Lortab versus percocet for pain

Common Questions and Answers about Lortab versus percocet for pain

percocet

Avatar f tn My Dr prescribed me lortab or percocet for my headaches during pregnancy
Avatar f tn just remember, the number in the front is the amount of codeine (the stronger medicine that offers relief for more intense pain) and the number after the dash is the amount of tylenol in it. And with that, you have to abide by the tylenol restriction of ...4000mgs a day. Dont quote me on that, but i do believe it's 4000. So for every pill you take, you have to take into account your tylenol intake. In My Personal Opinion.
Avatar n tn As for my question, before yesterday I had been taking lortab and percocet for pain, yesterday I was prescribed an extended release morphine and lortab for breakthrough pain. I took the first tablet this morning and I like I am slow, mentally. Is this normal and will it last while I am on this medication? It is not to the point to where I cannot perform my job or drive, etc., but I feel like I just woke up.
Avatar n tn Im wondering how to get back in control of my life, I too like many of the women in here have total legitimate reasons for taking the pills..LORTAB 10, 3 car accidents, 1 which was a head on collision really messed me up and I have deginerated disks and a insane amout of pain in my shoulder. I cant seem to keep the pills under control and I want out, I get sick if I dont take them and I know a huge amount of the problem is mental addiction..relearning how to live without them.
230262 tn?1316645934 Often wondered why lortab can be called in but not percocet. To me the lortab is much more addicting yet easier to get.
709686 tn?1277432159 My doctor has changed my pain med from 10mg Lortab to 75mg MS Contin. I notice that I do not get the high with the MS Contin but how much stronger is this versus the Lortab? I am scared to death about addiction and trying to get off this stuff when the time comes. Thanks.
699217 tn?1323438700 I was getting injections in my elbows at the time and he would give them to me for the pain. I have tennis elbow, along with carpal tunnel and neck pain. Anyway, I didnt have trouble getting off them, but I've read on here about them, and never knew that they could be addictive. He had told me they were non-narcotic also. Anyway, sorry to ramble. Glad to know the differences now though.
8487796 tn?1398343727 testing positive for hydrocodone. The doc says it has to be lortab or dilodid -which I am absolutely not taking either of! (I mean heck, I can't take the whole doses of what they give me most of the time) I'm taking taking Percocet, Opana ER, Lorzone, diazepam, Lyrica, & occasionally a Lidoderm patch. This same thing happened to me about a year & a half ago, at a different doc's office, using a different pharmacy at the time.... I don't understand. How can this be?
2079360 tn?1337016057 I would have asked for a non-narcotic pain relief. They have serveral that work very well. Toradol works wonders for me and its both non-habit forming and non-narcotic. Im sure youre fine, I also dont believe they would give you something that would harm your baby, and OBs know best I would assume. However it is a category C medication, and moms who have taken narcotic medications have been shown to have an increased risk of respiratory depression and withdrawl symptoms from their neonates.
Avatar f tn A LORTAB is basically Vicodin (hyddrocodone), whereas a PERCOCET is a more natural opiate, also called oxycodone. Because oxy is less synthetic, it tends to be a bit stronger. Both meds contain the opiate (either hydro or oxy) and acetaminophen (tylenol). Both are habit forming when used improperly, or for long periods of time. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I have been taking vicodin, lortab, and percocet (not all at once) throughout my pregnancy with the supervision of my Dr. for a very painful neurological disorder. My Dr's have told me that their only concern is that if we cannot get me off these pills (by weaning) by the time that the baby is born that the baby could face withdrawls.
Avatar m tn Hello, I've been on lortab 10/325mg 4X a day for some time due to lumbar issues. My husband got into an accident not too long ago and was prescribed percocet 10mg by his doctor. Last night, our son broke his leg and on our way out of the door, I sked my husband to grab me one of my pills because I knew we would be a the ER for a while. I took it around 10pm last night. A little later, we realized that he had given me the wrong pill.
