Little white bumps on tongue that hurt

Common Questions and Answers about Little white bumps on tongue that hurt

bumps

What surface of the tongue are they on? The top part of the tongue, or the underside? Look up pictures of "geographic tongue" because that occurs on the top part of the tongue. If it is on the bottom, it could be some canker sores because they occur on these spots. Either one, it would just be palliative treatment. Use some numbing gel - all your dentist will give you is, at most, a steroid rinse. See if it goes away within 7 days. If it doesn't, then go to your dentist.

The problem here is that those white bumps and or white coating in the back of your tongue is a collection of sulfer compounds which is typically a direct result from a dry mouth and or a low saliva secretion rate which allows the bacteria that makes those smelly fumes to develop at a rapid pace. Remember that saliva has oxygen and it's this oxygen that destroys the bacteria.
For the last couple days I've been getting little white bumps on my tongue. My mom diagnosed them as canker sores. I've gotten them in the past, but usually only one and they last 2 -4 days max. At the beginning of the week I got one. I figured it would go away soon, so I ignored the pain and tried not to bite at it. Well, by the next morning there was another one and today there is another one. The first one started to go away a bit, but I'm worried I'm only going to get more.
Also, I looked inside of my mouth because I had been feeling bumpy things but I just thought it was from my braces. There are these little white bumps in the inside of my bottom lip. Also, at the top of my top lip there is something that looks like skin is coming off of the inside of my lip. It's completely white and when I went to pull on my lip, it came off. My top and bottom left side of my lips are also very puffy. Usually, if it was from braces it'd be gone by now.
I've had these little white bumps under my tongue, on the roof of my mouth towards the throat and on the inside of my lower lip for about a year and a half. They do not hurt. They are uncomfortable as my mouth feels rough using my tongue. They just appeared one day. I have been going to many specialist in Vancouver over the past year and a half and have stumped them all so far.
About 4 days ago I noticed that i got little cuts on the corners of my lips and that there was a little white thing on it that looked like a pimple but it isnt, and the tip of my tongue reallyyy hurts like crazyy. I have noticed that there are little white bumps on it .. and i usually never have that. And im not sure if this has something to do with that but my tonsils also hurt like a mother. Its so hard to eat and drink and swallow because they feel like theres a knife stabbing them.

I have had small little pink bumps on the bac of ma tongue and a white patch on my tongue. I have had this problem for ablout a month now. I always look it up to see what it could be and i neva get any results. The bumps never hurt they r jus there..
For the past 2 months now, every so often I have little white bumps (they look a little like cankers) that flare up on the tip of my tongue. They are not painful but just irritating and a little sensitive. Sometimes many bumps flare up and other times, maybe one or two flare up. Along with the bumps, I will get a bit of a scratchy throat. It does not hurt but like the little bumps, it just feels a bit irritating.
I've been suffering for days because of these white bumps on the tip and side of my tongue. I tried cutting off the white pieces with a cuticle cutter needless to say that failed miserably and caused much more pain the following day. I went on the internet to check out wtf was going on and stumbled upon this page. I tried out kelseyreneefuller's suggestion of dipping my tongue into pretty hot unsweetened tea and although it hurt to keep it longer than 1 second I kept doing it.
Three or four days later my mouth felt better. My throat doesn't hurt and my tongue is pink again. I still get gunk on it that makes it greyish. That comes off with a scraper.
The rational part of my brain says go see your dentist, but I couldn't resist writing in since I know I won't see my dentist for another month. There are bumps as well on that side along the top row of teeth on my cheek, but they are slightly larger, are the same color as my cheek and have been there for years (although more of them have popped up). Is there any reason I should rush to the dentist for either of these bumps or am I okay just waiting another month until my six month checkup?

-White tongue -Bumps in the tongue (front part) I have been diagnosed with oral thrush :( Have you had an oral swab to confirm if you have oral thrush or not?
It started about 4-5 days ago. I am not sure if the bumps on the tip of my tongue are related to the cut on my lip or not. I think i may have burned my lip somehow while under the influence this weekend, but I'm not sure. I can't remember it happening. I'll stay away from acidic foods and beverages if that helps, and I will stop with the "harsh" methods. I read that oral herpes show up as little red bumps on your tongue, or as white bumps on the end of your tongue.

I was really sick, getting sicker and on Levaquin--on 4-6 wks, off 4-6 wks. I noticed that for me, the orange tongue correlated with how sick I felt (mind you I do/did have other complicating factors not necessarily relevant to the orange tongue theory so I'll spare you). Long story short- I found a doctor who finally treated me for Lymes with Doxycycline and I low and behold, I got better and consequently--no more orange tongue (it's been a year since treatment).
i was put on antibiotics and the white spots went away and my tonsils went down, a little. 3 weeks after that i was back at the dr. with swollen tonsils still and sore throat with white spots again, strep! put on antibiotics. tonsils went down alittle, white spots gone, throat better. 4 weeks after that back at the dr. with still swollen tonsils and sore throat, tonsillitis again! i was sent to an ENT.
i used to have a rash in the crevice on both sides of my nostrils and in my groin area when i was younger but i havent had a problem with that for a long time, but i do still have a problem with moderately itchy bumps that form on my scalp, usually in the very back of the scalp and sometimes they have a pus and sometimes they dont. those come and go. sorry for the nauseating description but any suggestions with that would also be helpful. thanks!!!
Mucocele Growth A mucocele growth occurs when there is a leak or split in the salivary glands thus causing the saliva to leak and gather in a white air sac under the tongue, that may sometimes be painful. These bumps on tongue that hurt can also be formed under it. Solution Even though the body tries to correct this ailment by itself, sometimes the duct may continue to leak and therefore not be corrected by itself.
way further down on my tongue are just a bunch of bumps. They don't hurt or itch. All j felt was mucus in my throat. & Monday I was really stressing out causing me to have a headache & my ear ached a lil.Tuesday I didn't have an ear ache a slight headache.& by Wednesday I then noticed bumps on my throat right behind the vulva. I went to the drs that day& she looked at them& said they didn't look like blisters or fluid filled. She checked my ears n nose.
17 days later, I noticed two red sores at the tip of my tongue that did not hurt at all. They disappeared 4 days later. However, they came back two weeks ago on Friday, this time with three (one on the side a lil) and lasted 3 days. I also had a white bump at the back of my throat that time. This last Sunday, they came back and it was all over my mouth; gums were so swollen, tongue was also swollen with the red bumps coming and going. Made it very hard to drink and eat over the week.
Last night my tongue started to hurt and I noticed a sore on the middle of my tongue. Now I haven't had intercourse or oral sex in at least 5 months. I was dating a girl for about 2 weeks and and broke off with her when I found she had slept with a random guy without protection. In this 2 week period nothing sexually transpired between us but we did make-out. I get cold sores about 2 - 4 times a year. I do have a tongue ring and took it out when I noticed the sore.
Today i noticed 2 raised bumps backside of my tongue on both sides. (someone said that they are taste buds) one is little more raised than the other one. I don't know about exact length ( maybe quarter of an inch) but they are visible I could see them from the mirror inside my car. They do not hurt or anything. They are harder than the my regular tongue skin. I know for sure that they were not there 2 days ago because I do look inside me mouth quite often.
