My husband and I speak Spanish as a first language and English as a second, I know that I have a long time but the songs that I putting them in my belly will be in Spanish but I'd like a mix of languages

Hey girls well I'm asking this question for mothers with toddlers. Well I have a toddler who's 17months and we are Hispanic so we speak Spanish a lot here in the house. But I recently just started talking to him in English. But he looks confused when I do and seems to not really understand what I'm saying. I wonder if it could be attributed to the learning of a new language. Being enmeshed in a new culture can necessitate the use of a foreign language to communicate. You may just be distracted or overwhelmed with new words or your mind may be looking for the translation?? The stress involved with your change in lifestyle may also be a contributing factor. t the spoken language of your country in your home because once they are out they will learn the other language. For instance when we lived in the states at home was always Spanish and now that living in Mexico city in the home we speak English.

This is plea to those using text message abbreviations in their posts - PLEASE use the english language! I don't mind some abbreviations - for instance, there are a set list of abbreviations that many of the women on the fertility forum use like "O" for ovulation, "TTC" for trying to conceive, "af" for aunt flow (menstruation), etc....

I took two years of deutsch in highschool. I absolutely loved the language. I wish I would have contuinued learning it. :( when did you first start learning english. I have a student. he is 4 years old. since he was born her mother let him watch some cartoons that name words in English or some channels like baby TV ( his1st language is not English, it's farsi). when he started talking he started saying the English words so his parents were so excited and they started talking English with him but unfortunatly their English were not good and they just talked like this:( what's this? this is... . what's that? that's ...).
