Avatar f tn I just returned from my first appt w/ my new Dr. She says that I should be on lisinopril "to protect my kidneys". I have had diabetes for 35 years and never had a test come back indicating that I am "spilling protiens". My BP is 104/70 A1c is about 7.3.Very good health, no heart problems etc. Is this just a standard/ routine prescription for diabetics now...like aspirin?
Avatar m tn Hi, carvedilol is a beta blocker and is indicated for the treatment of mild-to-severe chronic heart failure. Lisinopril is angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used to treat hypertension and heart failure, So, check with your doctor why the medications have been prescribed, it may not be for hypertension alone.
Avatar f tn Try posting on the "Ask a Doctor Forums" - Diabetes - Adult Type II . You seem to have many choices but first ask Dr Ramsetty for her opinion.
Avatar n tn I pretty much have the same thing. Do you have diabetes or high blood pressure? I was on Lisinopril and i ended up in the ER for the blood pressure medicine. It's called Paresthesia. They put me on something new. I feel a lot better but now I wonder if it's something else. It keeps me from sleeping and it wakes me up. Before when I was on Lisinopril sometimes it would fire in the same spot multiple times and i had problems walking. It has not been that bad since.
Avatar n tn I have pain in the very upper back of my legs and the inside of my legs where the thigh meets the body. It began a few weeks ago. I am 64 and have been a type 2 diabetic for 5 years. I also have been treated for hypertension and high cholesterol levels since the age of 50. I take daily Glucophage 500 x 2, Januvia 100, Actos 30 (newly prescribed), Lisinopril 40, Amlodopine 10 (newly prescribed), and HCTZ 25. What do you think is the cause of my pain? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Yes. ACE inhibitors like Lisinopril, reduce microalbuminuria (albumin in the urine), preserve kidney function and slow the progression of kidney disease caused by Type II diabetes. http://www.annals.
Avatar m tn They took me off Lisinopril I had it real bad at the time then. I would get it all over my body. Sometimes it would fire like two or three times in the same spot. Like I said I get it all over my body. Legs, back, arms, shoulders, neck, butt. It would be fine then at once it will hit then like maybe 60 minutes to a day later it will just all of a sudden clear up as fast as it came until next time. It has been a lot better since I have been off the Lisinopril.
Avatar m tn I've been taking lisinopril since my diagnosis in 2012. The last time I had any tests done was back in 2012 and everything came back normal. No high cholesterol or anything of the sort. Now the lisinopril didn't help lower my blood pressure, but it has seemed to keep it from going higher.
Avatar n tn ve had more years out of control than in control. Today my lab results showed protien in my urine. I am not taking this well, even though I knew it was inevitible because of my history. My Doctor has perscribed Lisinopril after I have my third child. My questions are: Are there many type 1 who have to be on this type of pill for life? Is there a way to stop the protien from spilling over even with good A1C? I feel like this is the beginning of a long road of battles.
225237 tn?1333138999 Just looking for some advice. I was sitting watching tv an I had moment where I could feel my heart beat in my right chest area, is this normal??!! It didn't last very long. I'm a 32 year old female I do have high blood pressure that is controlled with Lisinopril an pre-diabetic which I just started Metformin ER a week ago. I also suffer from spells of anxiety but try to deal without taking medication for it.
Avatar f tn I'm 76 years old was diagnosed with CHF in February of 2009. I am being treated by a good cardiologist. My ejection rate is 34% and I hope increasing all the time. It was 20% in February at my initial diagnosis. I'm taking carvedilol, lisinopril, digoxin, medication for my cholesterol and diabetes 2 and also aspirin and cod liver oil . I would like to continue with my exercise program and don't know if it's allowed. It's not hard, just walking.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
193953 tn?1272075026 t been to the doctor in a while. I was laid off of my job in March, therefore, I lost all benefits. I have no insurance. I take Adderall, Lisinopril and birth control. I have stopped Hydrocodone and Xanax due to the inability to afford. The others are pretty much a need.
Avatar m tn Also all the veins in my arms and legs are visible since Ive been off the lisinopril. Is it because Ive been drinking alot of water and exercising now since I am off it. MY heart muscle was strong according to the Echo. What could be causing the visible veins? No enlarged heart too.
Avatar m tn I have since become very wary of any med ending in -lol. I highly recommend that you get tested for diabetes. Your craving for sugar is one signal; eating a large meal followed by dizziness is another. In my research to learn more about diabetes, the one thing I have learned is that symptoms vary so widely as to be impossible to form an exact profile of a typical diabetic. I'm not familiar with the initials you use: HR.
5893179 tn?1400521283 Heart attacks and heart problems run in my family. I am morbidly obese and I don't want any of the happening to me. My mother died at 34yo of a heart attack. I see good news about Krill oil all the time. SO my question is, is it safe for people with already poor health?
Avatar f tn My left leg has always had pain since, so I decided to go see a Chiropractor to see if he or she could alleviate it. After my 5th session I noticed a tingling sensation in my penis and a pulling/retraction pain. I awoke the next morning with a painful erection and ever since it has been painful. Also when I stand or stretch my penis retracts into my body and when I lie down it relaxes. I had an MRI of my back and they said they found nothing remarkable.
Avatar m tn I was on coreg for 2 months and then my Cardiologist took me off it. He tried Lisinopril while I was in the hospital however the combo of HCTZ and Coreg and the Ace inhib was causing me to feel dizzy and ill. Now it has been 8 months after my hospitalization and they are trying Lisinopril again. I am up to 5mg and my BP is 90/60 , I feel a little off balance. They want me on at least 10mg, 20 is better but with a PB of 80/60 I doubt I will be able to handle the low BP .
Avatar f tn In general, lisinopril should not be taken with potassium supplements or diuretics that conserve potassium [for example, hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene (Dyazide)], since blood potassium levels may rise to dangerous levels. PREGNANCY: Lisinopril should not be taken during pregnancy because fetuses and neonates have died when lisinopril was administered during pregnancy. NURSING MOTHERS: It is not known whether lisinopril is excreted in breast milk.
225237 tn?1333138999 I try to deal with it by going to counciling, I am not taking any anxity meds at this time! However, I do take Lisinopril (bp) and Metformin ER (pre-diabetes). Avatar n tn What is your age? Are you taking any meds? Any major health issues? Did you take enhancement pills?
Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar f tn In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions? The pain meds are for arthritic hip and knee and rotator cuff surgery.
Avatar n tn On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it. I asked him why, he answered that he wanted me to start on the 40mg in the first place. I don't get it. According to what I can find out, the lisinopril slows down my heart.
