Avatar f tn I'm 37 and positive I have endo: horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, exhaustion, never been pregnant, lots of gastro problems, constipation, etc. I also gained 15 pounds in 2 months and went up two cup sizes with no change in diet or activity level whatsoever. (Does endo cause weight gain??) My new gyne said there's an 80% chance it's endo, put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which stopped my period after the first dose, but I had horrible side effects after just a few days.
Avatar f tn I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly? Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn Sorry i completely skipped reading the bleeding part! I actually did bleed, it wasnt too heavy, i did have to wear a pad/panty liner tho just because i wasnt sure if it was gonna stop or whatnot. But it only lasted about 2 days.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I have recently started taking Lo loestrin Fe for my birth control for almost 2 months now and have been having almost continuous bleeding. That was the only problem until about two weeks ago. Now I'm having serious bloating, headaches, fatigue, cramping, mood swings, and crazy heartburn even when I don't eat anything. This was the exact string of symptoms when I found out I was pregnant with my son. I took a test but it came out negative.
Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I am 19, and this is my first month with the birth control lo loestrin fe. I am not sexually active in the sense I have not had sex yet, but my boyfriend and I have touched each other and done oral. During this month I've taken all my pills except during the 3rd week I forgot to take a pill one day, and despite taking it again when I remembered, I forgot to take he other on time too. So maybe that's what threw me off. But all I know is soon after I started having brown discharge.
Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar f tn Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
Avatar f tn Hi, I hope someone can help me, since I can't go to the gyn until Jan. 12. So, my boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive for a few months, and I recently had a miscarriage, right after that I've been experiencing heavy bleeding for almost two months straight, with some abdominal pain as well.. Any suggestions ? Advice? Help? Thank youuuu!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn So, I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe June 2nd. Also, I feel like I should mention this is the first time I've ever been on birth control. So this is start of week 7. And since July 7th or so, I've gone between spotting to regular period bleeding. (Not that i bleed very heavy at all, but still.) And along with that, I'm cramping worse than ever. Also, it's made me the moodiest most emotional person since the second week of taking it.
Avatar f tn I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Avatar n tn I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Hi, I recetly experienced very heavy bleeding that lasted for over a month.. Then I went to the ER because it was way too much.. Then, the doctor told me I should consider to start using birth control, because I need more hormones in order to have a regular period( I've always had very regular periods evey 30 days, except this one time).. So which types of birth control are better? Which ones are not as effective? Would it affect me if I want to conceive?
Avatar f tn myself on the otherhand i was on the pill for 5 years and the only side effects I had was my period became shorter and less heavy (thank god) before BC i had my period for 7-8 days straight with heavy bleeding and clotting so the pill worked for me and helped a lot so youll never really know how your bodys going to react until you actually take it..
Avatar m tn Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?
Avatar f tn I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
Avatar f tn Hello, Spotting or bleeding while on active pills is quite common in the first cycle of pills or if pills are missed or taken late. Bleeding may be very light or can be as heavy as a period and may occur anytime in the cycle of active pills. It is important to take the pill at the same time every day .These symptoms will usually improve as you continue additional cycles of pills and should not be occurring by the end of the third cycle..
486679 tn?1234575929 i was taking my birth control pill loestrin 24 for about 6 months and suddenly began bleeding mid way through my pills.not heavy like a perios very lightly but nonstop for almost 2 weeks.i was unsure why this was so i stopped my pills and sure enough the bleeding stopped.problem is that i stopped them mid way through and was supposed to get my actual period the following thursday.now here it is almost 2 weeks s/p stoppin the pills and i have not yet gotten a period or any signs of one at all.
Avatar f tn m not sure which birth control pill you are taking, but I assume it is Loestrin 24 Fe from your title. Yes, it is a little unusual that you started bleeding so early on after starting your birth control pills and that you have been bleeding for so long. It may be related to the fact that you haven't had a period for 2.5 years. Your uterine lining has been building up for 2.5 years. Remember normally, your uterine lining is shed every month. But you have not had a period for 2.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
562936 tn?1216219564 Probably just a strange way your body is taking to the birth control. I take it and when I switched to it from yaz I had dark colored break through bleeding, but only lasted a few days. Call your gyno.
Avatar n tn then started bleeding like a normal (heavy) period on Jan 29 (would be around the time my next period would have been if I did not start birth control. my cycles were around 33-35 days) which lasted until Feb 3 (6 days). I took a first response early detection pregnancy test with 1st AM urine on Feb 5 (16 days after sex) & it was negative.
Avatar f tn ive recently been put on loestrin fe and have been experiening changes.what should i do??
Avatar f tn But there was 1 time that I had a period for 3 mo straight and it was very heavy!!! I had to take Loestrin 3 times/day for a week to stop my period & I havent had one since then. ( which is about a year since my last period) So my doctor gave me provera (medroxyprogesterone) to take for 10 days to induce a period. I finally got my period a week later and I am on my 6th day now.
