Avatar f tn After a month of anti-tb medications, my cough still persists, my doctor then prescribed diflucan 150 thinking that I might have a fungal infection aside from tb. i just had 2 caps of diflucan but I now suspect that losartan is the culprit since I am taking it for more than a year now. I came across its adverse effect as I searched for the answer of my persistent cough. Is my suspicion right?
Avatar m tn s that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.
Avatar m tn She is on one Ecotrin per day, but I believe the doctor (now having seen an MI and thinking she is at risk for more) is trying to use something more potent to again lower the risk of another MI by lowering the risk of a clot (moreso than the Ecotrin can provide). What I'm still not happy with is both a beta blocker and an Angiotensin II. My Dad only needed a beta blocker and she gets overwhelmed with so many meds and doesn't tolerate them well.
Avatar n tn A drug known for lowering blood pressure, losartan, has shown great promise to stop or even reverse fibrosis in Hep C patients The link is www.ihealthbulletin.

Avatar f tn Hallo there -anyone and everyone. Is there any reasons to prefer or take losartan above olmesartan or the olmesartan above losartan. Person taking these is african, 57 years, female and oh, my mother.
Avatar m tn His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. Would you advice him continuing losartan or seek new drugs? Many thanks. Avatar m tn //www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
Avatar m tn My GP put me on Lisinopril last year but switched me to Losartan after the Lisinopril failed to help. The Losartan brought my BP down a lot with a 50 mg daily dose. I was down to 110/70 and even 100/65 at times. I even got light-headed when I stood up quickly. The GP said this was normal and good. He likes my BP to be well below 120/80. So far so good. I was getting the Losartan from Walgreens as a 30 day supply.
Avatar m tn First of all, PSA levels are not diagnostic of prostate cancer and you shouldn’t worry about it. There is no specific normal or abnormal level of PSA in the blood. In the past, most doctors considered PSA levels of 4.0 ng/mL and lower as normal. More recent studies have shown that some men with PSA levels below 4.0 ng/mL have prostate cancer and that many men with higher levels do not have prostate cancer. Hence alone PSA levels cannot confirm the presence of prostate cancer.
Avatar n tn I cannot remember if I took my Losartan today or not - 100 mg. should I take it?
Avatar m tn I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
1008841 tn?1293598960 Has anyone heard about a study with Losartan, a BP drug, on people with HCV, with moderate Fibrosis? Its suppose to shrink them, so the liver can heal. I was wondering how I could get on a study like that? I'm Type1a, a non-responder.
Avatar m tn I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
Avatar n tn You basically want to postpone doing any surgery on the root as far as possible in case you develop aortic stenosis or aortic regurgitation so that both can be dealt with at the same time. Of couse, once you go pass 6 cm in the root the risk of rupture or dissection increases and this is why we never delay surgery at that point.
Avatar n tn People often take sleeping meds and anti depressants that have hcv or are treating. I don't know a lot about the lisinoprill, but I read about a small study that Losartan (for high blood pressure) may reverse fibrosis. Your doctor should know about your hcv and your meds, especially if you are treating. http://ihealthbulletin.
16467414 tn?1448304929 The doctor put on Losartan Potassium 50 mg. Since then I have been feeling nauseated and slightly dizzy. Are these symptoms normal with this medication? Any help will be appreciated.

I have a home blood pressure monitor & it's been in the120-128/78-82 range. Problem been going on about year..
Avatar f tn My mother is diagnose with unstable angina a month a ago and the doctor asked us to monitor her blood pressure since she is discharged from the hospital her blood pressure is always normal but there are sometimes that her bp is 100/50 and last day her bp is 120/40 she is 71 years old and taking medications such as norvasc. lipitor, aspirin, imdur or ISMN and losartan. Please help me is it normal for her age? Thank you...
2009161 tn?1327915695 I was worried so went to a doctor, the doctor checked my BP was 170/100, which was high as per the doctor, since then I am having LOSARTAN POTASIUM tablets of 50 mg every day prescribed by him, but still at times my BP in the evenings when I check is 150/100. Do I need to increase my dossage or continue with some physical excercises to reduce my BP, when ever I did some meditation for 10 mins, I checked with my electronic BP monitor it reduces compared to previous reading though.
Avatar m tn By the way, Pat, regardless of whether you have Marfan Syndrome or not, you might Google "losartan" and "Marfan Syndrome" to read articles on this topic. I don't think losartan is the best ARB, but it's the one being used in the current studies. All ARBs seem to work, some better than others. Efficacy is usually dose-dependent.
Avatar f tn the doctor switched me to Losartan 50 qd. I am going to change on Monday to Losartan and am nervous about what will happen. any thoughts on this??
Avatar m tn s risk of cancer is 6%, but among ARB patients, it is 7.5%. So balance the additional risk of cancer with the risk of aortic dissection or rupture and make the call. Most cardiologists will continue to prescribe beta blockers when ARBs appear to be the superior therapy, so finding a knowledgeable cardiologist is the toughest hurdle.
Avatar m tn I'm 22 just diagnosed with hypertension. My cardiologist prescribed me losartan today I was wondering if this is a good recommended Bp medicine mine runs typically 150-160/90-95. Thanks, hope I can get some input!
