Avatar n tn I started with Lescol , then lipitor and now Crestor. The reason for these changes was to try to find a product that does not cause so much muscle cramps. This I decided I had enough. Craps in leg and foot musles have become unbearable. Can you suggest a remidy to avoid incresing my chol level again.
Avatar n tn There are a number of reasons to have leg cramps and different types of leg cramps. I dont think the development of cramps in the legs would have any relationship to stents in the blood vessels of the heart. If there is any relationship beyond coincidence, perhaps it is that medications like diuretics to treat hypertension and heart disease can cause dehydration and electrolyte disturbances which can predispose one to night time cramps.
Avatar n tn I have been on Lipitor for about 8 years and started having leg pain and many muscle aches. Dr wanted an ultrasound for blood clots since I recently had surgery. Thank goodness there was no blood clots. SO I asked my dr if she thought it could be the lipitor. She never even thought about it. So she agreed and and I went off of Lipitor for 2 weeks and the pain almost stopped.

We have been on simvastatin for (wife for 1+ years, me for 2+ years) and stopped about 5-6 months ago - wife still having pains in the butt some dizziness and leg pain, but getting better - I am having butt pain and leg pains, swollen left knee, (but joint pain seems OK on stairs), recovery seems slower than my wife's.
Avatar m tn Hi all, My father had a triple by pass surgery about 18 months ago, and has been taking Lipitor, Perondopril and Atenolol. He's been getting abnormal hair growth on one side of his leg and back and chest since he's been on Lipitor, and Perondopril. I googled to see what I could find, and found this site saying that Lipitor can cause abnormal hair growth. http://www****.com/ds/lipitor/hair%20growth%20abnormal/ My question is, has anyone else taking Lipitor experience this?

329994 tn?1301663248 you could have restless leg syndrome. Has anyone evaluated you for that? Or it could be the Lipitor...or maybe even sciatica. I can't remember, did you ever have an MRI of your lower back? That would reveal any abnormalities in your spine. Abnormalities can cause pain in your legs- even into your feet- especially if you have any nerve issues.
Avatar n tn He is on maximum medication and has been doing relatively well until about 2 months ago when he started noticebly dragging his right leg and not swinging his right arm. He is also loosing function in his right hand. His cardiologist did a CT scan of the head which was normal, ruling out stroke or brain bleed. His bloodwork was normal. A nuclear stress test has been done & we will receive those results in 2 days. Any thoughts on what could be causing this new symptom?
Avatar m tn My husband is having a warm sensation in his left leg and foot. He wonders what this could be?He has high chloresterol level. Would this have anything to do with it? He's never had this feeling before. He does take Lipitor for his chloresterol.Occasionally has Hernias.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Lipitor for high cholesterol in 1997. In 2001, following a sleep study, I was found to have restless leg syndrom and prescribed Sinemet for the symptoms. Over the years the symptoms increased, and I now have severe lower back and neck pain, joint pain (especially knees) and my RLS has become more pronounced. I now have the symptoms beginning much earlier in the day, so have had to increase the use of Sinemet.
Avatar f tn About 2 years ago I bruised my feet real badly. I spent a few days helping someone move. I only had on some very flimsy sandals and it was concrete floors. The last day I noticed my feet hurt very badly. I was limping by the time I got home that last day. It continued for a few weeks. This winter I have noticed that my toes and bottom of feet get very cold and hurt a lot. I can put them in warm water and rub with lotion and it gradually stops.. They didn't hurt at all in the summer.
1583640 tn?1296674030 They occur mostly at night, but bending my leg too much can also trigger an attack. My pharmacist says its from the Lipitor. My doctor says its from Vitamin D and Magnesium deficiencies. I think she's too close to the situation and would like to consult another doctor, but don't know what kind of specialist to see about muscle problems. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn He had multiple blood transfusions (prior to 1992) due to a serious infection in his leg and many surgeries. We are assuming that is when he was exposed. A doctor has been monitoring his liver functions pretty regularly for the past 3 years because he has been on lipitor. His functions were all normal except for one time about a month after starting lipitor when then were slightly elevated.
Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia. I get excruciating cramps (charlie horses) in my calfs, toes, arch of feet, top of feet, inner right thigh, sides of calfs from the outside knee down to ankle. When I walk outside my home such as going to get groceries I am sure to have these cramps at night. They may also come during the daytime. My fingers and hands spasm also. My fingers on my right hand will pull in toward the center or my hand.. I became very ill about 2 years ago.
