However, case reports and studies showed strong evidences of mood swings, general anxiety, and depression which commonly occurred after major operations. I would strongly recommend your husband to continue all current medications and see his health provider for mood swings, depression, and supportive care.
Couple of months back, i felt my heart stop for 2-3 seconds and felt slight dizziness followed by a 'thump'. Being anxiety prone, i went to my cardiologist and insisted on a holter test. The results were mixed- no arrythmias found except few sinus pauses spanning around 1.7 seconds at max (they were not reported as arrythmias in the report, but my doctor pointed it out from the ECG). They would have been less than 5-6 during the 24 hr period.
I have explained this to my Cardiologist and he still says that it is the PAT's that are causing my anxiety not my anxiety causing the PAT's. I'm concerned about taking medication that will lower my B/P more than it already is. This is begining to effect my life drastically. I'm waking up at night often as many as 4x with my heart pounding, feeling breathless, and shaking all over. It is starting to effect my daily life to the point that I shake much of the time during the day.
I started with the symptoms last week and I thought they would go away. My therapist said that my anxiety and depression would get better and I would have peaks and troughs, I guess this is a trough. I don't think the doctors know what to do with me and they are just hoping I come round on my own but this is the hardest time. I think i'll ring my therapist cos I'm a bit stuck in it. What are you doing about your job? Are you on sick pay? Do you think the tablets made you worse?
then he gave me sorbitrate tab and one losartan tab of bp and also took my blood sample in which the SGOT level was 22 and blood sugar was 118 random he kept me under observation. Their my pain was reduced but was having head heviness,my ECO was also done which doctor said was normal.
I myself have high blood pressure I am on metoprolol tartrate 100 mg once in the morning and losartan 50 mg once at night, I'm also on paroxetine 30 mg once at night for the anxiety. When I lay down at night it feels like my heart is Beaton uncontrollably but once I check my pulse it's fine. Please help do I need to worry about ventricular tachycardia or a fib ?!
I am 76 and have similar symptoms. I too am taking hctz plus other meds daily for blood pressure, polymyalgia, gout, and suffer from tinnitus. You describe what I feel (MRI shows normal, so did Nuerological tests). Doctor thinks its just a side affect possibly of meds and my hearing problem which exagerates other symptoms. Im 6'0", 175#.
My son is only 6 feet tall and his wing span is the same, and he wants to keep playing basketball. If it's not Marfan syndrome, what could cause the dilation measurements to change to much? Should I stop him from playing sports or doing any activity? Should I be worried? When does the dilation become an aneurysm? And should I push for more immediate action? Thank you for listening.
i've sat through about 10 straight minutes of the things, and aside from discomfort and anxiety, nothing doing! i'm sending you good thoughts!
Good Morning and Thanks for taking my questions. I've been diagnosed with mild LVH of the interventricular septum, 14 mm nearly one year ago, 4 years prior to that is was 12 mm, same equipment, same cardio. I worry about HCM, though no family history whatsoever, long livers on both sides, average probably about 88 years, though a few have lived to 98/99.I have a connective tissue disease AS. Is it possible that my CTD could actually be responsible for the mild LVH, rather than mild HTN?
I'm not an obese person, just a little overweighted, I also have GAD (generic anxiety disorder) and I take Losartan, Paxil, Xanax and Atenolol. Cause, by the way, I get tachycardia at some point of the afternoon mostly after eating also. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I think not, cause the lack of air is notable. Some advices will be well accepted, I'm worried that this could be something bad.
Thyroid disorders and diabetes too could be a cause. Insomnia, stress and anxiety along with poor diet and excess of caffeine too can be the cause. Please consult your PCP for primary examination. Take care!
I was prescribed Celexa during tx for HCV, and my liver was in pretty rough shape. I had no problems with it. The other drugs I am not familiar with, so I can't shed any light there - just a layperson's experience with the Celexa.
It was atenolol (20 mg) and I took it in the morning with my other blood pressure med, which at that time was lotensin, but I was taken off that for a while and later put on Losartan, which I've recently been taken off, also ... The only thing I'm currently on for blood pressure is Furosemide, because I have a problem with fluid retention, but I'm working to get off that, as well.
