Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?

All of my friends and doctors have recommended against the shot since it has so many side effects and is irreversible. They have tried to get me on the implant, but that just isn't for me.

I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. the first two you listed are for weight loss and i dont think your supposed to really combine them

I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. I'm 23 and on birth control (Loestrin 24). Normally my periods are somewhat regular, but really light and short. Last month I didn't have one, but I did have some slight spotting before my period was supposed to come. This month my period also skipped. I have no other symptoms of PCOS except some acne on my chin (but occasional breakouts are not uncommon for me, I have oily skin, plus an expired skin product and eating wheat with my allergy may have caused this).

I would research other methods of weight loss as opposed to going into drugs, where the side effects will eventually wear off anyway. Best wishes.

Mine did, and now I can only feel it a tiny bit if my feet are in the same position for a long time (i.e. computer chair rail). It definitely has a side effect of weight loss. I was on lo loestrin fe for about 10 days off and on because I either forgot, or I just couldn't take the side effects any longer. I got my period shortly after of course (2 weeks before it was due) that was last month. The husband and I have had unprotected sex, and I'm 4 days late. I also have IIH,PTC.I was diagnosed two years ago, have a VP shunt, was never overweight, and still have all the problems associated with our illness. I have back problems and the extra weight was brutal. Soon as as switched to Topamax (which has weight loss side effects) I lost the extra weight plus. Seizure meds are tough. They all have very extreme side effects. I've been on 4 different ones and I found that over time my body would get used of the side effects. Depakote was definately one of the better ones for me.
