Avatar n tn first time lower left, 2nd time, entire upper, 3rd time lower right, 4th time, entire right side of my face and finally, yesterday, entire left side of my face from upper lip to just below the eye. 10996785 tn?1432812977 No one told me about lipitor side effects. I literally felt like my body was freezing up. When I Googled it, they referenced ALS like symptoms. This really blew my mind. (spill the wine). They say it may take a month or longer to feel a little bit better. The blood work being ok is a big thing all of a sudden. I have a low grade side effect. I'm weaning off trazodone now, next neurontin, then nortripyline. Maybe. Better days ahead. Maybe...
1583640 tn?1296674030 m saying that in the case of statins, the effects have been proven to NOT be accumulative. Side effects almost always present in the first 90 days. I'm sure there are some situations where that is not the case.
Avatar n tn Never take Synthroid at the same time as other meds or you will get some side effects as it really is supposed to be given an hour before food, other meds etc and up to 4 hours before any vitamins. It sounds like you need your Synthroid meds adjusted which means it is wise to get a thyroid function test again. And also Athenol should be stopping the blood pressure to raise so ask your Doc about that too. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn He insisted that I had arthritis Finally a friend suggested that I look up the side effects of lipitor on the net. It was all there and I had more than half of the symptoms on the list, severly. I have since taken my self off lipitor and have been off it now for ten weeks. I am much better but still not totally back to normal. This is potentially and dangerous drug. Beware of it and make sure that you have a good doctor. I have since changed mine.
519736 tn?1253986826 I have no knowledge of these medications, but did look up side effects of statins. If it does happen to be a side effect, how long should he wait to see if this pain resolves itself after stopping the lipitor....any help is appreciated.
Avatar f tn t comment on the pharmacological aspects of the drugs and the effects you experience. But a free clinic gets competitive pricing from buying drugs in bulk for a limited-term contract. Doctors are sometimes influenced by advertisement with new drugs, etc. a free clinic is not.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290. I would appreciate any insight or suggestions.
Avatar n tn I'm not sure that your problems can be the result of Arimidex. There are other drugs and each and every one has basically the same side effects BUT not all are always experienced by every person ... also many even though a factor, are not experienced to the same degree. You might take this up with your Oncology Team in detail. You should remember though that this may be totally unrelated to Arimidex or any other aromatase inhibitor. Regards ....
Avatar n tn I was on medication in and out as I develop side effects to the statin drugs. I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs.
Avatar f tn I am not familiar with Lipitor, but I did google it, side effects of taking it r muscle pain....fibro has a tender point test and is the result after ur dr has eliminated other conditions that share the same symptoms...see the health pages to the right of the screen...scroll down......ur best bet would be to see ur dr.
Avatar n tn It's normal and those numbers are not really high. A couple things, first off doctors don't get too concerned until these get over 300. Also, statins have been show to be harmless to the liver. In fact, the FDA no longer recommends that doctors do additional blood tests to check for effects of a statin on the liver. Ask you doctor when they would like to retest.
1463256 tn?1286028981 there is a horrendous underreporting of side effects. Ninety to 99 percent of serious side effects are not reported by doctors." As to lung damage, the Pharmacovigilance Working Group of the European Medicines Agency put out a warning to physicians in Europe and throughout the world in November of 2009 that "if interstitial lung disease develops, patients must be taken off statins immediately.
Avatar n tn Actually, Lipitor is much stronger than Simvastatin and has a much higher incidence of side effects, unless I have missed some new data. According to the links I have Simvastatin is the safest statin on the market.
Avatar m tn You may even call your pharmacy, they will be more qualified to answer. Remember, Lipitor is much stronger and usually will have more side effects and much depends on why you got off it in the first place.
Avatar n tn If you had high cholesterol, heart disease you will have to stay on cholesterol meds for the rest of your life just like with the BP meds. Once you stop the cholesterol meds your cholesterol will go back where it was or even higher.
Avatar m tn I stopped Crestor for 33 days. my lipids were: TC 139 HDL 35 TRG 126 LDL/HDL 2.3 GLU 88 Now they are: TC 211 HDL 29 TRG 164 LDL/HDL 5 GLU 96 I did not relax my strict Mediterrean diet nor hard daily exercise.