Yesterday morning i took my thyroid pill on an empty stomach, then around 6 i took my famotidine i ate breakfast around 7 and i took a 1mg of Ativan, and My Losartan 100mg which is a blood pressure pill and Amlodipine 2.5mg which is a small dose, also my Metformin after breakfast too. All day i felt tired i was feeling weak like i was going to fall out and i was crying a lot.
You need to be relaxed and not talk when your blood pressure is being taken. Any stress and anxiety will also increase your blood pressure, so try and avoid stressful situations. Cut down on your intake of salt which is know to raise blood pressure. Do relaxation to low stress levels. Make an appointment to see your doctor.
Hello doctor, I am a 24 year old male who takes Losartan 100, Toprol xl25 and Hydrochlorothiazide 25. Recently a psychiatrist prescribed me Lexapro 10mg and Xanax 0.5 twice daily to hopefully treat the anxiety/panic disorder that has made my life very difficult the last few years. However I am concerned as I suffer from high blood pressure and racing heartbeat and now I am afraid to take the Lexapro as I fear its going to worsen my not so good blood pressure and heart rate.
Hi people, I have anxiety disorder and hypertension, this both diagnosed and treated. I have some control now with my panic attacks and extreme anxiety, but the problem is not that, I just tell you that just for you to know some priors, 3 days ago I started to experience some kind of numbness in my right hand fingers (the first 3 starting from the right).

I am also dealing with hypertension, I'm only 22, don't smoke, no alcohol, eat decently healthy, not overweight, played sports still exercise...and my top number (systolic) runs in the 140's, 150's and I'm on 100mg losartan / 25mg hctz....can't seem to keep it down. If you was needing to see a cardiologist I'm sure your primary doctor would of referred you to one. You should have trust in your doctor, just try and relax and take it visit by visit...
Okay, do you folks ever stop to think that maybe your palpitaion problem could be something small and possibly even mental?! Anxiety is a leading cause for PVC's and PAC's for me. I was born with two holes in my heart and a faulty pulmonary valve (fixed) but left me with left ventricular hypertrophy and a right bundle branch block. Both of these issues can cause palpitations. But for me they don't! Anxiety causes them.
I received a stent and medications such as Effient, Metopopral, losartan,325 aspirin and Prevaststin. I woke up out of my sleep with an urgency like I did the first time I was having a heart attack and have not been able to sleep since. The chest pain has some what eased up and I don't want to run to the ER everytimebut this is so scarey to me. Help what should I do?
Finally ectopic beats, the palpitations and skipping you feel, can be caused by an irritated heart. Stress anxiety and adrenaline from working out can cause them to flare up but it is possible if you give your heart a bit of a break from working out too hard it will help settle down the ectopics. The heart is a muscle and just like any other muscle in your body it can get aggravated.
I am a hypertensive person, my doctor prescribed me a maintenance Losartan 50 and Amledopine. I just want to know if there is connection with the numbness and what kind of health disorder is this. Please help me..
I take Losartan 100, Toprol 12.
Hi. I'm over 70 and was diagnosed with high blood pressure some 30 years ago. I am just over 6' tall and at 230 I'd also be overweight. The rule of thumb is, as your weight drops, blood pressure tends to follow in many cases. This is not to say that skinny people don't get hypertensive. Wearing an ambulatory sphygmomanometer is no fun, and may only add to your anxiety which you said "has been through the roof for a while now.
So I can't relieve the stress I'm feeling by jogging. It's a catch 22 situation and am at a loss to know what to do. Maybe I need an anti-anxiety pill, but am afraid of getting dependent. Any suggestions, or advice?
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried massage therapy, it helps but only for a short period. Then I have to go back to the massage therapist again and again, my insurance will not pay for that.
I am currently taking losartan 100mg/hctz, I went to the doc today and my Bp was 170/80 very high systolic not sure why? I was somewhat anxious but I'm on meds just 22 years old so I understand your situation. I am heading tomorrow for another heart echo (had one in feb but by a different doc) hoping for good results. I also hope you find what your needing. Sorry I know I didn't help, just letting you know your not alone.
