His doctor started him on Lipitor 20 mg. After a few months he can hardly move-- his joints ache and he is getting new joint injuries daily-- (knuckels are swelling--arm muscle injury won't heal--).. His doctor stopped the meds, waited a week, then started at lower dose. Same results, He went from a vibrant energetic man to a slow limping man in a few months. What injuries is this medication doing to his joints? Might they be permanent? Does the Lipitor dissolve the calcifications?

I still struggle to a point that I experience muscle weakness and chronic fatique due to this. If he ablates the extra 1, he is going to destroy my natural pacemaker and THEN he has to implant a Pacemaker.

t find the right medicine...Lipitor caused severe muscle weakness, Zetia caused all kind of digestive problems and Pravachol zapped my energy...my count actually went up 30 points while taking WelChol! My husband was prescribed generic lipitor about a year ago. Prior to this he was advised to use Slo Niacin. When he began the lipitor, his dr. did not tell him to stop taking the Slo Niacin. He has been taking them together daily. Last week he experienced more frequent, loose bowels, but did not feel "sick"..This went away and he started to have muscle pain in the chest and upper back and his legs..that began 3 days ago. The muscle pain is preventing him from getting any sleep.

Hey guys. I post in different communities here. I know that it's known that lipitor has the side-effect of muscle tiredness and aches. Has anyone else have to deal with this? Man it's off the hook. For the most part I function fine, just feel a little weakness in the shoulder area on occasion, and a bit of discomfort (almost like a burning sensation) on the back part of the upper arm near the shoulder. This comes and goes but I usually feel it a couple of time a day.
