When released, she had a lot of swelling in the ankles and difficult breathing. Although most of the swelling has gone down, she still has trouble breathing, just by doing small tasks, even as simple as getting up to get a drink. People with class 4 heart failure have symtpoms just lying in bed and class 2 and 3 are between those two extremes. Your father would probably be considered class 2 or 3 depending on how short the distances are that he can walk without symptoms. In general individuals with heart failure are on sodium and fluid restrictions and the severity of these will depend on the degree of heart failure.
Honestly I had this issue before I started on Hemo, my first 8 months with total renal failure (no urine output what so ever) sweating was the only thing that saved me before I left my non helpful HMO who kept telling me my kidneys were fine and went elsewhere and started on dialysis. Kidney disease affects the heart, and after all this time my sweating has become worse.. I started on Phoslo binders for phosphorus and to my horror I never realized the side effect of these..
Thanks for the info

If I do any physical activity my hands and feet will turn very red and be very hot and I can feel the heat radiating off my hands and feet. If I am outside and the weather is hot and I am wearing flipflops my feet will get beat red and so will my hands. I dont feel any pain but it is uncomfortable because i can feel something happening in my feet and even my legs. If i take a hot shower my feet and legs become beat red and my legs get blue even and I dont know why.
My understanding is that the statins with the greatest LDL reducing effect are Crestor, Lipitor, Zocor, and Pravachol, in that order. I don’t mention Leschol and Mevacor since they appear to be rarely used since recently due to the aforementioned being more powerful. Do we have any available solid data on the effects of the various individual statins other than LDL reduction? For example, do we know which ones raise HDL the most? What about effects on particle size or Lp(a), etc.
I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.
CPK is found in skeletal muscle and myocardium (heart muscle). Lipitor can cause various levels of elevation and associated symptoms like muscle aches, weakness and atrophy. The elevated CPK may be of no consequence or it may cause serious problems depending upon the degree of elevation and the symptoms. A severely elevated CPK can cause liver damage. I would consult with your physician to determine if this is a new finding.

Dogs, cats, birds and other small mammals (ferrets, gerbils and hamsters) may develop serious stomach and intestinal ulcers as well as kidney failure. 2) Acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) When it comes to pain medications, acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) is certainly popular. Even though this drug is very safe, even for children, this is not true for pets—especially cats. One regular strength tablet of acetaminophen may cause damage to a cat’s red blood cells, limiting their ability to carry oxygen.
glybride and due to a hospital stay we were informed that he now has high pressure and he is in the beginning of kidney failure because his creatinine level was 5.2. Anyway, blaming it on Lipitor just seems too simple and if that were really the case why wasn't the prescribing doctor monitoring him closer. This type of thing doesn't happen over night. Didn't anyone notice his ascites or his yellow color before his admittance to the hospital? I am not trying to lay blame here but I am a bit reluctant to buy the Lipitor theory. He had to be getting prescriptions and he should have been monitored so that this type of thing wouldn't occur.
I later restarted Lipitor at a lower dose because all research and studies strongly suggest statins, and especially Lipitor, have beneficial effects upon cardiac, vascular, and brain function, and at the lower dose I haven't had any ill effects... but again, I can't say (and my docs can't say) if my original symptoms were because of Lipitor or "adjusting" to a new metabolism or what... That's the total of my two cents... please give us an update and let us know how he's doing!
If adopted by the Food and Drug Administration, the changes would lower the maximum over-the-counter Tylenol dose and would ban two narcotic painkillers, Vicodin and Percocet, which also contain acetaminophen. Yet another painkiller, propoxyphene, was the target of FDA action on Tuesday. Also sold as Darvon and in an acetaminophen combination called Darvocet, it has been linked to accidental overdoses and suicides.
However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
After a month or so I saw my primary care physian and he recommended that I stop taking Lipitor for a six week trial period to see if that drug had anything to do with this condition and also to have a mamogram. Had the mamogram, which came back with no sign of cancer but said I had developed fibrous tissue in the left breast. After six weeks without Lipitor no change in the tenderness or the slight swelling and am back taking it again. Is there anything I might do to alleviate this situation?

However, given the evidence for mitochondrial vulnerability and pathology related to statin AEs, it merits note that other organs - including brain, liver, and kidney - can be affected by mitochondrial pathology as well, and we suggest mitochondrial mechanisms may also be involved in a range of nonmuscle statin AEs.
I have read that this enzyme has to do with muscle damage in the heart and liver. My AST (SGOT) was at 194 and my ALT (SGPT) at 56. I went to the doctor on Friday who took blood for a second more broke down reading. The dr. said the elevated AST and ALT indicated liver damage. My concern is about the Creatine Kinase that is so ridiculously high. What does this mean?
