New antibiotics or combinations of drugs must be used to treat these resistant strains.4 Ampicillin, amoxicillin, or some type of penicillin used to be recommended for the treatment of gonorrhea. Because penicillin-resistant gonorrhea is increasing, other antibiotics that are given by injection such as ceftriazone or spectinomycin now are used to treat most gonoccal infections. Other new antibiotics can be taken by mouth.
The new guy was only chosen because the ms specialist that helped my neuro dx me in July was on an extended personal leave of absence. Now she is back, and if I ever need to- I will be able to see her. My doctor is relieved that we didn't start Gilenya- but I think until we know more, we shouldn't count that drug out completely. They all come with risks.
Get her a phone number of some girl in NA and leave that wit her to. The situation can be a matter of life and death, so don't give up on her. when people get clean it is amazing the transformation in thier personalty .They go from a real horses ass to wonderfully nice person and freind. these situations don't happen for no reason at all, there is a greater purpose at work.
Great, that would be my luck to get a weird strain of Lyme! Weird things tend to happen to me! Who is Nick Harris? How do I get a hold of him? My doctor just laughs at me when I tell her what I think I have so mentioning anything to her is just going to be a waste of time. Do you know anything I can start taking now, say over the counter or natural that may help the symptoms? Like I said, I'm desperate...
When I had my ankle surgery I was in the hospital longer than expected, but decided to go home (myself) because I didn't have my Avonex and it was past the time for it. Part of the reason I hadn't brought it was that it is supposed to be refrigerated, and who knows whether they would have taken care of it. They even lost another of my prescriptions. I explained what Avonex is for, and that it is an interferon. Several people chirped up with, 'Oh, we have interferons. We can give you that.
Honey if your husband is spitting up rusty looking colored stuff that is a serious form of pneumonia and he needs to be admitted to a hospital . I do believe that is the only thing that helped me was going to the hospital . I felt like I was going to die that night if I did not go .Please get yourself and your husband to a hospital .
I can see how that happens after searching on my own and finding that my symptoms fit part of this and part of that etc. Wouldn't it be nice if someone were to invent a computer that hooks up to the body and tells you what is wrong with it similar to a car!!!!! Sometimes I get to a point where I give up ever knowing what is wrong with me and then there are times when it gets to me so bad that I start back at the beginning searching for answers.
they offer a very significant amount of vitamin A and folic acid which are very important to the development of your baby....you need to be eating your veggies! and the darker the color of the vegetable the more vitamins it contains! natural bacterias that vegetables hold wont hurt you while pregnant but the chemicals used on some may and thats why its important to wash all of your vegetables before eating.
and insurances will have to pay for the routines tests AND for the cures now available, before the viruses have time to get any more resistant. Now that there is help, folks need to be diagnosed earlier and hence more will be saved.
Thank u for all ur advice! I'll try to find & read that book. I would love to be able to eat raw vegetables, Love cauliflower, broccoli, pretty much any vegetable, but had to give them up a long time ago. Cant eat green beans or ANY kind of beans 4 that matter. They cause too much pain, gas, bloating. What are 'cultured' vegetables? And what do u think a Good probiotic would be?
I am so sorry that you developed a cataract after having 20/60 vision, but am so very happy to hear that you now have 20/40 vision. That should be almost normal. Having that blank spot must be irritating, but we all have to live with something, unfortunately. I have distortions from the pucker, and the retina sp. will see me again and test my vision in Nov. 2012. We will see then whether my vision is improving or going worse.
I know it feels great to finally be out of the house, and even better that you're telling more people about the baby! :) I totally know what you mean! I thought getting on the meds would help us, but I think they're only making things worse! My cycles were always fine before, and now I'm having annovulatory cycles more and more often! If these injections don't do the trick, we'll just let my body get back to normal and let it happen when it's supposed to happen!
- You shake a bottle of salad dressing and think your boobs might explode because of the pain - You try to hide your gagging in public, and from the pressure of gagging, you pee your pants - Your entire face and everything surrounding it break out so bad that even your damn earlobes have pimples! And I'm not AT ALL complaining! =) I'm actually THRILLED!
The single biggest reason why folks fail is failure to adhere to the dosing schedule.....wether that be due to sides or memory or whatever. You need to do whatever you can to "stay the course". The WORST thing you can do is to start and quit for no GOOD reason. To do so is to strenghten the Dragon and perhaps lose your only chance of beating this. It is REALLY important to be prepared to do your very best to get through this the FIRST time.
Did I mention CFS patients often comment that alcohol no longer goes well? There are so many of these little things that are hard to remember them all when tryng to describe symptoms of CFS. It's a vasodialator or vasorestrictor, I don't remember which, so it tends to trigger the dysautonomias where the vascular system (vaso) isn't sending the blood around well. It's also why very hot showers aren't recommended. I personally seem to tolerate alcohol just fine.
the trip went fine, although i always HATE having to drop him off for any length of time, at least i will know that he will be home Sunday evening...even though i have to make that whole trip over again...
