Lip therapy lip balm

Common Questions and Answers about Lip therapy lip balm

lip

I licked my lips to keep them moist, but they dried immediately and became sticky when pressed together. I started using lip balm, but this gave no relief. This condition has remained constant for the last 30 days. The lips remain dry and cracked, but there have been no blisters or sores--just dry, cracked lips which remain sticky when pressed together. Apparently that kid had some sort of lip infection and passed it on to me. Do the symptoms sound familiar, and is there a cure?
So, it first started in november where my lips started to feel extremely dry and chapped. I continued to use burts bees lip balm, and this particular lip gloss. a few days later, i ended up getting little bumps on the right corner of my upper lip, and a bump in the middle of my bottom lip. it was not noticeable to others unless i really pointed it out.
However, I kind of slacked this year on the lip moisturing and the 'thing' has resurfaced again (on the exact same place, exactly the same way) even if just briefly because I tackled it with lip balm immediately out of impulse and it disappeared. I am going to not use lip balm again and just visit the doctor when it shows up again, but can someone please guess what the hell do I have?
I have never had a problem before but about three weeks ago my lips felt like they were getting chapped so I used lip balm , vaseline, estee lauder lip renue, but they are still chapped they feel dry and somewhat itchy. have been using neosporin lip therapy since yesterday and they fell better when it is on but back to dry the minute it wears off! They dont seem to be getting better.
Laser therapy may be helpful for scars around the lips. As for scars located primarily on the lip itself, applying vitamin E lip balm and microdermabrasion and skin peels may help to smoothen the scar. It is best to discuss this with a dermatologist so that other options may be given you.
The vermillion border is redder and rougher than normal (but so slight that no one but me would be able to notice) and if I turn my head just right in the light you can see the tiniest pin-point lip colored bumps. After a few days of liberally applying balm, it seems the bumps slough off if I rub my lips with a warm wet rag. If at any time I don't have some type of balm on my lips, they feel as though they are shriveled up and start burning!
I also have shown some irritation to products with petrolatum. Neosporin daily lip treatment, Palmers lip balm, Aquaphor, and Blistex lip renewal seem to help but don't completely alleviate the symptoms. Neosporin night treatment, carmex, vasoline, chapstick, burts bees, other blistex have all made the symptoms worse! With all of those products I have experienced the red swollen, peeling lips. Please keep posting anything that you've tried that helps!
but its too long, like months, and couple times a yr...I do have to use a lip balm all yr round... I use the unmedicated "Burts Bees" on a regular basis. The medicated anything is just too painful. Just thought I'd give u that much more before I try another Dr Derm.
producing white, small bumps on the middle of my upper lip and along the upper lip line itself. It also is red on both rides of my upper lip and causes my entire mouth to become very dry and even leads to cracking on both corners of my mouth. Once this flares up, no lip balm will compete with what my lips go through. It also tends to itch inside my nose and along the outside of my nose, by my mouth as well.
If this is a scale, then fungal infections and dryness secondary to licking or biting the lips may be differentials. Apply a lip balm with sunscreen on the area. A vitamin E based lip balm may be able to help. Avoid prolonged and direct exposure to heat. This may further irritate the skin.
Could this be an effect from the Aloe Vera lip balm? I red something today about Fordyce's Condition and it looks awfully lot like that. I've never seen these spots before and there are plenty of them now. Will they go away or at least be less visible? It seems a little bit strange that they were not there just a few days ago...maybe something triggered them due to Aloe Vera? Feel kinda bad about this.. Hope you can help me.
Hi, You need to drink plenty of water and also keep your lips well moisturized. Apply a medicated lip balm with a sunscreen to avoid damage due to the sun. Eat a healthy diet and replace it with any deficient vitamins and minerals. If your lesions still persist, it would be best to see a skin specialist for a confirmed diagnosis and to rule out any other cause of the spot. Are you allergic to any substances? What symptoms do you have other than the lip lesion? What is your age?

