10996785 tn?1432812977 No one told me about lipitor side effects. I literally felt like my body was freezing up. When I Googled it, they referenced ALS like symptoms. This really blew my mind. (spill the wine). They say it may take a month or longer to feel a little bit better. The blood work being ok is a big thing all of a sudden. I have a low grade side effect. I'm weaning off trazodone now, next neurontin, then nortripyline. Maybe. Better days ahead. Maybe...

Avatar f tn The free clinic I go has switched me from Crestor to Lipitor even though my LDL is very high. It's a thorn in my side and won't budge even with Crestor. The cardiologist was even talking about adding another medicine to fight it. When I mentioned this to the clinic they told me every couple of years they switch drugs. So basically they can't afford to care about exceptions.

Avatar f tn After recovering from Stage 4 Kidney Failure, after 4 years off Simvastatin, which caused it, my doctor recommended an MRI with and without contrast. I objected to the contrast dye because I knew about the risk of NSF (Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis). He assured me that my kidneys would flush it out of my system in 24 - 36 hours. 4 days later I awoke with both hands clenched tight and opening them was painful.
Avatar n tn I take lipitor (atorvastatin) which is the one with the lowest recorded number of side effects. Avatar n tn Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, it is greatly appreciated. My last vaccine was over a week ago, and I have seen some fluctuation of the side effects since this post as well. Avatar n tn I have been at the Mayo Clinic for the last week. It has been a very pleasant experience, given my circumstances. They have been very efficient and very informative. They have treated me like a person and not just a number. I am very impressed. I am looking for some personal advice on medications. I was dx with CIS due to the fact that I am not really experiencing any symptoms other than the optic neuritis, which has resolved for the most part.

Avatar f tn He insisted that I had arthritis Finally a friend suggested that I look up the side effects of lipitor on the net. It was all there and I had more than half of the symptoms on the list, severly. I have since taken my self off lipitor and have been off it now for ten weeks. I am much better but still not totally back to normal. This is potentially and dangerous drug. Beware of it and make sure that you have a good doctor. I have since changed mine.
Avatar n tn Has anyone responded to your question? I was recently diagnosed and heard that Dr. Gray at the Mayo Clinic does have some expertise in treating this disease. Of course, my insurance does not cover the doctors at the Mayo Clinic. I have been seen at the UCLA Revlon Center, but they really have no expertise in this area, so I feel like my treatment has come to a standstill.