I get them phantom smells too and it's depressing I just want to be able to enjoy the smell and taste of food again and be able to tell my girlfriend that her new perfume smells really good but I can't and it gets on my nerves you don't realize how much you use your sense of smell until you lose it.
I don't think there's anything that you can do to make the drugs work better. If you ask enough you'll get a long list of vitamins and elixers but I think they're worthless. More riba is absorbed if you have fat in your stomach so that's why they advise taking it with meals. I guess it's soluable in fat. But that doesn't mean that more of either drug is better becuse you worsen the sx without improving efficacy.
If you don't keep at it, it will still be there, even if you did the diet/anti-fungals for a while. You need to make sure you fully got rid of it because it could be the source of the dysbiosis creating this allergic gas. It might also be that since we have candida, there aren't that many good bacteria, and it might be that all we need is good bacteria to combat these gases that are being produced.
and it turns out they were just sugar pills - LOL!) I'm not trying to say that we have something to be ashamed of or that it should be kept hidden...it's just that once the cat is out of the bag you can't put it back in.
It has been a horrible experience! If I ever need to go on anything again it definitely won't be this stuff. I have one more pill of 37.5 mg left and I'm afraid of what life is going to be like when this last one is gone. I have been having tremors, dizziness, confusion, flu like symptoms. Basically everything they say you'll have if you don't taper off. Anyone have any advice as to how long this is going to last?
In addition to B12 and probiotics, I also take: B complex, vit. D, Magnesium, alpha lipoic acid, and vitamin C (I just added this recently because I'm eating less fruit due to stomach issues). I don't take my supplements at the same time as abx, especially the probiotics. I try to space my Rx meds from supplements by at least 2 hours. I recall that "EricaO" had a detailed list of supplements that she takes, you could go to her profile and look through her posts to find the list.
Sheesh Saturday was a decent day, got up and forced myself to the volunteer activity I had promised to do at Botanica gardens, Sunday it was Bootanica and I spent 4 hours putting tattoos on little kids, then walked around the garden until it started raining. Sunday I had been wrangled into holding an open house, two visitors, I forgot my phone and spent my time reading Cosmo, hadn't read that in a while so time passed.
I also wanted to point out that vitamin D deficiency may only be a small part of the puzzle... there could be other deficiency's such as zinc, and as just pointed out by a recent post, magnesium... I read Zinc as well. I've also read that vitamin D deficiency may actually result in poor absorption of zinc! So there are many theories out there... Another one is that vitamin D boosts the immune function in the skin!
So it's a way out of making sure that they are properly refrigerated if you do have to do a lot of traveling. I'd still try to hang onto them to make sure they aren't manhandled but at least you don't have to worry about them freezing in the icebag or getting to warm or whatever........... You're getting the hang of this now and I am sure you are going to do just FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Gretch, There are many possible causes for gas and diarrhea. I'll list SOME of these causes of gas & diarrhea (THERE ARE OTHERS. SEE A GOOD GI/Gastro-intestinal doc TO FIND OUT all YOUR CAUSES!): 1)Indigestion. Take DIGESTIVE ENZYMES. 2)Food sensitivities or intolerances: a)Lactose (milk sugar) intolerance. Avoid milk products, or use Lactase enzyme, like "Lactaid", with a milk product. b)Gluten intolerance (also called CELIAC DISEASE, & SPRUE). Avoid gluten.
The riba was packed with the peg so I assumed it was to be refrigerated also. I was in a hurry to pay my property taxes, go home, and to get back to work. The Pharmacy did give me instructions as did the Nurse specialist...Maybe I wasn't paying attention. I have paperwork I guess I'll read now. =) So far though, the best information I have got came from this list and friends on this list. I think I know somewhat to expect now. I think I'll start everything on Thurs.
I am glad to say that my last blood tests were clear. I have to go back in a couple of days for my one month blood test. I have not worked for nearly a year as I felt so crappy during the tx. But now I am starting to feel better again and the credit crunch is crunching my credit. Any way I have several sealed boxes of interferon pre-filled syringes (180 micrograms) all refrigerated of course. I also have un-opened tubs of Copegus Ribavirine 200mg tabs.
If you are planning on treating with either Incivek or Victrelis there can be drug to drug interactions that can be of serious concern as well. For example: "St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) - Plasma concentrations of telaprevir can be reduced by concomitant use of the herbal preparation St. John’s wort" Also be aware the anything that contain iron or too much vitamin C which increases iron can have a negative effect on the success of treatment.
It is nice to know that there is hope and it doesn't have to be in the form of meds. I know that this is going to take some time and figuring out but I am determined to get better....Anxiety is horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope that anyone that is living with it finds a way to heal.
