cozaar

Avatar f tn s, kidney scans and urine samples, so I was put on 50 mg of Losartan- atid a day, got a machine for the upper arm and everything has been normal since then (I measure everyday). My mother has had hypertension for about 10 years now, but her measurements weren't as high and she gets it from being obese.
15481674 tn?1440853541 I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications... You should do a thorough search of drug reactions between all those medications and check each of the side effects of all of them, including the "rare" side effects.
Tbd I am on 20mg of Losartan and diagnosed with pre-metabolic syndrome. Anyone else in a similar shape and has some success tips for be healthy besides electronic coaching classes?
Avatar m tn I noticed I had put on about 10 pounds and new I was under more stress than usual.. Lost the weight and got life under control and every thing BP wise went back to normal..

Avatar n tn Losartan also may cause a persistent cough, increase serum potassium, impotence, and angioedema. Losartan may reduce kidney function in some patients and should not be used by patients who have bilateral renal artery stenosis (narrowing of both arteries going to the kidneys). Rare cases of rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown) have been reported.
Avatar m tn Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily. After just a few weeks on the Losartan, I became hyperthyroid for a while, and my doctor lowered my dose of Armour (down to 60.) I have not noticed heat intolerance, but I am losing weight--slowly (which I don't mind as I am about 20 lbs over bikini-wearing level.) Never heard of the Marshall protocol, but I'm going to look it up!
Avatar m tn There was another study comparing muscular hypertrophy when doing low-rep, heavy-weight lifting vs. doing high-rep, light-weight lifting, and the surprise was that the high-rep, light-weights (to muscle exhaustion) actually produced better results than the heavy lifts. This goes contrary to conventional gym wisdom, but hey, it's what the study said.
16467414 tn?1448304929 I am trying to come off Atenolol after 7 years and a few weeks ago a doctor put me on Losartan Potassium and did not tell me that though I asked if I should avoid anything. I found out what Hyperkalemia does to you the hard way. It can kill you if levels are very high, almost did me in! Symptoms of it are muscle fatigue, weakness, paralysis, abnormal heart rhythms, and nausea. It felt like someone poured hot lead in my body.
Avatar f tn From there he developed aortic stenosis and aortic regurgitation, and his aorta began to dilate. He started taking losartan to help keep his aorta from enlarging anymore. We took him back for a check up and his cardiologist told us what my son has is rare and mainly seen in Marfan syndrome. His ascending aorta is a 2.9, at what point would surgery need to be done? He is 51 pounds. He also goes for a second opinion at Vanderbilt on May 12.
973741 tn?1342342773 I have been taking Lisinopril for decades and switched to Losartan in July. Personally I would take a controlled reading of around 130/80 for me as acceptable.

Avatar n tn Hi there. I am a female, 19 years old, otherwise in good health and weight. My electrophysiologist recently put me on a beta blocker (Metoprolol) 25 mg twice a day for hypertension and a ton of other symptoms he said must be due to Neurocardiogenic Syncope. I was diagnosed with asthma a couple years ago and it seems as if the beta blocker is causing shortness of breath and a feeling that seems similar to how I feel after exercising, a sort of chest tightness I would say.
Avatar n tn I tried to talk to my husbands P.A. about Losartan (Cozaar) and she just kind of blew me off. If we actually got to see the Dr., he would probably discuss it with us but she doesn't even want to hear about it. Joe has esophageal varicies and Nadolol is what they think is best. I read a study that showed an increase in platelets and albumin levels and subjects with liver disease. I will be watching the news on this.
Avatar n tn I fought it. Oh, how I fought it. I eventually went on Losartan. My blood pressure went straight down and I actually without trying had weight come off (the same hormone that causes the blood pressure issues hangs onto weight, so inhibiting it affected both my doctor told me). Anyway, weight management is the only thing that impacted my bp (along with, I should say, cardio exercise to exercise my heart. That also took some time but has a positive effect).
Avatar f tn Hallo there -anyone and everyone. Is there any reasons to prefer or take losartan above olmesartan or the olmesartan above losartan. Person taking these is african, 57 years, female and oh, my mother.
Avatar m tn I have experienced excessive anxiety, agitation and sound sensitivity when (accidentally) double dosing Losartan. Long story, but I (for possibly weeks) was taking 200mg per day instead of my prescribed 100mg per day. ---I basically went NUTS!! I am doing better at my prescribed dose but am getting more and more suspicious of all meds in general. For instance-time released bupropion ruined my life for a while but changing to immediate release bupropion did not have the negative side-effects.
Avatar m tn Hi I'm 22 yrs old, active about 225lbs 6'3 and I was wondering I've had high Bp ranging from upper 130's to 140's or sometimes 150's systolic my diastolic ranges from 70's to 85...I was wondering if heart ratehas anything to do with my high Bp..my rest hr is around 60's or 50's...does this have anything to do with higher blood pressure? Am I at risk more with a lower heart rate I'm on Bp meds losartan 50 mg...
Avatar m tn Hi I'm 22 yrs old, male, 6'2 normal weight and I have been experience random muscle spasms all over my body at different times. Some are very small twitches others are a little more intense I can see my skin move. I have high blood pressure I'm taking meds for now (losartan/hctz) highest dose. I eat a banana a day and also usually two servings of wheat bread and plenty of water so I don't think magnesium is the case here. I'm wondering if I should be worried?
Avatar m tn I agree with you, I was put on losartan and didn't have high blood pressure and felt faint, tired, dizzy. my head went numb in the back and I started to feel faint on 25-50mg a day. maybe it's better to not take it. what happens in hypotension is that the oxygen flow to the heart and brain is actually reduced so you become faint which is terrible because then your cells start to die.
1008841 tn?1293598960 There was a recent thread on this forum regarding fibrosis regression and blood pressure drugs (specifically Cozaar, Losartan, etc. the ARB class). If you look back over the past month this thread should be available. There are a variety of related comments in the thread. I got on Cozaar for my tx induced high BP specifically for this reason! I had read studies about Cozaar being beneficial for ED, Fibrosis, and depression...
Avatar m tn I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?
Avatar m tn Do some Google research about losartan and aorta and talk to your doctor. Make sure your doctor is knowledgeable and will listen to you.
