Often I feel the itchy tingly lips with what I would call a hive, and when I get my lip waxed I have little bumps that itch and tingle around the lip for a week. Is it possible to get mild coldsores? I am used to the ones I have seen on friends or on TV and mine dont look like that but the tingling, itching and little bump (not very red, if at all) will show up frequently.
Also, the week this happened, I had what the std doc thought could be a whitlow-he didnt biopsy-wasnt sure.
Keep in mind that with kissing, it would take some deep rubbing friction romantic kissing to force the virus into the lip nerve. If this is a new infection the sores would be on your lips not inside your mouth as primary outbreaks would be at point of contact.
Reoccurent outbreaks could happen inside your mouth but this would mean you already have herpes prior to the affair.
I can only say that the area is swollen, and painful. I have a history of cold sores which led me to take the antibiotics I usually take when I get one, but the blemish has not decreased in size or intensity, but also has not gotten any worse.
My mom had what looked like a fever blister on her lower lip. Problem is that it never went away!! Months later her bottom lip still looks bad and it has spread across her entire lower lip. It is painful and it scabs up and falls off over and over. She has been to the dermatologist several times, been on several antibiotics and has used lots of creams still nothing has helped!! Any advice would be very helpful!!!
The medicine helped my sore throat but 3 days later the sores spread and were on my cheeck, gums, inside lip, and on the inside of my lower lip. It hurt to eat and swallow. It took another 3 days and they were gone. Since then every few weeks one or two will show up again in the exact same place on the top of my lower lip closest to the inside of my mouth. They are white/red (hard to see unless your infront of my face) and sometimes blends pretty close to the color of my lips.

It can be due to contact dermatitis to your face cream, shaving lotion etc but the possibility of cold sores also needs to be ruled out. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down.
For the past three weeks or so, I've had a crack in the middle of my upper lip that will not heal. Just about the time it starts to feel closed, I smile, and - bam - it opens up. Two or three years ago, I started developing sores that somewhat appear to be cold sores, but don't really run the course of what I know of cold sores. I never had cold sores before in my life, but, one of my sons suffers horribly with them, so, I was familiar with the what they're like.
I have lip discoloration problem its effecting my self esteem. My natural lip color is red but while back the upper line of my lip changed to kind of white. If look close there like micro size pinhead shaped white spots clustered together. There is no pain or itch or anything but my lips look ugly if one looks closely.
The following day my lip began to swell up and now it is really swollen, I cant feel anyhting from my lower lip to my chin, it severely hurts at night that I cant sleep, my lip is different colors and drying up. What should I do? I have been to the ER and was prescribed antibiotics and pain pills but just strted those today. Im worried... Do I have some weird disease?

If the blister like thing is on the inside of the lip, then mucocle has to be ruled out. But if it is present on the lip itself then cold sores has to be ruled out. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
Hi. Four days ago I felt a tiny bump inside my bottom lip at the very bottom. A few hours later it was really swollen and seemed like a lump on the inside of my lip. Then i think I accidentally popped it and later that night another bump popped up right above that one. Then I popped it and the next morning a new fluid filled bump was on the top of my lip. Since then I've stopped popping them cause another one would come up a few mm away. My lip was very swollen in that area.
Four small bumps appeared on my upper lip yesterday. Both lips were dry and itchy. I put some hydrocortisone on the upper lip but it started to burn so I washed both lips and placed Vaseline on them and went to bed. This morning I awoke and found the bumps still there and the upper lip swollen. I dont know what is happening, please help me.
From the description given by you the commonest possible causes are herpes/cold sores, or very rarely canker sores. Though herpes is commonly transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual, touching items infected with herpes virus like razors, towels, dishes and other items can also lead to transmission of herpes. Canker sores usually occur on the inside of the mouth while herpes occurs on the outer lips.
I have had a red bump above my lip for the last two weeks. At first I thought it was a zit, then I thought it was a cold sore and treated it with Abreva. After 4 or 5 days treating it, nothing happened. Now it looks like a cold sore may have been there (it's a little whitish and indented in the middle) but I don't think it ever came to a head. Is this just the memory of a cold sore and a resulting scar or something I should have checked out?
m a 18 year old male, and i gave a girl oral sex, about 30 minutes later i noticed a tiny pimple on my lip, i thought it was nothing. its been about two weeks and since then my lips have been more chapped then usual. there's two pimples. The first one is in my inner top lip and its kind of clear. the second one is on my outer bottom lip.
As the week progressed, I feel like a tingling /burning sensation on my inner bottom lip. It has been a week later and my inner bottom lip is still tingling and has like a red blotchy spot looks like a small rash has appeared. I asked my friend when the last time he was tested/physical etc and he claimed he was fine, tested a few months ago, and was "clean". I was tested a few months ago and haven't been kissing or physical with anyone else.

Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be a canker sore. Canker sores are small shallow ulcers that appear in the mouth and often make eating and talking uncomfortable.
Pain from a canker sore generally lessens in a few days and the sores usually heal without treatment in about a week or two. Avoid spicy or acidic foods during this time.
I am concerned I might have a cold sore. It is on the center of my bottom lip, on the lip, but it doesn't itch or burn. It is merely tender and a raised slightly darker bump. I have never had herpes before and I would like to know what to do to slow down the infection or to speed up the healing progress. Thanks.
I also have a couple blisters on my bottom lip. They are located at the very top of my lip, where my top lip and bottom lip touch. They have been there for 4 days as well. They also have a yellow waxy top. They have yet to bleed or ooze anything out, same thing with penis. It hasn't bleed or oozed anything out. now it did tingle when i started peeing the 1 st day i noticed something on my lip but not down there. i did go to the doctor and he automatically said it was herpes.
I am a 37 year old straight male who was diagnosed with GHSV1 by my GP on 11/13/2013. He seemed to be somewhat uncertain. This is the first time I've been tested for HSV so I can't report any previous results. When I was a kid, around 14 years old, my doctor at the time visually diagnosed me with "some kind of herpes". I had blisters on my mouth which covered the majority of both lips and extended slightly above my top lip.
