Avatar n tn s also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
474189 tn?1211184460 There isnt a fast cure for most chronic kidney diseases at the moment, so the treatment is mostly supportive - keep the blood pressure low, protect the remaining kidney function, prevent further damage and delay the renal failure. Lisinopril and Simvastatin is the correct direction. In my opinion, what you need to do is to 1. stick to your medication. 2. Kidney function test every 6 months. 3. Urinalysis and 24 hour urine collection every month. 4. Low salt intake and a nutritious diet.
Avatar m tn A kidney cysts is basically a bag of fluid that is on the surface or interior of a kidney. These occur more frequently as we get older and are rarely of any consequence.. If the cyst meets the specific ultrasound criteria for diagnosing a cyst, then further work-up need not be pursued. These would not be expected to degenerate into cancers nor would they be expected to resolve.
Avatar m tn m 70 and have had declining kidney function (creatinine from 1.0 about 10 years ago to 1.4 average and BUN 25-35 last four or five). The nephrologist I had been seeing for a few years said I didn't have to see him any more unless the blood test levels changed, as they have been stable, as well as no issues in the urine. I've read calcium channel blockers, specifically, are contraindicated for those with chronic kidney disease. I am currently on that per another physician.
Avatar n tn Last week, I went to my OBGYN for a PAP and the extreme pain during the exam makes my dr. believe I have a kidney stone problem. (Test results were normal) My blood pressure in the office was 207/130. I have never had BP problems in the past. I am 61, female and about 25 lbs overweight... (I am working on the weight issue.) Shocked at this BP level, Dr. immediately prescribed triamterene and lisinopril and told me to contact an internist..
Avatar f tn Recent head injury, hyperthyroidism, renal artery stenosis (by dopplar studies or MRI), abnormal kidney function (by kidney function tests), hyper function of adrenals, Cushing’s syndrome, abnormal liver function etc would have been ruled out. You should consult a cardiologist for high BP. To diagnose the cause tests like kidney function, liver function, lipid profile, thyroid, adrenal gland function, EKG, ECHO, tread mill etc are done.
Avatar f tn Hi, as such there is no direct co relation of kidney pain with lovastatin which is mainly metabolized through liver. What are the other drugs you are on? Main side effects of lovastatin are myopathy and liver disorder. For more information visit http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/lovastat_ad.htm Wait for blood reports, need to assess kidney function. Also get ultrasound done to rule out any pathology of urinary tract.
Avatar m tn After questioning why I had high blood pressure and not getting any answers I asked to see another doc and he added Lisinopril 10mg and said come back in 6 months. Since then BP has been steady at 130's/40's. After bugging the doc enough about why at 32 i have to take 3 meds to keep BP under control he has finally set me up to see a kidney specialist.
Avatar m tn when you set up this medhelp user name you choose your sex and age. and you selected 20 years old and male and that doesnt match up with how you describe yourself. your profile also says your a student while you also say your a doctor. your a "doctor" you should know. your not going to get help here.
Avatar f tn I take 40 mg. of Lisinopril twice per day; Diovan 320mg - twice per day and Clonidine HCL 0.2 mg at bedtime. My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher.
Avatar f tn But, if the GFR has significantly declined from a previous test result, this can be an early indicator of kidney disease requiring medical intervention. The sooner kidney dysfunction is diagnosed and treated, the greater odds of preserving remaining nephrons, and preventing the need for dialysis.
Avatar m tn I just got off of Lisinopril after taking it off and on for four years (it was causing my resting heart rate to be around 100 until recently it was 130) and ever since then my bp has been fine during the day 120-140 70-85 and my pulse is around 80. But late at night when I got to bed and lay down my bp is low 100-110 60-70 and pulse is around 58. I am scheduled to have an echo Monday. I am a 24 year old male 5"5' 200 pounds and my cholesterol is slightly elevated.
Avatar f tn I was put on a low salt diet, and a daily baby aspirin regimen plus 25mg Spirinolactone, 10 mg Lisinopril once a day, and 6.25 mg Carvedilol twice a day. Echocardiogram in April showed a slight improvement of EF from less than 20% in December, to 25-30%. I was advised to get a bi-v icd, which was done May 15. The device has been checked twice since release from hospital, everything is working extremely well, no complications.
Avatar m tn So, been having this not very severe, but certainly noticeable and annoying sticking pain in what feels like my left testical since yesterday morning. I ejaculated approximately an hour prior to the onset, so am wondering if that had anything to do with it. I think I've had similar pain before, but it's always gone away within an hour or less. This has now been going on for over 36 hours.
415098 tn?1214856836 Hi, puffiness could be either due to kidney disorder or heart malfunctioning. Please get blood urea, creatinine levels along with ECG and ECHO to rule out cardiac cause. Other possibility is hypothyroidism which again can be diagnosed with blood tests. Also keep regular monitoring of blood pressure and don’t skip the medications.
Avatar m tn but he also brought up the (remote possibility) of kidney cancer, due to the presence of hematuria and my right-side flank pain. He referred me to a urologist and I will likely see him next week. So, of course, with all this time to poke around the internet, I've convinced myself that the latter is the more likely diagnosis. I keep waiting for the intense pain and other symptoms of a passing kidney stone..
Avatar f tn I have been having chest pains over the past couple of hours. It has been a steady pain....(7-7.5 on a scale of 1-10)... I've had a little bit of pain in my shoulder as well...What could be causing this? I am 5'8" and I weigh 260. I do have high blood pressure and asthma, (i take Lisinopril and Albuterol for those). My BP has still been running high, although I was just switched to Lisinopril from Propranolol 4 days ago. Should I go to the ER?
Avatar m tn An elevated BUN in the setting of a relatively normal creatinine (as in your case) may reflect a physiological response to a relative decrease of blood flow to the kidney without indicating any true injury to the kidney. Also, an isolated elevation of BUN may also reflect excessive formation of urea without any compromise to the kidneys. Discuss this with your doctor and to diagnose kidney problems, additional tests may be done as well as a repeat BUN test would be conclusive.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
Avatar m tn when he got to ga he started having kidney problems. so gp sent him to kidney dr. wow they are awesome, they dont play with it , his blood pressure is now 120/70 go see a kidney dr they can take it down. frist time in 50 years that my dad does not have high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Two dates missing on a current Electronic Health Record (EHR) had led me to dig up an old one. The dates are in the allergy section and they occured three weeks apart. The source was Lisinopril and then all ACE-Inhibitors, and the reactions were 'Renal Artery Stenosis' and 'INCR CREA due to R.A.S.', respectfully. I've been told this could be the source of my kidney atrophy and the reasion I have ESRD.
