I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!
As with just about all medications, there are side effects. Losartan has its share as well. I feel if you're going to try this as a Fibrosis reversal opportunistic treatment, you should evaluate the side effects and certainly ask your doctor's opinion.
As with pretty much all blood pressure medications, there is that ever gnawing and threatening sexual disfunctionality.

After a month of anti-tb medications, my cough still persists, my doctor then prescribed diflucan 150 thinking that I might have a fungal infection aside from tb. i just had 2 caps of diflucan but I now suspect that losartan is the culprit since I am taking it for more than a year now. I came across its adverse effect as I searched for the answer of my persistent cough. Is my suspicion right?

1) a reduction in metoprolol dose, and 2) the addition of non cardio-stimulatory asthma medicines to your regimen to counter-act the seeming impact of the metoprolol on your lungs. This would best be expedited by a conversation between your electrophysiologist and your asthma doctor. The 2 of them could also decide upon which anti-hypertensive medicines might be best, for example hydrochlorothiazide being an effective anti-hypertensive with no effect on one’s lungs.

I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated.
Losartan is a really good drug with few side effects. 50 mg is not a high dose. It should not be causing any of the problems you mention. Ask your doctor.
s that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.

I don't know much about heart disease or high blood pressure but let me tell you a couple things I know about this medication. Lisinopril is used to control high blood pressure and water retention. Too strong of a dosage can cause diarrhea which can cause potassium to drop low.
Losartan - potassium (Cozarr) is used to control hypertension and might be a better fit for your daughters condition as the side effects are similar.

I am taking Losartan, which is the generic of Cozaar. Like Benicar (which is not available in generic yet, I believe) it is an angiotensin II inhibitor.

I have Hashimoto's disease, which means I am HYPOthyroid. Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily.
I do not want to take a bp med, i read that potassium bicarbonat, and bananas, are just as beneifical as taking Losartan ,I know it sounds silly, but I just do not want to take any more meds. I am on Losartan 50 mg sice last few years, Sometime my BP goes berserk ranging from 150-160/90-105. I used to combine atenolo 25 mg and it used to be normal. Now since 5 days back I forgot to take Losartan at my usual time in morning, but took it in evening. What happened that my BP is not cominh down, I take metprolol 25 mg in morning and after an hour or so BP becomes more or less normal but start rising after 9pm and in the morning ranges the same as mentioned earlier.
m male, 22 years old, 6,3 220 pounds athletic build, and I have currently been taking 100mg losartan/hctz 25mg for hypertension about 7 months ago. Since I have been on this medicine I have experienced skipped/extra beats when I exert myself in exercise. It's very troubling because I stop myself every time because I feel like I may be over doing it. The thing is I never had this happen before I started the meds. I also feel my pulse all over like in temples, head, back, legs.....
