I got a big blister in the corner of the lip. Is really swollen. It has like some clear fluid in it. I'm worried with all the research I have done and it says that all cold sores are herpes which have me freaking out. I have only 2 sex partners until now and with the current one, we have been together 4 years and nothing like this ever happened before. We are in a committed relationship so I don't go also kissing around other people. Please enlighten me because I'm freaking out.
They didn't seem to help so I quit them. Now, I have a dry tight patch on one corner of my lower lip. It is not a very large area. No cracking, weeping, or cuts. A few years ago, I had a case of angular cheilitis and used a combo of Lotrimin and Hydrocortisone and it cleared right up. I tried that this time and when I wipe away the creme it just gets tight, dry, and crinkly again. I have never had cold sores. It is only that small patch.

After enduring a rather unusually harsh, frigid winter in Florida, I had severely chapped lips. At the corners of my lips, where the redness remains, were big cracks and got to the point where I could hardly eat- the pain from any food touching the cracks, plus the blood produced from the cracks and opening my mouth too wide, was very unpleasant. Fast forward to the present day, and what I have been ailed with for months, now.

For the past 2 months, my lips have been constantly dry, sore, and burn when I use medicated lip balm or eat spicy foods. I've also been getting sores in the corners of my mouth which crack and hurt. Nothing I've tried has been able to eliminate the symptoms. I noticed that this started almost immediately after a night of oral sex with my husband. After doing research, I'm assuming I have Cheilitis. Is it possible I contacted some type of fungus from my husband?
I have HPV but only ever had one break out on anus and since then which was 2 years ago i have been ok. But i have this reddish sore (but there is no pain) on the corner of my mouth, just between the top and bottom lip. I have looked closely and i can not see any warts there is one or two little bumps but they are tiny they cant be warts?
Yes, I had two diagonal lines (sores) from the corners of the mouth out. It's for external use, only. The cracks were so irritating that I couldn't talk much, eat much, use toothpaste, plus, to me they were horribly noticeable. For the first time in over 9 months the sores are gone. it took almost 4 weeks of twice daily use but there is a huge improvement, at least in THAT sx.
Hi, I adopted an adult female cat from our local animal shelter a few months ago. She's been fairly healthy except that I had to put her on antibiotics right after adopting her due to sneezing & stuffy nose. About 3 weeks ago we adopted a 4 month old Border Collie. It's been difficult getting the cat & puppy to get along. Earlier this week I noticed a sore on the outer corner of my cat's mouth, with fur loss on the lower lip.
I just posted this same thing on another thread. I used Vagisil on my lip corners when they got those sores. Sounds gross, but worked really well for me. Good luck.
He gets frequent mouth sores, but we got the Biotene (thanks for suggesting that!!) and it seems to help, problem is he's been getting a line of sore spots along his top lip. Not blistery sores like canker sores or fever blisters, just very small, VERY angry red spots that are very sore. Is this something anyone else has dealt with? And if so, HOW did you deal with it?
tea tree oil like I did with my previous sore. Right now the corner of my lip is sore and when I try to yawn or open my mouth, I can only open it so far because it slightly hurts when I do that. I tried googling pictures to see if anyone had something like mine but I couldn't find anything. Here's a picture of what it looks like: http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/5783/imag0545o.jpg Please help...I have work on Saturday and I want it to get cleared up before then. Thank you.
She had a severe brain injury many years ago and told me that during recovery she would get sores from thrush which I never had before, but heard the sores were like that. She told me the dr had her gargle with water and white vinegar (just a little). The idea was to change the ph of the mouth. I've done this with rice vinegar because that's what I had in the house and strangely enough it went away. it actually felt soothing, did not burn. Maybe it will help for you.
And clobex is not normally supposed ot be used on your face, armpits or groin - but if you just have two little tiny sores in the corner of your mouth, it might be ok to use it just there. Ask your doctor and dermatologist about it.
In the last day or so, a large white spot (similar to normal spots) has appeared on the outside-corner of my lip. It looks like a normal ***** spot, but is slightly painful. Could this be a cold-sore, or just a normal spot? Thanks.
i live in the same house as my sister and her boyfreind who i recently found out have oral herpes. about a week ago my sisters boyfreind had a herpes sore on the corner of his mouth. and while his sore was active we went swwimming at a lake with family and about 2 days later i now have a sore on the corner of my mouth aswell as a couple small bumps on the tip and side of mt tongue at first i had one on the side of my tongue then the corner of my mouth and the the tip of my tongue.
I have noticed that I am getting sores in the corners of my mouth. The skin breaks very easily and has been, for me, impossible to heal. Is this a side effect and if it is how can I treat it ? I have tried chapstick so it doesn't get irritated but it doesn't stop the sores from hurting. Any ideas ?
On September 13th I had a burning sensation on my lips when i got up in the morning. By that evening i developed a blister on the corner of my lip. Over the next several days, it grew, turned red, and eventually broke and oozed. In the meantime, i noticed a rash under my moustache that extended up from the corner of my mouth to my nose. This was accompanied by a prickly feeling line pins and needles.
I woke up today with an irritation on the corner of my lip. I picked at it and then turned into what looked like a pimple which I never get. I also never get cold sores, so i researched online and most websites said it is herpes virus 1. I havent been sexually active but they say you can get it from kissing. Im really worried that i now have herpes, what do you think most likely it is?
My partner woke up with 4red spots near his lip area just below the corner of lips. These have been there for 3 days now and they are drying slowly.I wanted to ask if these could be taken with oral sex as we argued a lot and would like a type of confirm from an experienced dermatologist. In my opinion,it is an infected area as these spots are very close to each other and the area they are is redish skin too I mean underneath them.
The next morning, I saw a large whitehead growing, larger than a normal pimple, but nonetheless, a whitehead. It grew in size and was located at the corner of my mouth, bottom lip, but not solely on the lip...a bit on a bit off. Anyways, day two, I went in and popped it like I normally do a pimple. When I did, whitish fluid came out but the bump was still raised. Along w that, clear fluid couldve been oozing out as well but that could just be from opening it up.
I've been getting sores right in the corner of my mouth, where my lips meet. Though the cream I use for canker sores was getting rid of them, this week, it's not working. The sore is related to tx, not a big deal, but annoying. Any suggestions ?
It is on my lip but appears to be right where the dry portion of the lip meets the moist portion of the lip toward the inside of the top of the lip. The ulcer is white with a red surrounding and appears to only be 1 ulcer. It is also appx 1 - 2 cm wide pretty small. No other mouth lesions at this time. This also does not look typical of the other mouth ulcers I have had necessarily but is almost perfectly round.
