250155 tn?1485295939 Are you seeing a psychiatrist or a regular doc? Do you suffer just from anxiety, or is your main problem depression? Have you ever tried therapy? How badly is your problem affecting your life, because if you are doing okay therapy is a better place to start than strong medications. Have you tried other medications, or is this your first try? I'm asking because, first, general docs don't know these meds or these conditions very well.
1722607 tn?1335747858 I wanted to know the names of different medications that might be prescribed during treatment. Names of rescue drugs, anti nausea drugs, or any others that may be given during treatment. I want to look them up thru my insurance to see how much they will cost me if needed. Just trying to budget how much treatment could end up costing.
Avatar f tn Keep track of all the medications that seem to cause the hives, and maybe even experiment with whether different generics of the same medication have the same side effects (for example one generic atarax is green and another white, which might make a difference if you are allergic to that particular coloring agent). You may even have to have an allergist help you figure out what exactly it is that you are allergic to.
2114467 tn?1358210256 I would check with the pharmacist at the pharmacy that is supplying the Hep C medication. They should have a list of all of your meds. Even if they do not have a list, they should be able to tell you if Flonase is okay to use with Hep C meds. I would also check with your doctor. He/she should know about any meds you take. wwwdrugs.

Avatar f tn I have taken her to a pediatrician in Jhb in November last year and they just prescribe medicine, i.e. stilpane, aterax, etc. to get her out of the habit of waking up at night. Medicine with antihistamine (not sure of spelling) just makes her 'hyperactive' and then she sleeps even less. I have tried panado, but it makes her sleep 4 hours at a time and I am not a mother that gives medicine like its sweets. I only give medicine if I feel it is really really necessary.
1322157 tn?1279656681 So, I just poured myself a glass of grapefruit juice and took my medicine - then for some reason I remembered that grapefruit juice interacts with some medications. I just did a quick search online and here is a list (probably not complete) of some medications that interact badly with grapefruit juice. Including some opiates.... Please be careful! a small part of the piece I read: "Amy Karch, R.N., M.S.
Avatar f tn There are many other name brands for that class of medicine. Astepro is a nasal spray antihistamine. It stops the sinus cells from reacting to allergens. There are only two meds in this category. Astepro and Patanase. There is an older version of Astepro called Astelin which may stil be available to you, but the company is working to phase it out. Also a prescription strength antihistamine like Allegra might be a good idea. Feel better and hang in there.

Avatar f tn The side effects of Citalopram, which is in the class of drugs known as "anti-depressants" do not list numbness as a known side effect. Avatar f tn I'm scheduled to have a VNG on Tuesday at 3:15pm. I'm a migraine sufferer and I haven't gotten a clear answer from the audiologist about whether Effexor and Topamax will interfere with the results of the VNG. My neurologist has told me that I'm not allowed to stop those. I also have a question about muscle relaxers like Amrix and Zanaflex. I'm trying to go off of my meclazine and this morning has shown me that the next four days are going to be really rough.

Avatar f tn Is it possible to become addicted to over the counter medications? My 75 year old mother recently moved to my town so that I could help her financially, etc. I have become very concerned about the amount of excederine, prilosec, nasal spray, aleve, and other antacid medicines that she takes. She has a history of bleeding ulcers, she smokes about 2 packs of cigarettes a week, high blood pressure, and other ailments of old age. I didn't realize that she was taking so much of this medicine.

Avatar f tn Hismanal (astemazole) an H1 histamine receptor blocker was taken off the market because of the occurrence of a number of abnormal heart rhythms, some potentially fatal. Sudafed is still available in the U.S. but not OTC. It is extremely unlikely that the double dosed medication you took would have caused any permanent damage to your heart or any other organ. Therefore the murmur is unrelated to Hismanal or Sudafed.
Avatar f tn You can usually take Tylenol based products, but I would definitely check with your doctor first (they usually provide a list of approved medicines). You want to be careful during your first trimester with taking medicines though, so if possible, see if you can do without. If not, have your doctor make a recommendation.
