 150-160/80-90 consistantly about 2 months ago.
Avatar f tn I used to take lisinipril...low dose of 5mg mainly to help my kidneys as I am diabetic. Over one year went up to lisinipril 40 mg and it stopped working. I was put on propranolol and then metoprolol with the following awful side effects: dry mouth, shortness of breath. They did lower my pressure though. Along with these, I took HCTZ 12.5 mg which also have me those same sided effects.

Avatar m tn Hello I'm 22 with hypertension I'm currently taking Losartan 100mg/hctz 25mg to try and maintain a decent reading. Today I played football (flag) for 2 hours straight, I played pretty hard, my Heart rate when I got home was 93...then I checked it an hour later it was 88 then 2 hours total since I played it was is still at 86....my normal resting Hr varies from higher 50's-70...is this ok it's taking this long to return? I've not played that hard in months...
Avatar m tn My cardiologist told me of this and I was, scared confused, so I came home googled and found it was very serious. I am now on losartan 100mg/hctz 25mg, and at night I take spironolacone 25mg. My blood pressure runs anywhere from 135/80-148/92 on the meds. I cannot use a beta blocker, because late evening my resting Heart Rate gets to low 50's. But during the day runs anywhere from 80-60 resting. Typically get 80 more often after a full meal.

Avatar m tn 52 year old male in good health. High BP controlled with Losartan/HCTZ. 30 LBS overweight. Some fatigue issues. Blood work on 03/09/16 indicated Total Bilirubin at 2.3 (normal range .2-1.2) Other liver enzymes normal. Blood work on 3/23/16 indicated Total Bilirubin at 2.6, Direct bilirubin .3. (Normal range <or =.2). My direct Bilirubin is just outside the normal range, (some labs say normal is <or =.3) Direct bilirubin is only 12% of the bilirubin total.
Avatar m tn I do take meds for hypertension, losartan, hctz, and spirolactone. Like right now I can see my temple vein(not a hard pulse) but is visible. I just checked my Bp and it's (125/63). I mentioned it to my doctor an he just said it's probably Blood pressure spikes after eating and dismisses the subject? Just wondering if you know of anyone that has this problem? It's really bothering.
Avatar f tn According to the labs I went from hypo to hyper - during the time period I was on hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ or HCT). The Endocrinology Department allegedly told her that missing a day or two of Synthroid would explain why I went HYPER. Geeesh. Does not compute. Found out I am allergic to HCTZ (they were supposed to have caught that since I have documented six ways to Sunday about almost dying from a sulfa drug and HCTZ is a thiazide (thi = sulfur).
Avatar m tn Hello Thanks for taking time to view my post I had hypertension diagnosed for 2 yrs ago, I started meds about a year and a half ago. I have also heard the manual ones are more accurate so idk. I have hypertension as well I'm 22 and pretty active and normal weight mine runs about 150/80 but manuals sometimes give me in the 130's/80 I'm currently takin Bp meds (losartan 50mg/Hctz 12.
