Common Questions and Answers about Losartan color of pill

Avatar n tn I have family who use those pill holders that have the days of the week listed on it. There are ones that have different times of day as well as the days of the week. I recommend you get one from you local pharmacy and lay out your blood pressure medication in it for each day. That way, like a parent of mine has done, you can look at your container and discover whether or not you forgot to take your pill.
Avatar f tn I did just find something that was interesting. The link, in the case you would want to read more, is http://www.theheart.org/article/1384629.do. I am taking the following out of the whole to publish here as I feel there might be some reassurance to others in this information as this doctor is supposed to be a renowned hypertension expert. In an interview, Dr Norman Kaplan (University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas) agreed.
15481674 tn?1440853541 Yesterday morning i took my thyroid pill on an empty stomach, then around 6 i took my famotidine i ate breakfast around 7 and i took a 1mg of Ativan, and My Losartan 100mg which is a blood pressure pill and Amlodipine 2.5mg which is a small dose, also my Metformin after breakfast too. Avatar f tn Losartan is not a beta blocker. Instead it is an ARB. By blocking the action of angiotensin, losartan relaxes muscle cells and dilates blood vessels, reducing blood pressure. It can cause nasal congestion and persistent cough, Since you have both the cough and leg swelling, you should ask to try another bp medication. There are other types.
Avatar f tn My Dr. wants to bring in another Blood Pressure pill ( clonidine) If i spelled that right. Do any of you all take this combo?? Just wondering if all of these made your blood pressure drop too low? Thanks for input!
Avatar m tn Losartan is a really good drug with few side effects. 50 mg is not a high dose. It should not be causing any of the problems you mention. Ask your doctor.
Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
Avatar m tn I want to point out a little confusion I have. You have in your post above that you take the 2 meds, (Spiro plus the combo tablet of Losartan & HCTZ). But on your post of 24th of October last, you question about a Calcium Channel blocker which you say your taking also?
Avatar m tn His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. Would you advice him continuing losartan or seek new drugs? Many thanks. Avatar n tn Speak to your cardiologist about this. They question is not that silly. He need a color dopplar of his legs to evaluate circulatory status, to keep well-hydrated, and excercise regularly, walking as much as possible. Ask your physician about prescribing an ACE inhibitor suich as Lisonopil or an ARB such as Losartan. He's probably on one or thre other. They have a short half-life. If you asre on them start taking them before bedtime rather than in the morning.
Avatar m tn I am having a very difficult time w dry mouth and sometimes feel like I cannot swallow either
1008841 tn?1293598960 rank=1 I don’t know if a letter to the principals of this study would yield any information about either the efficacy or availability of future trials.
Avatar m tn t even handle taking the full dose so I would split in half and be fine for a while because whne I would try to go off of it my bp would get high. I finally decided that the more I took of it the more I couldn't tolerate: feeling like I was going to pass out, leg cramps, chest pain. And not that it's been two months I think it's still working in my system. My bp is still low.
Avatar n tn My Dr. put me on lowest dose of Losartan and I got joint pain in my thumbs and then in a knee so I weaned myself off but my BP was very high (systolic) during visit. He puts me on Irbesartan, SAME class of drug, then goes on VACATION. It's the smallest dose and I took a corner of a pill yesterday, no pill today, BP is fine, I'm in PAIN. My thumbs hurt, my right foot and left knee, I don't feel well and then I read that all of this are side effects of this drug.
Avatar n tn Tests on their livers revealed that, before treatment with losartan, half of the patients had a high level of the biomarker NF-kB. After treatment, the level fell indicating that losartan is able to switch off NF-kB with the result that scars are no longer produced or maintained, but instead shrink.
16467414 tn?1448304929 I had been drinking a few Ensure that day and taken multivitamins. Both of which had higher levels of potassium in them, and when I took my Losartan, not even 10 minutes later I felt like I was dying. I ended up passing out, very lucky I didn't die. Be careful with that stuff! Even things like Powerade and Gatorade, anything that has electrolytes in it will probably have potassium! And you won't realize you've had too much until it's too late.
Avatar n tn You need to have a neurological consult and request a flicker test. There is a unique form of epilepsy that only manifests itself when there is flicker, such as watching the rotating blades of a fan or seeing telephone poles whiz rapidly by. It isn't the Losartan. The inexpensive test, which is definitive, involves a technician exposing you to a wide range of flicker stimuli. The exact etiology is unknown.
Avatar m tn It is essentially the same as Hyzaar which contains a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and losartan. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Losartan is also in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Losartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow which is exactly how Diovan works.
Avatar f tn After a month of anti-tb medications, my cough still persists, my doctor then prescribed diflucan 150 thinking that I might have a fungal infection aside from tb. i just had 2 caps of diflucan but I now suspect that losartan is the culprit since I am taking it for more than a year now. I came across its adverse effect as I searched for the answer of my persistent cough. Is my suspicion right?
2009161 tn?1327915695 My mom was treated with By pass surgery recently and she has been shown that there is calcium lesion that has been there in one of her heart arteries, Is it because of these tablets(Losartan Potasium). Please help me clarify this Doctor.
Avatar n tn I do eat pretty clean on occasion will eat fast food on vacation. etc. Is there a counter active process of which my losartan (50mg) and amlodipine (10mg) are working against the natural supplements? I have stopped my meds and taken only bp supplements but bp is still elevated. I do take on a daily basis D3,zinc,quercetin,a multi vitamin, turmeric,a small drop of iodine, nitric oxide several times a week before a work out and a probiotic digestive pill.
Avatar m tn So, avoiding beta blockers is a plus with your pulse rate, and the losartan your doctor picked is in a different class of blood pressure lowering medication. How's it working out so far? Do you drink caffeine, eat a lot of chocolate, smoke, take pseudophedrine for allergies, have a lot of stress in your life?
Avatar m tn I am taking Losartan, which is the generic of Cozaar. Like Benicar (which is not available in generic yet, I believe) it is an angiotensin II inhibitor. There are usually very few side effects associated with these drugs, but their action on the biochemistry of the body is complex, so anything is possible. I have Hashimoto's disease, which means I am HYPOthyroid. Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily.
