Avatar n tn 20 mg in 7 am , and 20 mg Lisinopril in 7 pm (so total = 40 mg Lisinopril per day). During the day (systolic) hypertension goes 150-160 mmHg and only in 2-4pm it is 130 mmHg (and at 10-12 pm). What should be done for this patient. Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S.
Avatar m tn I am a professional violinist and recently developed an essential tremor in my bow arm which interferes greatly with my playing. My neurologist tried primidone but it has helped only a little. I asked if he could put me on Inderal which I understand can help with essential tremor. However -- the doctor pointed out that I am already on lisinopril (for hypertension) which, he claimed, ALSO is effective in treating essential tremor.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
Avatar n tn My husband sweats a lot when exercising and playing golf. He takes Lisinopril and he has had several episodes of lightheadedness, nausea and vomiting, and low BP while playing golf. Are there other classes of anti-hypertensives that don't result in hypotension DT excessive sweating? He's also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
Avatar f tn Looking for good new...found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar f tn Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and the mechanism of the agent is to dilate vessels to reduce hypertension. Metoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Metoprolol is used to treat angina and hypertension for high blood pressure. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack. My regimen is Lisinopril and coreg (beta blocker).
Avatar n tn I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
Avatar n tn I recently was diagnosed with the above along with arryhmia and aortic and mitral valve insufficienc. I have low pressure normally so my doctor prescribed 2.5mg of lisinopril. After taking it for 5 nights I've started to experience dizziness when I get up during the night. I also wake up with a dry cough. Tuesday my blood pressure was 86/53. Is there any other treatment for this "mild" case of cardiomyopthy other than blood pressure lowering medicine?
Avatar n tn 20%) had 12% lower risk of death or hospitalization for any reason, if placed on a high dose of ACE inhibitor like Lisinopril compared to a low dose. I would suggest that you comply with your doctor’s prescription as high doses of lisinopril significantly reduces mortality in CHF patients. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
Avatar m tn MY bp off the Lisinopril is 145/85 and I see a cardiologist for the first time on Wednesday is it safe for me not to take the Lisinopril till then? MY kidneys are also fine and my Liver. Why would Lisinopril cause the Tach and then sudden increase. Asked a Pharmacist and he said that it is a downplayed side effect of Ace Inhibitors that it does happen. My Blood Pressure has been around normal all day the highest is 135/80 when I eat and my pulse is around 90-100 now 3rd day off of Lisinopril.
Avatar m tn I went to my PCP and he said it was not likely lisinopril so he gave me flexeril for the muscle aches. He also raised my lisinopril to 10mg even though the 5mg had been doing the job as my BP had gone down from 139/89~ to 131/84. Now that I am taking 10mg lisinopril It feels like I have the Flu (aches, pains, chills) ,and my throat gets really sore.
Avatar f tn Would anyone here know, how long it would take lisinopril, a BP medication to remylinate the brain? I am referring to the study. Done at Stanford, where the rats with MS were given Lisinopril.
474189 tn?1211184460 Kidney diseases can be secretly developping unnoticed for many years. At least you should be happy for the fact that at least you have caught the problem before it's too late. There isnt a fast cure for most chronic kidney diseases at the moment, so the treatment is mostly supportive - keep the blood pressure low, protect the remaining kidney function, prevent further damage and delay the renal failure. Lisinopril and Simvastatin is the correct direction.
Avatar f tn I have been taking lisinonpril 20 mg for blood pressure going about 7 years. The recommended starting dosage of lisinopril for people with high blood pressure is 10 mg, taken once daily. Your doctor may be increasing based on the blood pressure response and consideration to side effects of lisinopril, the dosage may be increased or decreased. For most people, the normal daily dose is 20 mg to 40 mg.
Avatar f tn I take Coreg(Carvedilol) and Lisinopril. I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
Avatar m tn so ive had thoracic rib and spine issues for 8 years now. i had the swine flu last october, pancreatitis last november, a work fall that caused a fracture on a bone in my spine, the death of my nephew a few months ago, and just had my appendix out 3 weeks ago. i have major depressive disorder, dysthimic disorder, and panic disorder. i am on 10 mg lisinopril daily (blood pressure), klonopin 1 mg 3 x daily, pristiq 50 mg daily, lyrica 200 mg daily, protonix 40 mg daily, and 7.
Avatar n tn 20mg once a day initially for roughly 6 months, now 10mg lisinopril and 12.5 mg hctz. I have had proggresive.extreme.fatigue, headache, blurred vision, palpitations, amxiety and now digestion problems. I have explained these issues to the doc but as you can see he just adjusted my dosage and tells me I'm absolutely healthy. I had none of these issues before I started prescription therapies. However to answer the question. I don't think there is a "break in" period for some.
Avatar n tn My ef at that time was 15%. I also had significant mitral valve regurgitation. I was prescribed Coreg and lisinopril. My most recent echo (May, 2010) shows ef of 20%. MVR was mild to moderate at that time. My question....when is mitral valve repair/replacement considered to improve heart function?
Avatar f tn I have been taking lisinopril for about 7 years without any notable side effects. There are different mechanism that can reduce high blood pressure. Lisinopril blocks angiotensin and angiotensin constricts vessels and when angiotensin is controlled blood vessels relax and as a result better blood flow. However, scientists also believe that the angiotensin-converting enzyme is responsible for the breakdown of other substances in the lungs.
Avatar m tn I took Lisinopril for awhile and it had no effect on my lipids. I also started on a plant based diet and was able to discontinue the Lisinopril as BP normalized due to the diet.
Avatar f tn I was offered Lisinopril, I thought it was for high blood pressure, while I was hospitalized for a-fib last fall. I was already on an anti-arrythmic and a beta blocker and a couple of other unrelated drugs. Anyway they offered me Liprinosil and I declined to add yet another drug. My cholestersol is about the same as yours and I'm on crestor for that. Haven't had blood tests yet to confirm that it has lowered it. Do you take any thyroid meds or hormone med.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed in a ER with CHF a couple of weeks ago and the cardiologist I am to see is on vacation. I was placed on lisinopril, lasix, and propanolol as a preventive by my PCP while waiting. I have been coughing lately and I saw somewheres that coughing may be a lisinopril warning sign. Is this correct. I do not see the heart doctor until next friday for final diagnosis and future planning. Thank you in advance.
