Lipitor cost without insurance

Common Questions and Answers about Lipitor cost without insurance

lipitor

Avatar f tn Interesting! My insurance policy give me a cost reduction for simvastatin with the exclusion of Lipitor. My doctor wanted me on Lipitor; this occurred about 6 months ago. Hope it works out for you. Take care.
Avatar m tn My medical insurance company stopped covering Lipitor and my doctor has been trying to find a suitable replacement. First, I was prescribed Pravacol which brought on a strong anxiety attack after taking it for 3 days. I was then given Crestor. I had an episode the next morning at work when I freaked out over several people speaking at one time. I was "in a cloud" the rest of the day. This happened after only taking one dose.
Avatar f tn The total out-of-pocket wihout insurance would be $2400 a year. With insurance it would be $1900 a year. So now the total cost of medical care with United catastrophic insurance is $6300 and uninsured out-of-pocket cost is $3600. The costs of outpatient procedures and other things are generally comparable to that and I'm not going to bother doing the math on them as I'm not familiar with the costs there.
678451 tn?1226425977 I have just started on Lipitor for what has been determined to be a genetic predisposition to High Cholesterol level. The physician wishes that I be maintained on 10 mgs. daily. However the Rx. was written for 40 mgs, to take one half tablet every second day(since the cost of procuring the 40 mg tablet is significantly lower). Will taking 20 mgs every second day give me the same benefit of 10 mgs daily. Or, is it best to take the medication daily as oppose to every second day.
Avatar f tn Hey guys....my birthday is on the 10th of this month and I will be 21. So next year I will be 22 and I'm still in college and of course I'm diabetic. My parents insurance over cover me until I'm 22. What's a good insurance for diabetics and how much will it cost because I can't go not being uninsured. I can barely keep up with what my insulin and strips cost now WITH insurance.
Avatar n tn I know what you mean about the cost of medicine. Funny how too similar medicines can have such a cost difference. Just because they still have the patent, they are allowed to rape the public of their money. Wonderful health care system we have. I been paying insurance premiums my whole adult life. Now I have to pay close to $5000 out of pocket over my health. Something just isn't right there. I wonder if these doctors get kick backs for prescribing more expensive medicine??
469720 tn?1388146349 When I asked the new company why I was paying $10 (my usual generic co-pay), she said it was because that was what my deductible was. BUT, if I wanted to pay for the RX without using my insurance card, it would be $4.00!!! Unbelievable! It really does pay to shop and ask, ask, ask. It's still hard for me to believe that medication is a marketable commodity!! Tony, We just filled several prescriptions for my MIL at Medco. They were great to work with and very price-competitive.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant with my first child and I had the same question about how much it would cost. I have insurance but mines was able to give me an estimate of how much a vaginal birth and c - section would cost out of pocket. Vaginal birth was about $5,000-$6,000 and C - section was about $8,000-$9,000. I am assuming this varies depending on labor. Hope this helps some.
Avatar n tn umm in the usa without insurance, n im chronic.
Avatar n tn Like any health treatment, it can be quite costly without insurance. If you are in the states, I would recommend going to Planned Parenthood. They will charge you on a sliding scale fee or for free and make things very affordable.
Avatar m tn The Lipitor will cost me $130/mo., the Lovastatin will cost $5/mo. Aside from the obvious cost difference, which RX is better? The bottom line is that I really do not want to take a statin at all BUT if I have to take one, I want to take what will work the best at lowering my LDL levels. Also, if I've been taking a statin for a few months, can I just stop taking it? What happens if I stop?
Avatar f tn can someone walk me through the process of getting health insurance? I don't currently have any, and I'm already seeing how expensive this pregnancy will be without it. I had my first visit yesterday and it's cost $240 out of pocket. I'm 18 on August 28th, any advice?
612551 tn?1450022175 Like many (most) drug plans I have to pay something even with insurance. The Tartrate I pay the whole cost, still much lower than Suc for me. Tartrate is generally available from the pharmacies offering a $10, 90 supply, that's 180 tablets. I devote some time today/night to searching the web for research on how BB concentration levels look with 1 24 hr pill verses 2 12 hr pills.
Avatar f tn I am just wondering if that how much you really gotta pay with or without insurance just for a freaking check up. I mean they just ask MW how I'm doing check my blood pressure check my baby's heartbeat and that's it. Oh they check if I still have the bacterial vaginosis and if I still have any other infections by peeing and a swab. Seriously? Just for all that. I mean I ain't paying anything but its still my insurance. Or their a rip off?!?!
629668 tn?1222914854 My insurance only covers the office visits and the meds but does not cover the IVF cost. It cost us about 8000 for the procedure.
Avatar m tn I had to quit taking Crestor (10 mg daily) due to changing insurance companies. My doctor has now prescribed 80 daily mg of Lipitor. This seems to be quite a change in dosage and the Lipitor pill is too large to be taken whole.
Avatar f tn In Canada without insurance it costed me $25, however I'm not sure how much is covered by the public health care or if it falls under prescriptions and private insurance. In pets the cost is $500-1500 depending on the length of testing so I would assume it should be somewhere around that.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
748907 tn?1233163781 If you don't have health insurance you can look into one of the government trials going on. They pay for the tests and the meds. If you are denied by insurance you can call one of the two numbers above for Commitment to Care of Pegasys but then you'd have to still pay for all the tests.
Avatar m tn can anyone give me an idea of what interferon costs im just looking for a round about figure so i can start planning to try and afford it i know what my insurance will cover im looking for either the cost beofre or without insurance as well as with insurance or just what you paid for it and if you live in georgia and have coventry as your insurance provider i would really like to chat with you about the costs
1218873 tn?1300091216 There is no rhyme or reason to the US Medical system. Everyone gets charged differently for the same MRI at the same facilitiy. The same with Pharamceuticals. The Government sets the rates for Medicare reimbursement which is too low for service. The insurance companies one by one negotiate with the facilities and Drug plans every year or so, which is based loosely on Medicare.
1036535 tn?1278502599 Looking at the EOB from insurance they repeatedly charged me for something that cost $89.72. The only thing I got more several times was Pepsi, and I know an 8 oz. can doesn't cost that much ;) I can't believe the stupid insurance company paid this right away, but haven't paid other, more legitimate things without a fight!
Avatar m tn I ask because the Lipitor fullpage ads in national magazines say DO NOT BREAK TABLETS and they Lipitor website from Pfizer also says on the meds page DO NOT BREAK TABLETS but my doctor told me to break the 10 mg tabs in half and take just half each day. I wrote to Lipitor's PR department in NYC, a very polite letter, and they so far refuse to answer my emails, preferring to stonewall me, er, pillwall, me, which I do not understand why they would do that. I am a customer. I buy their pills.
Avatar f tn no matter how much the hospital bill comes to be id go to the er like asap! red blood isnt good!! i dnt think yu have to pay anything up front anyways...
Avatar n tn The difference between the full cost of a treatment (which the uninsured often are charged), and the amount the insurance company tells them they will pay is often quite a bit. If you have cash and offer to pay up front (for a discount) you may get charged less than what they can get out of the insurance company, because it's less hassle and instant money for them. Just a thought, even if you had to borrow the money. Will your Endo accept results from another facility?
