Common Questions and Answers about Lipitor urine odor

Avatar n tn I have a sulfur odor emitting from my pores which (naturally) is considerably worse when I sweat, but my urine doesn't have any noticeably unusual odor. This odor is so strong that I am barely able to get it out of my sheets! I have also developed nerve tremors which feel as though my entire body has been plugged into a low voltage electrical socket. Does any one know a cause for either of these problems and/or if they could be related? I am also perimenopausal. Could that play a roll here?
Avatar n tn This can be diagnosed by urine culture. Strong fruity odor is due to uncontrolled diabetes. Interestingly urine odor changes in menopause too. Urinary bladder infection and kidney infections do produce strong smelling urine. Another reason is dehydration. Strong ammonia smell is due to protein breakdown. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar n tn I have the same problem but from what I have read most doctors say that Lipitor doesn't cause hematuria (blood in urine). But some credible webpages say it could cause "dark-colored urine" (which in my mind could be "blood in urine"!) It's almost as if nobody in the medical community is on the same page. It's very confusing but I have posted a website that may help you out.: https://rxight.com/side-effects/drug/lipitor/ Anyway, good luck!
Avatar m tn At about 4 months after surgery, I changed statin and antacid medicines to Lipitor (80) and Nexium. Two weeks later, I started experiencing mild aching in the upper chest/esophogus area--a mild form of my heart attack/angina symptoms. I switched back to Aciphex at that time, but remained on Lipitor. At the six month after surgery point, I underwent a stress radionuclide test and another heart catheterization (required by my job). Both tests showed no problems.

10996785 tn?1432812977 The doctor then asked about my lipitor. She told me that lipitor has a bad side effect that can permanently damage muscles in your body, that can lead to kidney failure. I'm not saying Lipitor is bad. It does have this side effect that can effect a small amount of people. However, I without a doubt, feel as if this is my problem. Lipitor and Trazodone have combined to almost stop me in my tracks. I realize that some people may not like the talking about lipitor in this way.

Avatar f tn Sometimes Being dehydrated can cause your urine to take on a strong odor, even skunk like. So make sure that you are drinking enough fluids. That being said, as a nurse, I'd always recommend getting any kind of foul odor checked out. It could be an infection, and there's no way to know unless you get your urine evaluated. Sometimes you'll have other symptoms, such as frequency (hard to tell when you're preggo, lol) and or burning. Other times just odor.
