Avatar f tn At the end of the week it happened again and would not stop so i went to the hospital they admitted me and ran all kinds of tests EKG, Blood, ECCHO, and even a catheterization. The good news is they found nothing but thought the Lisinopril was to strong and changed the dose to 2.5 MG. I was home for one evening and felt good no palpitations. I took the pill in the morning and after a couple hours the heart palpitations started again and have been present for 24 hrs.
Avatar n tn You are taking very doses, but they certainly can be the cause of a lot of side effects. The good news is your body generally can adapt, and the drugs can remodel the heart... at least they did for me. I eventually was taking 10mg of lisinopril and 50 mg of Coreg. Headaches are definitely associated with drugs like Isosorbide (Imdur), angina meds like Ranexa and of course Nitro pills, especially if combined with alcohol. I agree that you should report the problem to your doctor.
Avatar m tn t have to see him any more unless the blood test levels changed, as they have been stable, as well as no issues in the urine. I've read calcium channel blockers, specifically, are contraindicated for those with chronic kidney disease. I am currently on that per another physician. I am also on an angiotensen II drug, which I've been told is good for kidneys.
Avatar m tn No worries here. Still clean. Just a warning to fellow fresh-fish newly clean addicts concerning ancillary meds such as blood pressure, depressions meds & anything else one can be prescribed for their ailments within days/weeks of quitting........................ A bit back, after 2 tough weeks clean from oxys, I decided a complete physical exam and extensive blood work was in order. Hippety-hop down the bunny trail I went skipping to the doc's office.
Avatar n tn 37PVC's/day. I had a stroke in Jan. The Docs seem to think that the stroke and the reduced EF are due to the long term effects of high blood pressure and arterial disease from diabetes. I am also taking lisinopril. Definitely noticed the symptoms that I mentioned before after I started on the Coreg.
Avatar m tn There's no magic bullet.. I take magnesium, flaxseed oil, omega 3, hibiscus tea, grape seed extract and beet root powder. Walk 2-5 miles per day and take 5mg of Lisinopril to stay around 125/130 over 80/85 most of the time at the age of 56. I'd have to stop everything to gauge the real effectiveness but I'm guessing I'd be at 10 or 20 mg of Lisinopril. Hard to get around genetics sometimes..
Avatar f tn s to take after bypass surgery for they not only help keep your BP down but they help to repair your heart, I hope if you do try these that you are helped my them, I am in the middle of changing Doctors to see if I can try some other meds.
Avatar f tn A family member has just started taking Lisinopril for high blood pressure, and has had trouble sleeping. Should the medication be taken in the morning instead of evening? Or does it vary, depending on the person.
Avatar m tn In September, I underwent umbilical hernia repair surgery. In the recovery room, during extubation, my airway collapsed and I spent 24 hours in ICU. Approximately three months later, my left hand and arm swelled enormously. A trip to the ER and IV steriods, antibiotics and Zantac started bringing the swelling down (hand and arm returned to normal after a day or so). Two weeks later, I was taken to ER (by ambulance) when my airway swelled shut.
Avatar m tn Are you sure its the lisinopril causing the cough & runny nose? Have you ruled out allergy? I have taken Lisinopril for years and never had that particular side effect.
Avatar f tn If this is a new finding (the EF of 20-25%), I would probably recheck this in 3 months on the combination of Lisinopril and Coreg to see if it is better (there are definitely cases where it gets better). The heart function should not get any worse but your a.fib needs to be controlled because if it is always between 118-130 then this could be contributing to your low EF. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
535822 tn?1443976780 The New York Post today has said that there is a push for the 9/11 Trial to go to Govenor's Island , A lower Manhatton Community board called on fed officails yesterday to move the trail of the terrorists to Govenor's Island and passed a resolution demanding the shift, in a hearing with Downtown Residents who loathe the idea of the threats that would ensue and the lockdown it would involve, this makes sense to me , what say you ....
Avatar m tn I was on coreg for 2 months and then my Cardiologist took me off it. He tried Lisinopril while I was in the hospital however the combo of HCTZ and Coreg and the Ace inhib was causing me to feel dizzy and ill. Now it has been 8 months after my hospitalization and they are trying Lisinopril again. I am up to 5mg and my BP is 90/60 , I feel a little off balance. They want me on at least 10mg, 20 is better but with a PB of 80/60 I doubt I will be able to handle the low BP .
1243333 tn?1296446902 Thanks, they have tried Hydrochloride, Toprol-XL ,aliskiren Oral Tablet ,Clonidine pill, HCTZ Lisinopril, Avapro, Avalide, & Bystolic I had allergic reactions to the lisinopril and one of the others and not sure why they switched me from a couple of the others, Thanks so much, Babs
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar n tn I have since undergone the echocardiogram procedures from the hospital check in and another in the cardiologists office; and the cardiocatheterizatoin procedure whereby dye is injected into my arteries and the surgeon has a look see at my arteries. On the first diagnosis at the hospital I was told my heart was functioning at 20% capacity. On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar n tn I was curious if anybody has read or experienced where Lisinopril can cause PVC'S. I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
Avatar n tn I am a US citizen in India on business. In the States I had a prescription for Lisinopril 20mg. Unfortunately, my stay got extended, and I am about to run out of that medication. Since I can't reach people or the doctor back home, could you advice which of the three I found online - Nivant 20mg, Zestril 20mg, or Lisoril 20mg, I should take. The rest don't seem to have the 20mg dose, although I could also double up on the 10mg dosage.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril can cause birth defects in the baby if you take the medication during pregnancy.
225237 tn?1333138999 ) Depending on your body position, the contractions may be felt different places in your chest, and you also have lots of arteries in the chest which may temporarily push towards other tissue, also depending on body position. Palpitations may also make this effect stronger. Keep up the good work with weight loss and keep your blood pressure under control. Maybe that would prevent you from getting diabetes too. If you get other symptoms, see your doctor, of course.
Avatar m tn 5 of coreg i started the meds in janaury of 2010 and was just retested with an echo the results stayed the same 30/35 at rest thx
Avatar m tn Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday. I am a 24 overweight male 5'4" 190 and I am out of shape.
