1674823 tn?1307263620 I have been noted to have domed fingernails but not apparently 'clubbed' They have been like this as long as I can remember What might cause domed nails but not clubbed. ???
Avatar m tn The problem is that on friday I had sex with a female sex worker. She had long fingernails. I have putted the condom in my penis and rejected receiving oral sex (fearing her teeth would rupture the condom), then she putted her fingers on the tip of the condom, rolling them on it (maybe verifying remaining air there). My fear is that while verifying if there was air in the tip of the condom, she has made some kind of hole in it.
Avatar f tn does anyone know what can cause the reddish blue half moon on all of my fingers? they seem to be worse on my thumbs. thanks.
Avatar m tn m not talking about transmitting it to my penis but contracting it on my finger tips) The reason why I believe this is because I clipped my fingernails right before the incident and I accidentally went too deep into the skin causing it to slightly bleed. I am scared because I pressed extremely hard into the toy and with all that pressure I realized that it's possible for the virus to enter through my skin.
Avatar f tn I have these white lines on my fingernails that run parallel to the cuticle. They have areas in the white line that are heavier and make the line look like a spot. They cover the nail in it's entirety. I have taken zinc for year now with no real change. I am concerned about taking too much zinc since it was removed from some dental products. My hypoyroidism is controlled with medication. I do not suffer trauma to my hands. I am 55 yes old and have had these for as long as I can remember.
745313 tn?1323142298 I knew about the thinning hair, which I am experiencing to a much, MUCH worse degree than I expected (but hey, it's summer!! ) But I have never read anything about tx affecting your fingernails. It only makes sense, as they are both made of the same thing - but has anyone else had this problem? Mine are awful! They are like paper, thin, peeling, and constantly ripping, even though they are cut completely short.
Avatar n tn Have you used any dark nail varnish without using a basecoat? That too can cause yellowing on the nails. Liver problems like terin400 mentioned, smoking (which I doubt that you smoke), some medications as well as an unhealthy diet lacking in Vitamin A, B, zinc, protein, calcium and iron. You may benefit from a multivitamin supplement suitable for your age group. But make sure that you eat a healthy and balanced diet consisting of meat, milk, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts.
Avatar n tn WOW! An answer from both doctors! Doctors, I just got back from a nice long vacation to find both you answered my question! ( I forgot my username password, please forgive that!) Dr Hook -- when you say masturbation, you mean mutual masturbation right? I want to make sure because I work construction and get cuts and scrapes on my hands all the time -- especially near the tips of my fingers and fingernails.
Avatar f tn Use hot water and soap to be sure along with a clean towel or paper towels. Some men diagnosed with HPV do not use the same hand on their sex partner that they use on themselves to prevent infecting their partner. They have found the virus under people's fingernails. The virus probably remains on one's hands for some time. Here's two links that you should read. http://www.*****************/c/HPV/advice/17498219-masturbating http://www.hpvsupport.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?
Avatar f tn do you have long fingernails, or fingernails that aren't VERY short? You may have simply been tender and sensitive and you scratched yourself.
Avatar f tn I have been on thryoid medication for a few years now. The doctor says my thyroid hormone levels fluctuates as do my symptoms. My fingernails are the worst and I am so very tired and weak. They are very soft and thin with ridges. I thought the synthyroid was supposed to help with these issues. Am I wrong and is something else going wrong This discussion is related to Fingernails indicative of thyroid problems?.
Avatar f tn Anyone have terrible fingernails with their VDD? I ask because for the past few years my nails have been very blah, the minute they start to grow they just split and peel. Now, I have noticed being on the VD for the past few weeks/months my nails finally seem to be growing slowly and not splitting or peeling, yet anyhow.
Avatar f tn t really hurt - feel weird though. Sometimes they have that current off and on all day long.
Avatar f tn I'm a 50 year old woman and my fingernails have begun to curl as they get longer?
Avatar m tn Hand infection is not well understood. Most doctors would say that there is zero chance of this but there are cases of the virus being diagnosed under one's fingernails. This is why people who are infected use one hand on themselves and their other hand on their partners. The odds of you being infected by her doing that is too minor to worry about. Genital skin rubbing is the primary cause of infection and that takes a lot of rubbing.
Avatar m tn Any answers on what this might be and any advise on what test or other doctor I can see to pinpoint a diagnosis?
Avatar m tn HPV has been found under fingernails. In fact, they found this virus under the fingernails of Egyptian mummies. So it is remotely possible you were infected by this sex act, but is very low odds. Still 25x of this increases the odds.
Avatar m tn While smoking with my dirty fingers I flicked the cigarette ash with my nails that I used to pick up the plaster. There were small traces of the blood from the plaster on my fingernails. At that time also I just bit my lip accidentally 2 hours before so it was still an open wound. Pls help me good counselors, what if the blood on my fingernails from the plaster was transferred to the cigarette filter and came into contact with my lip cut? Pls help me. Am I at risk?
1067423 tn?1267740670 Hey there, girl.....I don't know. It sounds terrible. When I was getting chemo, I had an eruption of psoriasis and I lost my toenails and they aren't coming back....chemo ended 5 years ago. I hurt my toes all the time; but I know it would be much worse if it was my finger nails. I wish I could offer some help. Maybe someone will come along and know something helpful. Have you spoken to your doc or your chemo team about this? That's a good place to start.
Avatar m tn I had vaginal sex with her , was using a condom, and she also scratched my back with her fingernails, which caused me some superficial bleeding . To my knowledge she had no wounds on her fingers or elsewhere on her body. I also had cunnilingus with her, where my tongue touched her clitoris. As I do not know her well, despite the fact she has assured me she is free of any infections, I m becoming concerned whether there is any realistic risk of any infection, especially HIV or Hepatitis C.
Avatar f tn based on my research online, the only instances I can find a brown lines on the hands and fingernails occurred in people who have parasitic infections. After contact, I am now getting the brown lines in (not under) my fingernails without injury. Also peeling between the fingers.
