lip injection bruising

I experienced major bruising with my second injection. It started bruising about an hour afterwards, and by the next morning it was the size of an apple. Black and blue and angry looking bruise! I also inject into my abdomen. A nurse friend told me I might have hit a capillary, and my doctor saw it days later, and told me to keep an eye on it. It ultimately faded into just a big red mark. It never did hurt or anything, so I never felt in danger, but it was bizarre.

I got bruising around my injection spot a few times, especially towards the end. I never associated it with a particular 'batch' tho. Just thought that my blood was getting thinner (I found I would bruise easily in other places also) as my clotting times were probably getting longer. I think it's something to do with platelets. I would be more inclined to think it was longer on treatment rather than the batch of IFN or needles you have.

hi my 12 year old daughter woke up sunday morning with a ring of purple spots under her bottom lip and in between the lip and spots it is bruise like in colour.she has not banged her mouth at all and when she goes outside her bottom lip swells and turns blue.she has been seen by a pharmacist,nurse and doctor and all were completely baffled.anyone have any ideas?? she has no pain!

Until about 5 minutes ago I thought they were limited to red, tender spots and bruising but now I have found an area on my thigh that appears to have a large (3 inch?) knot deep under the skin. It doesnt hurt, Its not red, but it is pretty solid. Anyone had this issue before, think I should go see my GP, or just try to rub it out?

We have been told by drugs workers that injecting this is not good for veins, but am not sure what is causing the really bad bruising. I have had bruising before using heroin, but nothing like this. After just a few days of using my arms again (between 3-6 hits over 24 hours) my whole arms are badly bruised.

3 days ago I bit through my inner bottom lip - it didn't go all the way through but there is bruising on the outside of my lower lip. It was a big gash but i didn't go and get stitches straight away. 12hrs later I went to the clinic and they said they could not stitch the gash up because of tissue (not just a bump on the lip but actual tissue through the gap) protruding through the wound. They said the tissue would shrink within a few days and the lip would heal itself.

When I say it felt like I had scraped up against something I mean when I woke-up the next morning and noticed it, I don.t remember feeling anything that would of alarmed me that night?

2yr check up after kidney cancer so chest and abdomen. It is much better today.

ve been doing this for about a month now, and all I can do is take it one day at a time, I make sure not to wear elastic anywhere near the injection areas, I find my skin even more tender and bruising happens more often if I do. I hope this helps someone as knowing that there are others who share my pain helps me.

I've started using the pen needles that are extra short so I don't have to pinch the skin up since I really can't anymore. But I've started bruising where ever I inject and I think it has to do with being anemic... but it definitely doesn't harm the baby, there's so much between your tissue that gets injected and the baby that it's always safe to inject.

i just got a medi jet injector and on every injection i get a red dot and bleeding; on my thigh. i am using the injector A, which i assume has a smaller injection area. is there something i hsould know to help this?

This is in a completely different location from my initial outbreak. Also, I found what looks to be a pimple on my lip, very tiny, but what the heck? I tested negative for HSV-1. Is this HSV-2 on my lip? I haven't had an outbreak since my initial exposure almost 4 months ago. Could this be irritation from kissing? Please tell me why these red spots could be appearing? Is it some sort of vaginal bruising or I am breaking out again? I am so nervous and scared.

My understanding is that some people have more tendency to bruise than others at injection sites, and sometimes rubbing the area after injection to dissipate capillary injury helps. If the bruising is isolated only to the injection sites and you're not having any other symptoms an ER visit may not be necessary, but definitely run it by your docs first thing Monday morning, and get a your CBCs to see where your platelets are. Hopefully it's just an injection reaction and nothing more.

Bruising with SubQ injections may be caused by too shallow an injection. I'm guessing you are using the autoinjector. Try changing the depth setting you are using (I'd suggest deeper.

I called genetech for a member who was in Pakistan who had the same question. Take a cotton call hold it on the injection sight for a minute. That should take care of it.

I did have bruising on both knees and fluid was draw off of my right knee before the second injection could be given.

Where do you inject? I get bad bruising/site reaction when I inject in my thighs because I don't have much fat there. When I inject into abdominal fat (I have plenty) the reaction is much less and does not last long.

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have been taking 40mg once nightly injections of Lovenox into my abdomen. I've had minor bruising before, but the last two nights have left almost half dollar sized, almost black, MAJOR bruises. I'm not feeling bad, but I'm just afraid that there may be some type of infection or something? I've just recently started taking iron supplements, but I wouldn't think that would affect the bruising?

I am going to assume that you know all the injection tips of heat and ice and Tucks/witch hazel on the injection site to help with pain and swelling. But those are more for the lumps that form. I am trying to remember if I heard conversations about bruises - that is different. Are you using the autoinjector? If so, perhaps the settings are wrong (I would guess too shallow, but I'm no medical person.

Did you have more muscle cramps or spasms in your legs though from the injection area? I know an hour after my injection my muscles in my whole body twitch and spaz .