Avatar m tn Are you ONLY using percocet, or are they using other medications in conjunction with the percocet? I know that my mom is on a whole plethora of drugs to compliment. She takes lortab for the pain, baclofen for the spasms, tizanidine to help her muscles relax, xanax for when the tizanidine doesn't help, and effexor XR (both for depression and the neurological pain relief benefits). There may be one other I'm not remembering as well.
Avatar m tn Im a Fibromyalgia patient with severe body aches and pain bad enough for narcotic pain killers. I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me.
Avatar f tn Lortab, vicodin, or percocet
Avatar f tn It started with lortab 5mg a few times a day... Then after a few surgeries later I was prescribed to lortab 7.5 and Percocet 7.5 for the pain. I am about 8 weeks out of surgery, and the dr. Is still prescribing me these meds. Tomorrow will be day 2 without anything. I have asked my boyfriend to hide them from me, because I know that I was getting out of control, and could not believe how many prescriptions these dr. Keep giving me.
Avatar f tn t get into a doctor soon enough and even with 8 months of pain management records, the local ER gave me 1 days worth of 30% of my dose - for care over the next month while I waited to get into a local pain management doctor, I was referred to a methadone maintaince clinic for PAIN MANAGEMENT... All thanks to the failed war on drugs.
Avatar m tn This keeps you w/the same medication but gives you that extra boost for times in need. If you only take it for breakthrough pain and have exhausted other alternatives your tolerance will still build, but not as quickly as if you are taking it to get the high feeling.
11116547 tn?1415690651 I went home with an antibiotic to try to keep from getting an infection, lortab, and percocet for pain management, as well as strong ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn I am almost 19 weeks pregnant and have been taking percocet for over a year now. The past 6 months I have taken up to 10 10/325 a day. Once I found out I was pregnant, I was lowered to 5/325 and up to 6 a day. That was to big of a drop and she moved me up to 8 a day of the 7.5/3.25 a day. This is my fourth pregnancy and I have never taken a pain medication other than tylenol before while pregnant. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been through this.
Avatar m tn I am going to quit taking my medication tomorrow, I have been taking lortab and percocet for 2 years now.The first year I was taking lortab until it didnt work anymore, and I was taking 8-9 a day, then I told the dr. that I needed something stronger,so he gave me percocet 10/325.I was fine only taking about 3-4 a day,but it has progressed to about 6-7a day for almost a year now.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, my husband has been taking various pain pills (oxy, vicodin, percocet, soma) mainly oxy for a knee injury for last 2 years. We are trying to wean him off of the oxy with percocet. He has gone from taking oxy to about 10 percocet a day to about 5 percocets a day now. My question is he has been having some chest pains through out the day for last 3 days since he has dropped down to 5 a day, is this normal? Should I be getting him to a doctor or is this a normal withdrawal?
Avatar n tn sounds like you in the middle of withdrawals..as for how long its going to last....its different for everyone but typically it usually runs its coarse in about 5 days with day 5 being where you start to see the light again...you had a pritty strong habit at 15 a day for 4 yrs so its going to be a grind the next few days...they make something called "highlands restful legs '' you can get it at walmart or walgreens it will help with the leg thing...
Avatar f tn Percocet seem to make me less productive than Lortab....is this common? ...by the way, ive weened down to 3 percs. a day and plan on weening down to 2 1/2 a day next week....... I m going to the see my doc today and im gonna ask for Lortab and contiune my weening on them....OPIINIONS PLEASE..THANKS..
Avatar f tn A week ago I had surgery to remove the lymph nodes (surgery went well and I was sent home). Now I am on percocet for the pain. I have been able to reduce my doses and think I will be completely off in a couple of days. My doctor said after the surgery, I could start trying to conceive. I was so excited because I have been wanting a baby for about 6 years and my doctors had told me to hold off for a while.
