) and it seems to help, problem is he's been getting a line of sore spots along his top lip. Not blistery sores like canker sores or fever blisters, just very small, VERY angry red spots that are very sore. Is this something anyone else has dealt with? And if so, HOW did you deal with it?
I just posted this same thing on another thread. I used Vagisil on my lip corners when they got those sores. Sounds gross, but worked really well for me. Good luck.
I have noticed that I am getting sores in the corners of my mouth. The skin breaks very easily and has been, for me, impossible to heal. Is this a side effect and if it is how can I treat it ? I have tried chapstick so it doesn't get irritated but it doesn't stop the sores from hurting. Any ideas ?
for the past 5 months on and off i have suffered from dry sores on the corners of my mouth after a while using cold sore lip cream it goes but then soon returns, its not contagious and not very painful but itchy and easy spreads and splits when i yawn !
For the past 10 years I have had really sensitive lips and have only been able to use one type of lip balm. As anything else - lip sticks of glosses give me little sores on my lips and cause them to puff up and get little scabs and peel contantly - i also get dry patches under my eyes and eye lids. When I visited a doctor they told me I may have an allergy to nail polish and an ingrediant in lip glosses/balms its also happens when I were nail polish.
The medicine helped my sore throat but 3 days later the sores spread and were on my cheeck, gums, inside lip, and on the inside of my lower lip. It hurt to eat and swallow. It took another 3 days and they were gone. Since then every few weeks one or two will show up again in the exact same place on the top of my lower lip closest to the inside of my mouth. They are white/red (hard to see unless your infront of my face) and sometimes blends pretty close to the color of my lips.
What Causes Canker Sores? Canker sores are very painful sores found inside the mouth that often appear out of nowhere, leaving suffers asking: What causes canker sores? Answer: We know what canker sores are, but the exact cause is still unknown. Women statistically suffer from canker sores more often than men. Canker sores are typically seen in people between the ages of 10 and 40, although they have been known to show up at any age.
Every now and again I get a pimple on my lip, sometimes on my lower lip and sometimes on my upper lip. No clustering or blistering or any precursor tingling. Just a regular pimple with a whitehead. I also get angular cheilitis in both corners of my mouth (not at the same time) at varying times (not sure if this is relevant but just a little background info.). Worried that these pimples are evidence of Herpes. Thank you.
I get the sores in the corners of my mouth and I believe it to be "Oral candidiasis" which I have only on treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --Undesirable Effects Reported with Pegasys Monotherapy for HBV or HCV or In Combination with Ribavirin for HCV Patients Upper respiratory infection, bronchitis, oral candidiasis, herpes simplex-- If I use salt water to gargle with and use mouth wash with my water pick I don't get them but if I slack off boom they come back and I use campho-phenique!
Since my lips felt dry, I started to put chapstick on the top lip just so it won't get as chapped/dry as the corners of my lips. With all these symptoms being said, is this problem more clear than it was before? Would you be able to pin point the problem? Its definitely not cold sores, right?
About six months ago I noticed a small blister-like lump towards the outer edge of my lower lip. Within a couple of weeks it had become 3, all next to each other ...possibly a single long bump, hard to say for sure. Then about 2 months ago the corner of my mouth split when I was eating, but I put that down to eating a HUGE burger. Anyway, 2 weeks ago my lips got very dry and tiny white blisters appeared on my top lip, and it felt slightly swollen.
Thank you for your advise on the perscription meds for cracked lip corners. Mine have been cracked for the past 2-1/2 years. My doctor told me to use blistex and other. That does not work at all. I asked my pharmacist and he said b-complex would work. I've been taking the b-complex for two months. They seem to try to heal and just keep cracking again. Isn't it frustrating. I will ask him for ERTACZO.
i have the smae problem with the lips too. if i keep vaseline on them it's better. my skin is dry and prone to rashes normally. but's it's worse on tx and even more in the winter. i have to keep lotion on and for the problem areas i use 1% hydrocortosone cream. that helps a lot.
For the past 2 months, my lips have been constantly dry, sore, and burn when I use medicated lip balm or eat spicy foods. I've also been getting sores in the corners of my mouth which crack and hurt. Nothing I've tried has been able to eliminate the symptoms. I noticed that this started almost immediately after a night of oral sex with my husband. After doing research, I'm assuming I have Cheilitis. Is it possible I contacted some type of fungus from my husband?
A product called Oasis helps with the dry mouth - its a spray, sold OTC. During the day I use a lip balm called Carmex for the cracks in the corners, but I'm gonna go get some of your antifungal and try that for overnight. Did you need a scrip for Magic Mouthwash or is it OTC? You must be getting pretty far along in tx - what week are you in now?
