I would highly recommend you speak with your doctor, that's an unusual side effect. It could be an allergic reaction. I don't see anywhere that there is a reaction like that. Are you taking any other meds of any kind including OTC? Do you have allergies in general? My dad gets swollen lips when he is in contact with an allergen. Sounds like it may be the same thing, but do check with your doctor. Hang in there!
It feels like it's been burned and all the pores are stretched painfully over the swelling. i have NEVER had an allergic reaction to a skin product before. it hurts an unbelievable amount. I've taken a zirtek and put some anthisan on the swelling but it still hurts a lot. Is this something that will calm down itself or should I see a dermatologist?
If such an allergic reaction happens in future, a simple ant allergic pill will help like cetirizine. Please do keep me posted. Best Rgds.
Hello, Swollen lip can be an allergic reaction to peanuts. Were you taking the medicines before also or have you started them recently?the symptom of swelling lips is mostly seen in angioedema due to peanut allergy. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America estimates that peanut allergy is the most common cause of food-related death. If you had an anaphylactic reaction to peanuts can be found by allergy testing.Skin tests are used for this purpose.
i have a a swollen lip for a week it stared in pain but now its numb what can i do?
If yes, was the skin condition relieved? The cause of the swelling may be due to an allergic reaction to an unknown trigger. If there are no known allergies, then blood tests to determine the presence of infections may be done. Fever, joint pains and rash may indicate an underlying infectious process. I suggest that you have this assessed by your doctor. For inflammatory conditions, corticosteroids are usually prescribed to help alleviate the swelling or inflammation.
Got up itch my lip and ate a fruit. A nd then my lip was swollen with littl bumps. Can allergic reactions look like water blisters orcold sores? Thats my big thing because all d websites say if u get a water blister or cold sore on the lip you have HSV1???
Recently I woke up with my top lip slightly swollen. I didn't think anything of it but when I turned my lip inside out, I saw a small patch of red. The swelling went down, but then I noticed about 7 tiny bumps on both my lips that look like the beginning of a cold sore. I typically get cold sores once a year when I get sick and a fever throws my body temperature out of whack, so lately I've been taking alot of ibuprofen to reduce my fever on order to avoid cold sores.
I didn't eat or drink anything out of the ordinary...could I have developed an allergic reaction to something? And how can I find out? When should I seek medical help? I don't want to go to the doctors and find out this is nothing. But, alternately I don't want to think this is nothing and I end up unconscious or something.
Hello zed29, It sounds like you've had an allergic reaction to the Passion Peel off mask. Since you're a teenager, I would ask your mother to make you an appointment to see your family doctor as soon as possible. I would bring the Passion Peel off mask product with you to the appointment so your doctor can look at the listed ingredients and so you can have a talk with your doctor. You may need a referral to an allergist by your doctor. That's how you do it in Canada.
If you look at most of the ingredients in your lip glosses/chapsticks/or any other lip product that you are allergic to, you can almost pinpoint what is causing your bad reactions. It's different for everyone, so I can't provide an answer for you guys, but I can tell you that I am allergic to Chapstick, Carmex, MAC lipglasses/glosses soft lips, and other random free chapsticks that I had gotten as gifts, ie rosebud's.
I was real mad at myself for I had a first ever allergic reaction to something. My lip swelled up and I didn't know what was going on!!! I thought it was a mosquito bite, but my swollen lower lip spread all across my lowe rlip and I got concerned.... H1N1? The Nile virus? an unknown bug? Maye a incurable virus? I didn't go to work that night and saw a doctor at the hospital. It was an allergic reaction to something. Food? I did have some grapes, an orange with a skin I peeled.
Next day I fedexed pictures to my internist, who thought perhaps I was having a severe allergic reaction to medications used for the fever blister, so he prescribed 2% cortisone ointment 2x per day, which has helped enormously (I can now open my mouth almost all the way (maybe 75%), and the cracks have subsided). I also feel generally better, not so tired.
That exact thing happened to me once. I never did find out exactly what caused it but I thought it had been an allergic reaction to the type of condoms we were using. My swelling went away in a day.
The swelling could be due to angioedema. This is swelling of the deeper layers of the skin due to an allergic reaction. The reaction occurs more commonly on the face around the lips and near the eyes. Therapy lies in identifying the allergens and avoiding them and anti histamines. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
leads me to believe that it's definitely an allergic reaction. I have another friend who is allergic to all waxes that contain beeswax. Apparently there is a sugar based wax that she does not have any allergic reaction to. I'm going to try that myself as the hives I get are getting worse each time I get waxed. For me it's a little different b'c I've been getting waxed for over 15 years & have always had little red bumps that go away in a day or two.
About 6 weeks after his surgery he developed hives that were localized below his waist and down the sides of his trunk. In addition, his upper lip and uvula have been swollen on occasion. We already know there was no cement used during the replacement. He has been on prednisone twice, has taken 50 mg. of Benedryl every 6 hours for 30 days, and has been on Zyrtec and Tagamet every night for the past two months. He also went to an allergist who did thyroid studies on him.
Hello, Unexpected swelling of the lip is not normal. It is frequently caused by allergies. An allergic reaction can occur suddenly, even in a person with no previous history of allergy. This swelling is called angioedema. Diagnosis is by clinical examination and complete blood tests, electrolytes and renal function tests. Treatment is by antihistaminics like Benadryl or Zyrtec and steroids. If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a physician. I hope it helps.
My lip is swollen alot and it is getting embarassing, is there any way that i can stop the swelling quickly
Did you just notice it this morning or has it been coming on for a few days? Do you know? As fast as it's swelling, it sounds like an allergic reaction to something.....Make sure you don't see a splinter, stinger, etc. in it, as you would need to get them out first. Benedryl (OTC) is used for an allergic reaction...The dose is 1-2mg. per lb. every 8 hrs. Start with this and see if it helps....

Hello, Without examaintion,it is very difficult to confirm a nything but your symptoms are suggestive of an allergic reaction(food allergy) to the rice or any other ingredients of the preparations that you had at night. The swelling of the lip may be due to angioedema. You can find out to which ingredient you were allergic by getting allergy testing done. Skin tests are used for this purpose. This test involves pricking, scratching or injecting food extracts into the patient’s skin.
