There's also a big different between whole grains and highly refined grains, which means that eating grains usually means white flour wheat to most people. That's not a calorie problem as much as a quick metabolizing to sugar problem, and unburnt sugar stores as fat.

There are always foods that are better, neutral, and not so good within every category, but since there are so many theories of eating, and different food tolerances, this isn't answerable in general but only in a way that's specific way to you.

Avatar f tn Lots of vegetables, low carbs, low fat intake. Avatar n tn It sounds like you're making good food choices as a vegetarian. I would mix up the nuts a bit more, just to keep from focusing on just one or the other, in order to prevent yourself from becoming intolerant to any of them. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this.

1729448 tn?1342094737 Hi, I'm just curious about food. You see, I'm 17 and my moms on a fixed income. I LOVE fruits and vegetables, but they're expensive. My mom does her best to buy them for me, but it's hard as it is. I know they're good for you too. I try to eat a balanced diet, but that's hard when stuffs so expensive, and I don't have a huge appetite. So my thoughts are, what kinds of fruits/vegetables have the biggest variety/most vitamins etc that are good for you?
Avatar f tn low glycemic index carbohydrates.they are healthier..protein ( lean meats).. Fruits and vegetables and canola oil. Olive oil.are healthier. Fruits.vegetable sticks.use plain yogurt instead of mayo with your tuna and make your own tartar sauce using plain yogurt and still add relish( portion control)..place your snacks in zip lock bags . bring to work.nibble on celery..carrots..etc.
