Avatar f tn I had a dental implant in the mandible 6 months ago. After complaining of tingling sensations & numbness in the chin & lip, forward to where the implant is, the oral surgeon replaced it with a shorter one after one month. Another 5 months have passed, it has healed nicely & a crown has been attached by my dentist. The tingling is still there. When I touch my chin, my chin & lip tingle. After a routine cleaning & the crown, it seems a little bit worse.
Avatar n tn I have had one implants removed due to terrible pain from the implant sticking into my lower lip. Now the left side of my chin and lower lip is so painful I leave my dentures out most of the time. I keep them in while at work, but I'm in misery all day. There is severe pain in my upper gums at night. I sleep with my head elevated to an almost sitting position. My dentist and oral surgeon don't have any suggestions. Is there anything I can do to relieve the discomfort?
Avatar f tn Thank you Scottma for your help. I went to an oral surgeon a second opinion and he took several xrays. He showed me xrays and explained that the implant had entered an area of many nerves. He told me to have it removed immediately and even called the dentist that put the implant in. I then went and saw the dentist that put in the implant and he also took xrays.
Avatar m tn How do I find an experienced doctor/dentist in my area to consult regarding dental implant removal? I have two dental implants in place of my two front teeth. One was placed 8 years ago and one was placed 2 years ago. I had surgery for peri implantitis on the most recent implant in June 2013. I have consistently experienced a lot of pain around this implant. The pain resolved briefly after the surgery in June, but is now back in full force.
Avatar m tn because the bulky area underneath my upper left lip, every time when I smile, that part of lip become thick and relative big when compare to the right side of my upper lip as the bulky surgical area underneath the lip push against the lip when I smile. will this be permanent? or it is too early to say now and bulkyness could reduce over time as time pass by and my smile will become normal? Thanks.

Avatar m tn A couple days later I called my oral surgeon and told him that my left chin and lower lip are numb. He asked me to come to the office to back out the implant a millimeter or two because it might be touching a nerve. On 5/23 the oral surgeon backed out implants #31 and #29. He did tell me that he suspected that implant #29 was possibly compressing a nerve area. Today is 5/30 and the numbness has not gone. Area around tooth #28, #27 and # 26 is very numb (lower lip and chin only).
Avatar f tn Now I have removed the implant. So far, I do not know the effect of its removal, but will know within a week. Since many red scratches are in the legs and would take time to know whether rashes have stopped coming back. But at this point, I am hoping so.
Avatar n tn I had a chin implant placed exactly one year ago following 2 surgeries to bring my lower jaw forward. My chin since the first surgery has always been numb in spots but I always got my huge smile back. Following the chin implant I do not have as big of a smile. He secured the chin implant to the titanium plates used on my jaw surgery which made me mad. Since he used those the chin implant isnt even, even with my real chin it sits up a tiny bit and its not centered.
Avatar f tn The problem with surgery for capsule contracture associated with breast implants, is that it is impossible to predict the success of the procedure. In many cases, removal or partial removal of the scar tissue with or without implant repositioning, will result in soft symmetrical breasts. However, there is a real risk that capsule formation will recur. Removal of the implants will completely eliminate the problem since the scar tissue is reacting to the implants.
7535508 tn?1391720305 Ive been readin online and it says to effectivly switch from implant to nuvaring it needs to be in for 7 days before implant removal. So question is do you think its a high possibility that I might be pregnant? I take the ring out this sat so I want to wait a few days after that to test. I just feel misserable!
Avatar n tn The surrounding soft tissue was submitted for histological analy-sis, which revealed a chronic inflammatory response with concomitant fibrosis around all the implants as well as for-eign body giant cell reaction around two implants. Following implant removal the patient recuperated well and the soft and hard tissue healed satisfactorily. ref:www.up.ac.za/dspace/bitstream/2263/4623/1/DuPreez_Implant(2007).
Avatar n tn clock shape and they also advice me to remove implant as soon as possible so i want to know what will be the shape and condition after implant removal
Avatar f tn I had the implant put in two days ago, and although I can feel it in my arm and all the normal symptoms are there, is it possible to knock it so that it breaks in your arm? I'm terrified that I'll snap it, and I wondered if it's actually possible?
Avatar f tn The relationship would be even more controversial if you had gel implants. Removal of the saline implant can be performed with little risk under local anesthesia. the surgery is best performed after your other medical issues are resolved and you have clearance from your cardiologist. Recovery from explanatation can be quite easy if the implant are removed without performing a capsulectomy (my recommendation) but you need to be seen and evaluated by a plastic surgeon in the meantime.
Avatar f tn You could be preggo if your last period was in December. Have your periods been irregular usually since the removal of the implant? If the cramping doesn't lead to your period & you're concerned do a hpt. Best of luck!

Avatar n tn I had a chin implant with face lift 3 weeks ago and over the last 10 days have developed a deep disfiguring dent to the left of my chin. There is a very slight dent on the other side of my chin also. My son says "Mum you look weird, it's very off-putting - it looks as though your bone has caved in!" I feel my life is ruined if this cannot be sorted, I am walking around with a scarf covering my chin and don't want to speak to anyone. My surgeon wants to remove the implant!
Avatar n tn Thank you Dr for your answer. My Dr said it was the valve of the implant, but now the pain is more often and my whole breast is getting hard. The filling of the other breast is soft and it doesn't hurt. Dr. I would like to know if a saline implant can change from soft to hard and what causes the pain. Is this reason for removal?
