loestrin and microgestin

I went and got a pap done about two weeks ago, at that time i was also tested for chlamydia and gono. My chlamydia came back postive. My first dose of Azithromycin i threw up nearly two hours after taking it, after taking a second dosage, and keeping it down i assume everything would be fine and dandy. Unfortunately, that was about 8 days ago, and i'm still experiencing a bloody discharge. As a side note, I also started my birth control again (Microgestin).

t had my period in those last four months. I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?

I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?

Actually, both of those are generics for the brand names Loestrin and Microgestin. Generics all have their own names but from a chemical standpoint, the active ingredients are identical to the name brand. Where Junel and Blisovi differ is just in the inactive ingredients.

Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill. The only thing that I have done probably incorrectly with pill use is only a couple of times I took it maybe an hour and a half/two hours late. I’ve spotted quite often- not as badly as before.

I am on the oral contraception Lo Loestrin Fe and I just started my placebo pills of my second pack yesterday. I was on this BC last year for 3 months then got off because of breakthrough bleeding constantly- tried Microgestin and it was awful so I decided to try this pill again. I've bleed quite a bit on this pill with spotting. My last period was from Feb 4-10th. Then I had unprotected sex (pull out method) on Feb 11th and 14th.

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

Let me just start off by saying the worst decision of my life was starting on microgestin. I started taking microgestin last July and within days I was feeling dizzy and i called my ob and she advised me to keep taking them that my body just had to get used to them. So I did. About a week later I suffered from my 1st panic attack at a meeting at work. Then I knew it was from microgestin. So I took myself off of them.

I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???

I am on Loestrin 24 and had the same issue. I also have cramps the week before, during, and after my period. I have cramps for like three weeks out of the month. They seem to be getting worse too. And I am crazy emotional. Do you have any other side effects?

Have you tried any other pills? You might just be sensitive to the type of estrogen and progesteron Microgestin uses or need a different balance, etc., to not experience the mood symptoms. I had issues with sensitivity to smell, nausea, and other things, but I changed the time I took it. However, I think you need to talk to your gynecologist about trying something else as you're getting mood symptoms.

i was put on the birthcontrol called loestrin. ive been on loestrin for a little over 6 months now and all of a sudden one day i couldnt have sex anymore because it hurt so much. as time passed this pain went away but now as of today just him inserting it for one second and then all of a sudden ever since it has hurt to pee.why is this?

I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.

I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????

It is usally a lot darker than a normal period and doesnt last as long. Taking Microgestin can cause bleeding between periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods, especially during the first few months of use. You should take a pregnacy test just to make sure. Also because you have stopped taking your birthcontrol, your cycle and body is changing. Which can also cause a change in your period.

Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. did explain to us that they can only get what they can see. Dr. started her on Loestrin 24 and said hopefully in a few months the pain will get better. If not, we are looking at Lupron shots.

I just started taking Microgestin and I'm liking it so far. Does anyone have any information on this birth control and how do you like it personally?

Same here, I've been taking microgestin fe 1/20 for about 5 months now and the namebrand version of it for around 6 months before that. I feel very pregnant, did not get my period during the placebo pills, and now 8 days after the last of my sugar pills i quit my birth control since i feel like this and it could be pregnancy if not i feel gross anyways.

) and if you took the test to early you could get a false neg. in fact a lot of women have that happen. I've had that happen. If you still don't get it in a couple days I would test again or get a blood test done.

I've personally never heard of breakthrough bleeding meaning that you aren't protected... You are probably thinking that because sometimes breakthrough bleeding is caused by missing pills or not taking them on time. I used to have really bad breakthrough bleeding issues before my laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, and it would happen with every pill, but I remember I had a lot of it when I was on loestrin for some reason.

I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