Through lots and lots of experimentation, I found out I am allergic to almost every brand of lip balm including Burt's Bees, Carmex, Blistex, etc. After that happened all hell just broke loose, my lips began getting tiny tiny red bumps which also had this yellow liquid seeping out. I would put Aquaphor (one thing I was not allergic to at the time) on it but it looked like it'd only get worse. so I just let it dry out and that seemed to help.
It sometime itches if the skin get really dry, so I apply a lot of lip balm and try to drink a lot of water to deal with the problem. I have also noticed that sometimes, when I push that area of skin of my lip forward with my tongue, there is discoloration. It looks as if there is a blister forming under the skin, but there does not appear to be any liquid if I try to pop it (I know I shouldn't do it, but I wanted to make sure). Also, the skin will feel tight at times.
This is a recurring problem that I have tried to hide/cure with many ointments. Including various vasaline types, lip chap (with sunscreen protection), lip conditioner/balm (blistex sunscreen protection), also have tried Cortate Hydrocortisone ointment. Which only seems to glosson my lips and make them seem to be more red. I have also tried "Ihle's paste" for rashes, mostly used for relief of dermatitis and diaper rash, which seems to help momentarily, but only for 10 or so minutes.
So frustrating because no amount or type of lip balm seemed to help (vaseline lip therapy, body shop lip salve, etc etc). Additionally, the skin above my upper lip became dry, red and irritated. About 2-3 weeks after that, I started experiencing swollen eyelids as well as dry, wrinkled, red, itchy patches above and below my eyes. I could not apply the most mild lotion to those areas because it would burn, but it was so dry I wanted to do something.
I had the same problem for several weeks dry patch on my upper lip and when i rubed my lips together it felt awful no pain just extreamly irritating and i noticed it constantly until my doctor recommended using blistex conditioning lip balm. It went away within two days please try this it was such a simple solution. The diagnosis for the rough patches on your lips is sevearly dry skin that won't be moisturized by most lip balms or vasaline please try blistex it is $4.
Well on my upper lip not my lip but my upper lip i got raw flaky red skin i had it for about 7 months now, I tried everything too heal it and it seems like nothing works? Even topical gel,When i take a shower it gets dry real fast. All i can do is use moisturizer too help it. When my skin heals it cracks and falls off, It does the same routine every time for the past 7 months. And it does not ITCH or anything and its not eczema!
For a long time I would use neutrogena lip balm and a lipstick then carmex at at night. In the morning my lip would have very sogy skin and after the shower I would have to take the skin off. I had to do this every other day. I am seeing a new dermatologist now and he was having me use retin A at night three times a week a steroid called locoid lipocream in the morning and aquaphor during the day. Tried that for a few weeks and lip felt a little better but still raw and peeling.
Four days after performing oral sex on a woman known to have genital herpes, I developed a sore just underneath my lower lip. She was not taking suppressive therapy at the time. I applied lemon balm cream and the sore resolved within six days without noticeable bistering or scabbing. Ten days after the first lesion, a second appeared on my upper lip on the skin border.
Yes what Teko said, And try using Aveeno Intense Relief Therapy Lip Balm. I love it. My lips get really dry in the winter and my boyfriend introduced me to this one he uses and I've fallen in love with this lip balm. I use nothing else and it's nice. Aquafina lip care is good too. but nothing like Aveeno. I hope this helps you.
So since I found out I am pregnant my nipples have been inching, I've even been feeling like they're burning. I didn't have any lotion so I put Avon moisture therapy (lip balm) on them, now I have the Nivea smooth sensation for dry skin. Nothing had changed, my nipples are still on fire. Can someone help???
I constantly use lip balm for my dry chapped lips. Recently, I have developed a red ring around my lips. The redness is much more pronounced after I wash my face and/or brush my teeth or apply topical creams. I have seen pictures of Perioral Dermatitis and my lips do not look like that. Also, I've add angular Chillitis and this looks different. It isn't restriced to the sides of my mouth but instead all over. My lips can be itchy and painful due to the rash.
Do not keep your lips dry; apply lip balm which contains sunscreen – preferably a medicated one. If you have cracks at the corner of your mouth it indicates B2 deficiency in this case you need to take B2 supplements. If the symptoms still persist, consult your skin specialist or dermatologist. Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts. Regards.
the second step is a special lip balm and it makes ur lips silky soft and hydrated... u should try it. couldnt hurt.
I have tried placing ice, using witch hazel and lysine lip balm with no improvement. I do want to mention that I did pick during the initial outbreak so can that be the reason for the redness? Anything I can do make the redness go away?
I have used several types of lip balm/moisturizer but it doesn't help, actually it seem to make it worse.I have suffered from dry lips before but usually after a few days of using a lip balm everything feels fine.Could this be some sort of fungas or bacterial infection? There are no bumps or blisters and the area looks normal.I am just feeling a constant burning. Thanks for any info.
