Avatar f tn I have had stent implants too and was taking a bunch of meds but I was only on lisinopril for short time. It was the lisinopril that gave me those symptoms plus a bad tickle in the back of my throat that caused me to cough a lot! I finally got off the lisinopril and I felt Waaaayyy better! Good luck!
630309 tn?1222446259 My physician started me on Lisinopril 20mg every day to help lower my blood pressure on 9/23. I had a follow up appointment today and he increased it to 30mg every day. Is this normal? It seems a little to soon to be increasing a medication after only taking it for 3 days.
Avatar m tn I'm a 63 yr old male, and started hypertension about a decade ago. Took Lisinopril, which knocked my systolic down from the 160s to the 140s for awhile. Recently, even with Lisinopril, was spiking close to 200. New Dr. added HCTZ (diuretic) which got it back under 150, but the 2 together make me ongoingly fatigued, and dizzy upon standing up. The new doc, nor anyone else, knows why I have such high BP.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
Avatar m tn s due to having too much beta blocker in your system. I take a different beta blocker, a much stronger one. I started on 5mg and felt aweful. I knew it was this medication and insisted my cardiologist approached it in a different way. He reduced me to 1.25mg and my angina and fatigue disappeared so we kept it at this level. Now at 7 years later I take 2.5mg. It keeps angina away but still no fatigue. We increased the dosage only because 1.25mg was no longer keeping away the chest discomfort.
Avatar m tn but dont ignore your high B/P get on a different med there are litterly hundreds out there you will find one that agrees with your system hang in there you will feel better soon good luck and God bless.....
Avatar m tn I was on coreg for 2 months and then my Cardiologist took me off it. He tried Lisinopril while I was in the hospital however the combo of HCTZ and Coreg and the Ace inhib was causing me to feel dizzy and ill. Now it has been 8 months after my hospitalization and they are trying Lisinopril again. I am up to 5mg and my BP is 90/60 , I feel a little off balance. They want me on at least 10mg, 20 is better but with a PB of 80/60 I doubt I will be able to handle the low BP .
Avatar f tn In general, lisinopril should not be taken with potassium supplements or diuretics that conserve potassium [for example, hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene (Dyazide)], since blood potassium levels may rise to dangerous levels. PREGNANCY: Lisinopril should not be taken during pregnancy because fetuses and neonates have died when lisinopril was administered during pregnancy. NURSING MOTHERS: It is not known whether lisinopril is excreted in breast milk.
Avatar m tn In February of 2014 I was on Lisinopril for high blood pressure, but after two weeks I had sudden heart attack like symptoms that landed me in the ER. I had several tests done including chest x-ray, chest CAT scan, blood work, EKG, Ultra sound of my heart before and after a stress test. All the tests concluded my heart was fine so they don't know what caused it. However my primary doctor took me off Lisinopril because she believed it was an allergic reaction.
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar n tn On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it. I asked him why, he answered that he wanted me to start on the 40mg in the first place. I don't get it. According to what I can find out, the lisinopril slows down my heart.
Avatar f tn What questions should I ask re what type of blood pressure medication I should be on? I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.

Avatar n tn I was curious if anybody has read or experienced where Lisinopril can cause PVC'S. I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
Avatar n tn I am a US citizen in India on business. In the States I had a prescription for Lisinopril 20mg. Unfortunately, my stay got extended, and I am about to run out of that medication. Since I can't reach people or the doctor back home, could you advice which of the three I found online - Nivant 20mg, Zestril 20mg, or Lisoril 20mg, I should take. The rest don't seem to have the 20mg dose, although I could also double up on the 10mg dosage.
Avatar f tn Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
824295 tn?1241652549 Monitor your BP so you know if you are on the right dose. Also Lisinopril can cause hyperkalemia if you have too much potassium in ur system, maybe salt sub. with potassium (if ur worried about your salt intake?), or foods with lots of potassium etc. Hyperkalemia (too much potassium) might cause fatigue, muscle weakness and tingling, nausea. Just a thought since u brought up side effects of meds. Tell ur md.
Avatar m tn Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday. I am a 24 overweight male 5'4" 190 and I am out of shape.
Avatar n tn I CANNOT wait for this drug to be out of my system. i will be starting lisinopril for my blood pressure, hopefully with better results. This discussion is related to Toprol Side effects after one year.
Avatar m tn Hi, carvedilol is a beta blocker and is indicated for the treatment of mild-to-severe chronic heart failure. Lisinopril is angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used to treat hypertension and heart failure, So, check with your doctor why the medications have been prescribed, it may not be for hypertension alone.
Avatar m tn 220lbs with borderline HTN which my PCP said to be a combination of being overweight and anxiety, I was placed on lisinopril 5mg 1x daily and xanax 0.25mg 3x daily, until I lose 20lbs. the 5mg of lisinopril helped with the BP, but 3 days into taking the Medication I started getting muscle aches. I went to my PCP and he said it was not likely lisinopril so he gave me flexeril for the muscle aches.
Avatar n tn started 10mg lisinopril last month and have noticed a change in vision. In the past I have only required drug store reading glasses for close vision, but now I need them for reading things that are 3 - 5' away. Do your eyes adjust to this med with time, is it just something you should live with or is a change in medication required ?
Avatar m tn Total Chol about 120 or lower Triglycerides about 115 or lower HDL fairly steady at about 35. has always been low. Last monday TG rose to 204 and HDL dropped to 29. Total Chol was 115 and LDL direct was 55. My change was dropping lisinopril due to a couch and increasing Coreg from 3.125 mg 2x/d to 6.25 mg 2x/d this has shifted my cardiac disease risk in the wrong direction. Does it make sense that the lipid change is due to coreg dose this small?
474189 tn?1211184460 They have put me on Lisinopril and Simvastatin (despite blood pressure or cholesterol never being high ??) they say it is to try to lessen any further damage but that's as much as they tell me at the moment.
Avatar f tn For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg. For each change in your lisinopril dosage, it may take several weeks to see the full effects on blood pressure. Hope this helps and your blood pressure is properly controlled without side effects. Thanks for the question.
