Of course you always hear that a little alcohol is good for heart patients. I was still in a lot of denial about the TIA until the hospital called last Friday to see how I was after my stroke. Holy COW!!

I drink socially and take liptor and was wondering in that I only drink in the evenings if it's better to take the lipitor in the morning in order for the liver to metabolize the alcohol at night. Or is the liver simply distributed evenly over a 24 hour period making the time you take it with alcohol irrelevant. Does drinking 1.5 - 2.0 oz of scotch or bourbon within an hour or two of taking 20 mg of Lipitor create an elevated risk of Liver or Kidney dysfunction?
I believe for me it was pinched nerves in the neck/shoulder area.. I would wake up at night and would take 20 mins for my arms to come back to life.. Hope you feel better!

I was diagnosed with complicated migraine at the Cleveland Clinic at age 34. My best friend also has the condition, diagnosed in her 30s. I am now age 53 and have been on a variety of medications over the years. It is a very REAL condition which does cause TIA and stroke. Australia has studied it more than US doctors. I also have vasospasm disease which causes angina (since my 40s) which Dr. Eric Topel Cleveland Clinic believes is related to the migraines.
I do take them, at night, so if I can get to sleep it isn't that bad, at least for that night, the next day, I still don't feel well. I, too, was told it will diminish over time, and I'm still waiting for that "time". Also, I know for me, that I feel sensitive or tender, in the areas of my shots.
