Avatar m tn Speculating on the cost of placing an implant, even if this would be the proper approach, would be folly, because this might require a staged procedure, like the use of a skin expander prior to placement of a permanent implant. In addition to the cost of professional services, there is the cost of an implant (again, if appropriate) that would require custom design and manufacturing as well as facility and anesthesia charges.
Avatar m tn because the bulky area underneath my upper left lip, every time when I smile, that part of lip become thick and relative big when compare to the right side of my upper lip as the bulky surgical area underneath the lip push against the lip when I smile. will this be permanent? or it is too early to say now and bulkyness could reduce over time as time pass by and my smile will become normal? Thanks.
Avatar n tn He secured the chin implant to the titanium plates used on my jaw surgery which made me mad. Since he used those the chin implant isnt even, even with my real chin it sits up a tiny bit and its not centered. I never had a problem with my chin it was just short. I thought when a chin implant was placed that it was suppose to at least be even with your original chin? What do you secure it with if the person doesnt have plates from a prior surgery?
Avatar f tn Dr Zenn at Duke told me the first step of Diep will cost sixty thousand.. with tmy insurance paying eighty percent of what they think he should have charged. I have Mega Life and they do not pay well. They only pay a maximum of two thousand for ambulatory procedures. Would breast reductioin and lift by ambulatory? Would tissue expander placement be ambulatory. How much would that cost... a range? How much for the implant placement. Is it ambulatory as well?
Avatar m tn From the x-ray of my implant, I found that my implant is too close to tooth #9 and the bone in between my implant and tooth #9 not grow much to integrate with the implant. I could also see the implant through my front gum, the gray color show off. I deeply worried and began to consult with some oral surgeons and some implant specialist. When they see the x-ray, all their first reaction is: This implant is not good. So, I took a CT Scan to see the implant 3-dimension.

Avatar n tn Hi. I hope your mom's surgery goes well. When is it planned for? The problem with asking which is best is how do you define that? I think the 'best' outcome can often come when a surgeon is using what they are most comfortable and have the most experience with. Have you asked the surgeon which he uses and why he made that choice to go with that particular product? When you look them up, they've both had many successes as well as recalls and lawsuits.
Avatar n tn The complex through and through injury you sustained can be revised, with better lip symmetry. The cost of this procedure will vary in different regions of the country and will also depend on the actual complexity of the revision required. A consultation with a plastic surgeon will determine the likely success of the revision and its cost.
Avatar n tn It's been 2 years and 3 months since my chin implant surgery. I had a difficult time from the very beginning.I could not speak correctly, I felt a tightness and numbness in the chin area. I have a pocket inside my mouth which traps food particles when I eat. Sort of like a channel or canal that wasn't there before. I'm a able to speak a little better now but the numbness is still there. My bottom teeth seem to not be sitting on my jaw like they used to .
Avatar n tn hello, what is oral melanocytic macule and lentigo and do you much a laser lip surgery would cost?
Avatar n tn office to explain all your options for surgery and if you choose, the extra cost for this premium implant and it is your responsibility to listen and sign the consents and write the checks for this completely elective surgery. Apparently there was some lack of communication. Please take this issue up with the surgeon's office.

Avatar f tn I have no medical insurance and I have an agressive cataract in my right eye that has made me legally blind in that eye. Does anyone know what the range of actual cost of cataract surgery sans insurance payments is. It would be mono focal and only the one eye. Any information would be appreciated.
703897 tn?1248019974 It appears that your dentist did re-entry, tring to find out why you are suffering from intense post-op pain, which is a rare consequence of implant surgery. Traumatic trigeminal neuropathy associated with implant surgery usually presents with burning or electrical shocking pain quality, along with the inferior nerve supply, which involves lower right lip. I tend to believe what my colleague says, if he says there is no nerve issue, it's probably so.
Avatar f tn I had a dental implant in the mandible 6 months ago. After complaining of tingling sensations & numbness in the chin & lip, forward to where the implant is, the oral surgeon replaced it with a shorter one after one month. Another 5 months have passed, it has healed nicely & a crown has been attached by my dentist. The tingling is still there. When I touch my chin, my chin & lip tingle. After a routine cleaning & the crown, it seems a little bit worse.
222267 tn?1253302210 Titanium is the type of metal from which the implant is made. The implant is place into a hole in the bone which is sugically and purposefully created by the surgeon. Closure of oral wounds is usually done with local tissue flaps and in some cases a membrane may use as well as bone grafts. I hope this helps, but please understand that holes can occur anywhere in the palate and there are several anatomical spaces and vital structures that make a tremendous difference on the procedure.
Avatar n tn I know your are more concerned with the exact cost, so let me give you an idea. Each implant will cost about 2000 dollars. That is strictly for the implant. Bone grafts if needed (if you've lost bone) will be about 600 dollars each. This is only the implants. Then there is the restorative phase (a general dentist). For each implant, you will need a crown. About another 2000 to 4000 dollars. You are probably experiencing the shock and horror that I first experienced when I heard this.
Avatar f tn Has anybody had a tooth implant ? Could you tell me if it hurts? and what it's like? How long does it take ?
Avatar n tn I am actually going to a pain center next week for an assessment to see if I could try that or a pain pump implant, but due to the cost factor (back to our medical system) I think they may say they will want to see if surgery will be offered to me. (I think this, because it was the response I got from a different pain center.
