1210142 tn?1266077031 Thank you for your response. I know for sure that the BP medications are giving me chest pain, back pain, nausea and dizziness. I am back on Lisinopril since Losartan did not do any good. My BP became higher- between 131 and 146 over 89/92 so the dizziness is definetely not because of the law blood pressure. Carvedilol is the one giving me problems so I wanted to find out: since I had MI but not heart failure- is is absolutely necessary to take beta blockers?
Avatar m tn I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
Avatar m tn My GP put me on Lisinopril last year but switched me to Losartan after the Lisinopril failed to help. The Losartan brought my BP down a lot with a 50 mg daily dose. I was down to 110/70 and even 100/65 at times. I even got light-headed when I stood up quickly. The GP said this was normal and good. He likes my BP to be well below 120/80. So far so good. I was getting the Losartan from Walgreens as a 30 day supply.
Avatar m tn How long have you been taking Losartan? We encourage you to check back in iwth your doctor about this to discuss. Here is a list of side effects associated with Losartan. https://www.drugs.com/sfx/losartan-side-effects.html Uncommonly, ear congestion and hearing loss occur. But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety.
Avatar f tn , measured my blood pressure which was about 170/95 with a pulse that was still at 130, took another 25mg of my Losartan but it was still at ca. 160/90 after ten minutes. The chest pain went away during that time but my heartbeat felt irregular and I still felt dizzy and had difficulties breathing deeply.
1008841 tn?1293598960 Has anyone heard about a study with Losartan, a BP drug, on people with HCV, with moderate Fibrosis? Its suppose to shrink them, so the liver can heal. I was wondering how I could get on a study like that? I'm Type1a, a non-responder.
Avatar n tn I stopped taking losartan September 8,still having symptoms. Been on losartan about 4 years. I have asked the dr. Could it be that,he said no. I stopped myself to see if it's the problem. I have a home blood pressure monitor & it's been in the120-128/78-82 range. Problem been going on about year..
Avatar m tn Well at 146/91 you should certainly be on some meds. Lorsartan is an ARB class of blood pressure med and these are not likely to cause ED and in fact can improve sexual function. It's not uncommon to have dizziness, you may want to as your doctor to try another. I prefer Angiotensin II antagonist drugs such as Olmesartan. They have a completely different mechanism and usually have fewer side effects. Don;t give up, your doctor can find one that works well for you with minimal side effects.
16467414 tn?1448304929 The doctor put on Losartan Potassium 50 mg. Since then I have been feeling nauseated and slightly dizzy. Are these symptoms normal with this medication? Any help will be appreciated.
Avatar m tn m still taking Losartan, have been taking it for about two years. This stabbing pain has been with me much longer than that.
Avatar f tn After a month of anti-tb medications, my cough still persists, my doctor then prescribed diflucan 150 thinking that I might have a fungal infection aside from tb. i just had 2 caps of diflucan but I now suspect that losartan is the culprit since I am taking it for more than a year now. I came across its adverse effect as I searched for the answer of my persistent cough. Is my suspicion right?
Avatar m tn His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. Would you advice him continuing losartan or seek new drugs? Many thanks. 2009161 tn?1327915695 I was in a job where I used to work in night shifts, then I checked my BP was 140/90, then I felt normal, after 4 years now 2 months back I was tensed with my office tasks and I was strained that day, surprisingly in the night when I was sleeping, I felt numb on my left side of my face.
Avatar f tn the doctor switched me to Losartan 50 qd. I am going to change on Monday to Losartan and am nervous about what will happen. any thoughts on this??
Avatar n tn I cannot remember if I took my Losartan today or not - 100 mg. should I take it?
Avatar m tn I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?
1210142 tn?1266077031 Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up. Then my PCP substitute it for Losartan- have been taking this drug/25 mg/ for a week and feel extremely dizzy and nauseated. The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear. I don't know if Losartan can cause this or just switching drugs my body needs more time...?
Avatar f tn Hello there my son also is 5 and has a 2.94 cm ascending aorta with other involvement. I'm not sure if this is allowed (Admin let me know!) I'd like to invite you to a group Aortic Dilation in Children on Facebook. There are other BAV and Marfan moms there, some that have had success with losartan and also a cousin of losartan. I'm going to send you a Message!
Avatar f tn I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
Avatar n tn Losartan also has potassium.
Avatar n tn People often take sleeping meds and anti depressants that have hcv or are treating. I don't know a lot about the lisinoprill, but I read about a small study that Losartan (for high blood pressure) may reverse fibrosis. Your doctor should know about your hcv and your meds, especially if you are treating. http://ihealthbulletin.
973741 tn?1342342773 I have been taking Lisinopril for decades and switched to Losartan in July. Personally I would take a controlled reading of around 130/80 for me as acceptable.
Avatar m tn hi, a couple of months back my physical came back and everything was good except AST was 55 and ALT was 68. google says normal is 48 for AST and 55 for ALT, although my doctor's *normal* requirements were slightly lower. just looking at my numbers they don't look elevated much at all, but i don't really know if any elevation above normal is cause for concern. i'm in good shape and very active, but i do have a couple of things that may contribute to this. 1.
