Avatar f tn Also, after the 2nd surgery I have noticed a lot of hair loss. Handfuls of hair everytime I brush my hair. I have very long hair and would hate to loose it. Not only do I have hair loss, my hair (not surprisingly) is thining out. Could this be from my 2 surgeries so close together? Or, something else? Do I need to go to my Doctor's for testing? Thank You for you time.

Avatar f tn Hey ladies just a small question! So the prenatal vitamins I am currently taken prescribed by my doctor are absolutely awful! I cannot take them without gaging and throwing up. I feel sick about an hour later and it lasts throughout the whole day. I've been doing research about different vitamins I could take and I found the most best one seems to be belly bar which is a chewable prenatal vitamin. But I was wondering if anyone takes other vitamins that isn't a huge horse pill?
Avatar f tn Or try nature made liquid gels they are great I love them. I a day no chewing they are liquid gels so much easier on tummy and easier to digest.
Avatar n tn I was taking biotin for my hair but I was curious if I should still take it after finding out that I am pregnant. I know it is a vitamin but it is 5000 Mcg. Is that okay for the baby?

455110 tn?1205964069 s all antectodal, and yes, some (not all) pregnant women seem to get a lusterous head of hair more likely due to the pregnancy hormones than prenatal vitamins. I never got any thicker, shinier hair when I was pregnant. Then again, I never got big boobs either. :( That being said, many non-pregnant people swear the prenatals do help, and theoretically, it SHOULD assist in new cell growth turnover and hence, thicker hair.

Avatar f tn You can get some excellent liquid vitamins at the health food store.
Avatar f tn I quit all of my liquid pills because they have soy. I went to a vitamin store and they have soy free. Also, don't take vitamins within four hours of thyroid meds. I read that too many vitamins for hypos who haven't achieved higher-end frees can result in a buildup of vitamins in the body. Until I get my frees to optimum level, I am sticking to the basics: Magnesium, D, B12, and Selenium.
Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago I went to the doctor complaining of hair loss and tingling in my hands and feet. The doctor ordered blood tests and confirmed that I have a vitamin B deficiency. My ANA also came back positive. I was told to take a complex B vitamin and also go see a rheumatologist. Since taking the vitamins I am still having all of these symptoms and am now worried that the doctor might be right about thinking I have lupus.
