Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
1644849 tn?1301040874 Could you call the doctor that prescribed the pill and ask some questions, or even if you could get in to see him? And, are you worried about pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I want to know if it is possible to take the pill to regulate my cycle, as well as to lessen the cramps and the bleeding. I have had two periods since I had my son the first one was short and sweet but the second one was awful. I had to change every hour. I have never had cramps or extremely heavy bleeding but now I have both. I don't even get any relief pain wise until I take four pills. I don't want to get into to much detail but its bad.
Avatar f tn I got my period on the 5th of december. I took the morning after pill on the 14 of december. I then started my period again on the 22nd of december. Should I have expected for my regular period to come on the 5th of january? And would I have ovulated again after this second period?
Avatar f tn m starting to get worried. Should I be? I was in the hospital recently with an abscess in my throat and the day after I was released I started my period and it is now 3 weeks later and I am still bleeding and passing alot of clots. A friend told me it could be my body getting rid of all that infection from when I was in the hospital. I am still worried though. Can you give me some advice?? PLEASE????
Avatar f tn I've been off the pill for 3 months after 9 years of taking it (I'm 34 years old). My first menstrual cycle was 40 days, then 33 the next month, then 34 the next--much longer than I'm used to. So here are my questions: Does this mean I ovulate later than if I had, say a 28 day cycle? I'm using a fertility monitor that said I was most fertile on day 13 but this seems wrong considering the long cycle. If I am ovulating later, will this hurt my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn The effects of the pill on your cycle can last for 4-6 weeks. Usually the cycle in which the pill is taken is NOT normal. Usually the next cycle after that one IS normal. Good luck!
1722885 tn?1309474656 A lot of things can cause Amenorrhea, which is the absence of a period. The most common causes are usually problems with the reproductive organs or problems with hormone levels, though it seems your hormone levels are fine as they already checked that. Some medications and birth control can cause you to not have a period as well. A low body weight or obesity can cause your period to cease or never even begin. Excessive exercise can cause this as well.
Avatar f tn I have only been married for about a month and a half and am definitely not ready to get pregnant. I have been on the pill, but my monthly placebo pill week happens to be over valentines day weekend! If I assume correctly, I will be ovulating while on the placebo pills and before I start bleeding so we will need to use a condom or somthing, but what about after I get done bleeding? Do we still need to use a condom after the bleeding and before I'm done with the placebo pills?
Avatar f tn I decided to go on the pill because I wanted to regulate my cycle because I hate not knowing when my next period is gonna show up. Plan on staying on the pill til we try for another.
Avatar f tn stress can mess up your cycle, so can diet and many other factors. have you started taking the pill or any other hormonal contraceptive? have you recently stopped using the pill, contraceptive? your doctor needs to do some futher investigation into this.
Avatar f tn t have a lot of knowledge on this but I know that it can take a while to get your cycles back on track. I took the mini pill after 3 of my babies. That is the pill given when you are breastfeeding. Anyway, it affected me different each time I took it. I don't know why either. After I stopped taking it the last time. It took me a really long time to get regulated again. I'd say like 4 or 5 months. My cycles were REALLY long those months.
628735 tn?1273875777 the other benefit of the BC is to stop the endometriosus from spreading again. the dr seems to think that the pain, even after the surgery, is because the endo was so bad and it will always be like this unless im on the pill or have a hysterectomy. stupid thing is the pain from the endo didn't get bad until after the MC! so if i didn't want to TTC it would be all good and i would probably deal with all this much better... but as you all know i do want to get pregnant.
Avatar m tn bt we didnt wanna take risk so i gave her a i- pill. after four five days after taking i - pill she had bleeding jst for hardly 2 minutes and it continued for two days...nw her this month menstrual cycle is not coming today is her 36th day and we worried very much is she pregnant or not because bleeding took place after taking that particular medicine ....we are very worried help us out......wat to do????????
Avatar f tn I have taken it several times. Sometimes it was a few days after the last pill and even up to a week afterwards it just depends. I am in the same boat as you this month. I'm waiting for AF to start 150mg clomid. If AF doesn't come on it's own I have a prescription for provera too. Best of luck!!
Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and have been on the pill for 3 months, during the first month I was on anti-biotics and did not have sex with my boyfriend until I had been off this medication for 1 pill pack, since then we have had sex and I have not missed any pills. I am up to my third sugar pill and have not began my period, is it possible I am pregnant?
Avatar n tn No, HPV will not affect your menstrual cycle, there must be some other cause for it. Is there any possibility of pregnancy? Have you had a LEEP or cone biopsy at all due to dysplasia caused by HPV? It may be time to make an appointment with a doctor.
Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
Avatar f tn yes, the 24th was the first day. I don't know how long your cycle is but every now and then they change. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. It happens to everyone.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn Now I resumed taking the pill in the middle of my menstrual cycle starting from the first tablet (I was supposed to get back on the pill on the first day of my period but I stupidly decided to start taking the pill without waiting for my period to begin). What is going to happen to me? (I didn't have sex all this time so I can't be pregnant).
Avatar f tn You may be having a long cycle resulting in a later period and this is spotting beforehand. That has happened to me. While pregnancy 'could' happen, it is less likely in the mid to late 40's. Have you had a pelvic exam any time recently?
