Common Questions and Answers about List of carbohydrates not to eat

carbohydrate

Avatar f tn No, you can't determine your carbs by the number of calories. You have to determine how many carbs are in each serving of the individual foods you eat, as listed on the package/container. For instance a serving of bread might have 12 grams of carbs listed on the package. For help with the bar code issue, try asking your question in the Improve MedHelp Suggestions forum. The mods there should be able to help you. You can access that forum via the following link: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn For weight gain you should try taking adequate amounts of calories as suggest for the height, weight and type of physical work with slight increased amount of carbohydrates, adequate amount of protein, slight amount of fat and plenty of fruits and vegetables. If aiming at increasing muscle mass the protein content of the diet should be on the higher side. Eating junk high calorie food can help you gain faster but is not considered a healthy.
Avatar m tn You need to eat more calories than the amount that you burn. Every calorie that you eat above that what you burn will eventually be converted into fat and stored in your body. (regardless if these calories come from protein, fat, carbohydrates or alcohol) 1 kilogram of fat is about 10.000 kCalories so if you daily eat 500kCals more than you burn you will gain a kilo every 3 weeks. remarks: -you will not gain much energy with a few extra kilo's of fat unless you are currently underweight.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the suggestion. We have a food tracker on our list of to-do's and this would include calorie information as well as fat, protein, carbohydrates, etc. We'll let you know when it's available.
Avatar f tn I read that carbohydrates are the main source of energy, so it is important to eat some amount of carbohydrates daily so the body is able to function. There are different types of carbohydrates. For example breads, pasta, potatoes and rice and then there are vegetables and fruits. Can I obtain my carbohydrate intake just by eating (vegetables and fruits), or is it important that I also eat (breads, pasta, potatoes and rice in small quantities)?.
Avatar m tn No one on this forum has said "not take carbohydrates". What has often been said is to cut down or reduce your carbohydrate intake in order to reduce/lower your glucose levels. I have written in your previous postings that you need to use Google or Yahoo to search on complex vs simple carbs. Please include a search on the Glycemic Index reference food groups. Educate yourself about the foods available to you, what you put into your body and how these foods will affect your life.
10221785 tn?1410990458 The Clementine has 16 grams of carbohydrates and my granola bar (2 servings) was a total of 29 carbohydrates. Therefore in order to eat both I could only eat one of the granola bars instead of the serving size of two.
Avatar f tn I looked up food not to eat and the list doesn't seem very long at all. So what are the biggest things to avoid completely?
Avatar n tn The people with the high metabolic rate seem to eat anything and not put on any weight, while people with low metabolic rate tend to put on weight quite easily. Exercising uses up a lot of energy and the energy that are not used are converted to body tissues. Therefore the balance is simple. Taking in more energy then you use will assist in weight gain. Taking in less energy then you use will assist in weight loss.
Avatar f tn Protein also enables you to stay fuller for longer. If you are going to eat carbohydrates, eat them separately as a snack, and avoid having them after 4pm. If you need more help email me, or follow my blog (i've just started writing it): http://nicola-beatingbulimia.blogspot.
776302 tn?1241091853 A food tracker would be a good tool. List the foods we eat and the tracker can list the calories, fat calories, starch content, and protein amount of each food we list. That would be an enormous help to losing weight. Please let me know when it's up and working.

4238266 tn?1351628230 Make sure you have 5-9 servings of fruit and veggies a day. One serving is 1/2 cup. My nutritionist told me this.
256553 tn?1258883918 Thank-you for posting your question as I think many people misunderstand the low carbohydrate dieting. First off, Carbohydrates are our immediate energy and so without it you will probably feel like you are constantly "hitting the wall" and leaving your body in fatigue, dehydration (which gives the illusion of weight loss), energy loss, and excessive protein breakdown with a buildup of ketones in the body. Protein is NOT used for energy it is the building blocks of the body ie.
Avatar f tn There is sugar (lactose) in dairy foods along with protein which our bodies breaks down to glucose to use. I realize it is not the ‘traditional’ food sources of carbohydrates, however, if she is consuming these foods daily, then she is getting carbohydrates. If you are very concerned, suggest increase the intake of the above foods. Try reintroducing slowing in the next few months.

401095 tn?1351391770 Since craving is a normal and natural symptom of addiction that follows the addict into recovery, it is important for addicts to learn how to deal with craving in recovery. This is done by learning and practicing a number of steps. 1. Recognize Craving: Addicts must learn how to recognize a craving while it is happening. Many addicts fail to identify mild cravings as problematic and wait until they are in a full blown, severe craving before taking action. 2.
20620809 tn?1504362969 Thanks for the post! I guess I need to pull a list together of low glycemic foods. How long did the transformation take you? I'm not opposed to fish but lots of food prep is not my style. I wonder if the Mediterranean diet could be followed by a lazy person? What do you think? Did you find exercise needed to be part of this or does that not have any impact on glucose levels?
Avatar f tn You do not have diabetes but if your 109 was a fasting blood sugar then you have an abnormal fasting glucose and should avoid eating too much refined carbohydrates like white bread, white flour, and rice. It is better to eat less carbohydrates and eat complex, high fiber grains like whole wheat, brown rice. Of course, eating lots of vegetables and exercising will also help too.
