lipitor and depression

On my own a week ago, I stopped the lipitor and the lipitor only. For the first time in 5 yrs i have no more hives. Why is there not more articles published or side effects like mine posted for lipitor??? What is your feeling on the hives from Lipitor??

It could be the Lipitor.

I also have 20-30% blockage in other artery which doctor stated with strong lipitor and diet change it should help this. I am on Lipitor 80 mg. also effient, aspirin, and coreg, which was just changed from atenolol which I had been so tired and drained my doctor switched it. I also take lisinopril, and pepcid and iron because being on blood thinners at my age it caused other issues. I have had several issues with vasalvega sincope since my heart attack I just pass out..

I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290. I would appreciate any insight or suggestions.

There is much controversy about cholesterol, but it is muted because of pharmaceutical financial interests in statins. Half of those who die of strokes or heart attacks have no history of high cholesterol. DeBakey discounted cholesterol. My own doctor pays no attention to it. What is the true role of cholesterol and how should one proceed? I don't know, but I won't take Lipitor.

Going to soft drinks would be far more beneficial for your body obviously but if this is impossible I would switch your lipitor to the mornings. Sent home with Plavix, Altace (Ramiprimil) and Lipitor (Ran-Atorvastatin). plus ASA. Have only taken Plavix and ASA so far and have a sort of congested feeling in esophagus and stomach-Like mild indigestion, feeling full and feeling like stuffing self when eat. I am a 55 year old woman who in January unexpectedly had 2 stents inserted in my LAD to open a 99% blockage and a 70% blockage. I now take toporal, lipitor, plavix and estradial. I am 5'8", 215 lbs. I am involved with cardiac rehab 3x a week. My resting BP typically is 110/70. I feel more tired now then before the procedure. I wake up tired. I struggle with depression.

Reason I ask is that I have been taking Lipitor since November H.A. and Stent, 10 mgs at first and now 5 mg at night, just before bed time, and since i started taking them, on the 10 mg dosage i had deep lovely surrealistic dreams about all kinds of things, like a movie in my brain every night, fell joyful and happy upon waking, and now with the 5 mg dosage, breaking pills in half as per doctor's orders, I still have very vivid dreaming all night long. I love it.

I know that Lipotor can artiificially lower TSH and cause a false positive for hyperthyroidism.

I stopped the lipitor 3 days ago and the pain in my legs has stopped and feet are some better. I go to the dr. soon so I will tell her. I have stopped the lipitor before for a few days and gotten back to normal.

had coiling embolisation done with stent due to an unruptured aneurysm on the right ICA. returned to hospital afterwards due to TIA symptoms and was given Lipitor as cholesterol level was borderline and given just to make sure that it is not causing the "mini-stroke". I was wondering if anyone here has experienced hair loss from taking a statin. My husband was placed on Lipitor about 5 months ago and has noticed that he's losing more than a normal amount of hair. His hairline isn't receding; it's thinning from all over.

I been dealing with ringing ears for about 3 months now. That's one of the symptoms I hate the worse next to the depression and fatigue. I'm on the levothyroxin still trying to get to my target. Sometimes I wonder if it's the right nedicine. I know what you mean about the cost of medicine. Funny how too similar medicines can have such a cost difference. Just because they still have the patent, they are allowed to rape the public of their money. Wonderful health care system we have.

t know the reason of the shoulder pain. But my husband thinks that this is happening becoz of Liptor . He stopped taking lipitor and trying to take some Ayurveda medicine . He still complains about the should pain. Please advise.

Hi all, My father had a triple by pass surgery about 18 months ago, and has been taking Lipitor, Perondopril and Atenolol. He's been getting abnormal hair growth on one side of his leg and back and chest since he's been on Lipitor, and Perondopril. My balance was already damage from the benzo's and alcohol abuse. Lately some of you might have read my last thread that I haven't been feeling well. Actually I haven't felt well for a very long time. I did see my PCP yesterday and we all agreed that the trazodone was the one med that was making me very sluggish.

Has he talked to a doctor about his symptoms, and has blood been drawn to determine if there are adverse reactions with the Lipitor? I'm 67 also, had a heart attack nine years ago, but have a lot of stents in between, so your husband and I have lots in common! I also recently experienced increase fatigue, some unintended weight loss and I'm short of breath, and a stress test last week indicated new blockages, I'll see the doc next week to see what's next for me.