For a different approach, while on treatment I also got mouth sores and used Aloe Juice as a swish and swallow. It worked for the sores and also made my stomach feel better.
OKAY I'VE BEEN HAVING STRANGE THINGS HAPPENING TO MY LIPS LATELY FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS AT FIRST I STARTED NOTICING MY LIPS LOOKING SWOLLEN THEN AFTERWARDS A ITCHING SENSATION STARTED TO OCCURING AND I BEGIN TO PUT CARMAX ON IT AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GETTING BETTER EVERYTHING CLEARED UP BUT WHEN IT DID IT'S LIKE I HAD A LIGHT DISCOLORED SPOT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY TOP LIP SO I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND HE TOLD ME TO JUST PUT SOME REGULAR OLE PLAIN CHAPSTICK SO I DID SO AND IT DID WELL FOR THE FIRST
When I used Roaccutane I had cuts at the corners of my lips, due to dryness, and I used Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream.
I have had a rash on my lip that comes and goes. If made it's first appearance about 2 years ago as a tiny cluster of bumps on my upper lip. I changed my chapstick to aveeno and it seemed to do the trick, the rash was gone in just a day or two. Over the next year and a half, the rash would pop up every 3-6 months or so, and I could get it to disappear in a day or so jsut by applying the chapstick more often.
I don't know if the mouth sores you have are the same as cankers sores but I use Zinc and Lysine...I have gotten canker sores since childhood and the combo of zinc and lysine have always shortened the duration and severity of it.
The bumps were dissimlar in size, number and location from my previous herpes lip sores. Normally, I get one herpes blister per outbreak, and it rests along the border of the soft lip tissue. It usually recedes in about 2-4 days. The current bumps have almost completely receded this morning (2 days later). What's the fastest way for me to assess whether these were herpes blisters? I was kissing a new lover yesterday and am worried I may have exposed this person to transmission.
If you look at most of the ingredients in your lip glosses/chapsticks/or any other lip product that you are allergic to, you can almost pinpoint what is causing your bad reactions. It's different for everyone, so I can't provide an answer for you guys, but I can tell you that I am allergic to Chapstick, Carmex, MAC lipglasses/glosses soft lips, and other random free chapsticks that I had gotten as gifts, ie rosebud's.
How do you tell the difference between HSV 1 and a cracked lip? Is a bump or dry spot on the lip definitely a cold sore? These are some things I'd like to know. Thank you.
But I also started getting red, slightly puffy bumps right on the lip line on that same right side. This is the exact place where I get sold sores (have since I was 16), and I could feel tingling and burning, so I thought that's what it was and did my usual thing— Abreva, rounds of Valtrex. But the bumps never fully went away, just diminished and then flared back up. Mid-February, my lips became very, very chapped, and the red bumps flared all the time.
From reading posts on the web, it sounds like I could have both Angular Chelitis (AC) and cold sores. I have no history of canker or cold sores, however I just found out that a person I've been seeing for the last 4 mths has had cold sores before. I did have the HSV-1 and HSV-2 tests 6/10/06 - both were neg, but that was only about 1.5 mths after I started seeing the person. Questions - 1. Realizing you can only go by this description, what does this sound like to you? 2.
I was told that the positive simplex 1 test only meant that at some point in time I have been exposed to the strain that causes cold sores. Not that I have genital herpes. The reason I got this test done is because I had what appeared to be a cold sore. I have never had one before, and for the past 3 yrs I have only kissed my girlfriend in the mouth. Here is what Im afraid of, the cold sore or whatever it was healed weeks ago. Like before the last week of Jan.
It took about a full month to recover A few months after i noticed i started getting tiny sores in my mouth periodically especially on the corners of my mouth and the buccal mucosa. A few days later after the appearance of the sores i would get the dizziness and headache again. It feels miserable and i can barely function in my day to day professional work. I get these headaches usually around the temporal area but sometimes also parietal and frontal areas and also neck and shoulder aches.
i recently made out with someone over the weekend and woke up a day later with little bumps on my lower lip. they are spread out horizontally and near the corners. they are almost invisible to the human eye, but when i get really close to the mirror, i can see them. they are the same color as my lips and are completely painless. they are so slightly raised that when i run my tongue over them i can't even feel them.
the nurse told me four weeks ago. But I didn't have mouth sores like this then either. I wish I could take something to sleep until it goes away... Oh, and did I mention that the irritation of it all is making me downright miserable to be around? Hard to feel positive today. Sorry for whining, but I am a total mess. Any help, suggestions, magic potions welcome. I hope no one else is going through this right now. It is terrible. Thanks for listening.
