Get a good lip balm. I've started having this problem where I was peeling my lips everyday. I use carmex, and apply it when needed during the day and apply it at night when I sleep. Burts bees is a good brand, so just go get some and use it.

I have never had a problem before but about three weeks ago my lips felt like they were getting chapped so I used lip balm , vaseline, estee lauder lip renue, but they are still chapped they feel dry and somewhat itchy. have been using neosporin lip therapy since yesterday and they fell better when it is on but back to dry the minute it wears off! They dont seem to be getting better.

I’m a bit of a lip balm addict so then when I couldn’t find lip balm for about a week my lips got all chapped, then I got some lip balm finally and now ive got little bumps all over my lips that are a bit itchy and swollen but not really any pain. I think they’re lacking moisture so excess sebum has come out causing fordyce spots. But let me know!

Hi! I had a cold sore on my upper lip a month ago that went away in about a week or so. It left a red mark after and it still hasn't gone away. I read somewhere that Vitamin E and Aloe Vera lip balm could shorten the healing time so I bought Aloe Vera and started using it on my lips since three days ago. The thing is that since I started using it my upper lip has become somewhat yellowish in some areas around the the lower side all the way around, and a little even a bit up on the lip.

I've been applying Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm for two months and recently the edges of my upper lip started drying out and in 2 days my entire lip was swollen, red and burning and feeling stretchy, but its not chapped but feels extremely dry. It has happened to me twice before (had used Avon lip balm then) and i applied Smyle herbal gel and Vaseline and it worked. This time though it is not working. I've been applying Smyle gel and Himalaya lip balm to cure it.

I am 21 weeks and have been using burts bees lip balm from about week 7. I thought it was best product from what I read, but I just found out it has rosemary extract in which is a herb you are supposed to avoid in pregnancy. Can anyone tell me their experience or if it is in fact safe?

The next day my friend used his lip balm but did not apply it directly onto his lips, keep in mind that he had just opened the lip balm it was new. After he applied the balm with his finger onto his lip, I used the lip balm directly onto my lips. If my friend did get something from the guy he had hooked up do I have a chance of getting it too? If my friend did get something, would have the disease spread quickly enough to his lips since it have been less than 24 hours.

I have been applying chap stick and paw paw balm before my lips became red and sore. The lip balm eases the pain and dryness but is not heeling the red blots or peeling. Thank you for your suggestions.

I have chapped and swollen lips for 7 years from mouth breathing during the night because i have allergies. I started using cordi balm (hydrocordisone lip balm) recently. It seems that my lips are getting worse, but everything makes it worse even plain coconut oil. I went to my dermatologist 7 years ago and did a biopsy and found nothing. Is it normal for my lip swelling to get worse befor they get better?

They aren't cold sores (I've had cold sores and these aren't it). They are not itchy or painful. They didn't go through the cold sore stages. If I pop the blisters, my lips taste sour and the blisters form again.

I thought it was just because my office is cold, but it became swollen and i noticed that it has crusts or dried up form of a watery discharge. It finally went away and i started using the said lip balm again, then days after that the symptoms came back.

In the recent times I could see that its increasing and I am suspecting that using lip balm has made it even worse. Is that true?

If the area is irritated by a hot, dry climate, I recommend that you keep you lips moisturized with a lip balm. If you spend time outside you should look for a lip balm with SPF. I hope this helps.

Hi, About 2 months ago I noticed a part of my upper lip was tingly, I suspected it was a cold sore to used zovirax on it. The next day no cold sore appeared but that area looked red and irritated and was a bit dry. I continued using carmex lip balm to calm it down but it didn't do anything, it remained dry and chapped and felt tight. It has progressively got worse, its not as red anymore but my lips (both upper and lower) now feel tight and dry.

your oral symptoms are more likely from irritation and chapping from performing oral ( as well as some anxiety thrown in ). Use a good lip balm and if you notice any obvious cold sores, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing.

I've had the same problem for 2 years now. I've never been allergic to anything but started developing all kinds of allergic reactions. I found out I'm allergic to certain lip balms and lipsticks. Vaseline helped it when it was trying to heal. I'm definitely allergic to EOS lip balms, but that confuses me because I thought they had natural ingredients. I'm still not sure which ingredients I'm allergic to yet.

Or it can actually be peeled off if i use lip balm. I have been taking multi vitamins for atleast a year daily, with no change. I use lip balm daily just to hide it (Burts Bee's). I drink water like a guppy (4-5 cups a day). Im really at a loss here as I cant seem to figure out what could be causing it. Any professional advice?
