Loestrin breakthrough bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin breakthrough bleeding

loestrin

pills and starting your active pills. But, it's different with every person whether or not you will still have breakthrough bleeding, your cycle, or just skip it. I am on Loestrin 24 and I did that and I spotted for a day, only when I wiped and that was it. I didn't bleed until my next cycle. It's not harmful, unless you continue to do this for every cycle. But, I was told by my doctor it was ok for special things, like vacation, wedding, etc.
Hello, I wouldn't double up on the Loestrin. It is normal to have breakthrough bleeding when taking the pill continuously. I usually tell my patients to stop the pill until "normal" menses begins, then start them again when the bleeding stops. Make sure to use back up contraception if you have intercourse during the time you are off of the pill. Best regards, Dr.
I've had breakthrough bleeding pretty much all of July, and now most of August. I finally had a week of no bleeding, but as of two days ago, I am bleeding again even though in week two of pill pack. I take my pill at the same time every single day. I recently relocated out of state, and am in between insurances-- my previous employer's insurance has ended, and my new employer's insurance does not kick in for 60 days.
ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.
I am on my 3rd year of being on Loestrin 24 FE and in the first month or two I had the regular spotting and breakthrough bleeding. However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
I've been on Loestrin for a month, and have had a little bit of breakthrough bleeding. In the past I've been on Lo-ovral, Alesse, and another strong one I don't remember the name of. Compared to those others, this one rules! The side effects are practically non-existent. Give it a try!
As I was reading info about Loestrin, I saw many women posted skipping their period all together the first few months. This opposite of what my doctor said might happen. She said I might have some break through bleeding but try to hold out a few months because it should stop. Anyway, any info on this pill and experience will greatly be appreciated! I am driving to the beach with my two little kids for 12 hours. I should get my period the day we leave! It will be miserable!
Hello, I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
Hello, The spotting that you had because of continuously taking the birth control pills is breakthrough bleeding. Now since you have started the placebo pills again after taking the active pills, you should get your periods in a few days. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Stress could be causing some breakthrough bleeding. This could especially be the case if you missed a pill. I wouldn't be too worried unless when your monthly bleed (not truly a period) is due it doesn't come.
I've heard that it can cause some breakthrough bleeding/spotting, but not bleeding every day! Sheesh, that *****. It's really new, and though it's FDA approved, I was skeptical when I heard about it. I'd go back to your doc... Don't give up, there is probably a pill out there that can make your periods more manageable. Have you tried Depo Provera, or Loestrin? Something that would at least reduce the frequency & heaviness? That might be better than having bleeding every day.
lots of bleeding, cramping and passed a clot. But I had been bleeding and spotting since about week 5 and I don't know if the subchorionic hemorrhage caused all the bleeding/spotting or not. It all stopped exactly at 18weeks(thank God)and I'm now at 21weeks2days. Everything seems to be going good now, heard my baby's heartbeat yesterday and feel it moving everyday, still have 2 weeks to wait for next u/s, and praying that goes well.
i, however, do not have any pain or cramping whatsoever, just bleeding. do you know what else could possibly cause bleeding after orgasm? it's gotten to the point where i don't masturbate anymore and i don't wait to reach orgasm during intercourse with my boyfriend because it's so grotesque and messy. what could it be?
Hello, You should not take twice the dose the same day without consulting your doctor as it may cause hormonal imbalance which can aggravate breakthrough bleeding or spotting. You should take the birth control pills as prescribed and if you want to miss your periods then you may have to take the active pills continuously. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
I had a laparoscopy on march 22nd, and since the beginning of march i've been taking Yasmin (i've tried loestrin 24 and lo-ovral previously but each failed, causing extreme constant break through bleeding, causing me a lot of pain, and acne as well). I take four packs of yasmin before doing a week of placebos. Towards the end of the second pack I starded having occasional light break through bleeding.
Hey, Thanks for your reply. I've heard of it from several different people who never had STDs of any kind so I think it may be possible, I don't know. I've also read online that yeast and BV are 2 of the 10 most common reasons for bleeding during/after sex. So are you saying that the test was a false positive for UTI? I know yeast infections don't turn into BV, I guess I worded that wrong. But in my experience, I always get a yeast infection which is quickly followed by BV after treatment.
On November 12,2009 i started to have some bleeding. It was brown and then turned red.The doctor told me it was breakthrough bleeding due to my birth control. I had unprotected sex on the 21st of November. My boyfriend pulled out but we did not use a condom. I was beyond scared so I took planb. I was told, I most likely did not need planb because i take my birth control regularly. I still took it to help me settle my mind. The day after i took it, i noticed clear discharge.
This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly? Thanks so much!
I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Starting birth control pills can cause some breakthrough bleeding or you could have bleeding in pregnancy. I hope everything works out the way you would like. Also, it's recommend that you use a back up form of birth control in addition to your first pack of pills.
On Saturday I took my pill as usually but less than an hour later got sick, not pill related, but I hadn't digested it, so basically that pill was rendered ineffective. Sunday (yesterday) I started bleeding again. Not just light breakthrough bleeding, but having a full period. It is even heavier today, even though I took my pill as usual on Sunday. It is common to get your period after missing just one pill (I am only in the second week of the pack)?
I have taken every single pill (some within a 3 hour window) and have had some breakthrough bleeding throughout the past few months. On my first pack I had my period (when I started the pills in January) then some breakthrough a couple days later (lasting four days), following a normal period when it was due in early February. I then had unprotected sex (pull out method) on the day starting the second pack and then 3 days later.
My first month I had a few days of breakthrough bleeding but my period was on time. The 2nd month I had no breakthrough bleeding and everything was on time perfectly. Now this month, I've taken all of my pills on time except one, which I was two hours late. About two weeks to a week ago, in the middle of the package of pills, I had a week of brown discharge. It was light and light brown at first, but it got darker, heavier, and lasted a week. There was some blood too.
But it is not without side effects which include nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, enlargement, changes in menstrual bleeding, breakthrough bleeding, rise in blood pressure, gall stones and increased chances of blood clots. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
and i am just concerned because my period which is usually 5 days has become what seems to be 10 days. and i would like to know if this is actually breakthrough bleeding, so something chlamydia related that i should be worried about.
During this time I had brown spotting which I figured was normal breakthrough bleeding. After I started into the pills that allows my period to start ( Day 2 of my period) I started passing large , quarter sized clots everytime I sit or lay for a period of time. The bleeding is light-average with the clots. I assume it's because I tried to skip my period so soon after starting birth control ? Anyone with insight to this?
Have you experienced breakthrough bleeding before? I notice that the pills low in estrogen can cause that, especially if you miss one. If it persists and the bleeding becomes heavier and longer, I suggest speaking to the gyno to rule out pregnancy.
