Avatar m tn last question, how much does a corneal transplatation cost there?
Avatar n tn The first few days, when I moved them, lines would appear and they looked like they lost shape a bit on the top lip. They look better now, and lines went away, but they're still not the same as they were before. Do you think I have I lost some collagen or elasticity? Could that happen to someone my age? (I'm 18.) I know it sounds funny that I think it might have been what I did, but they were fine before I did that.
Avatar f tn Surgery can’t be done on scar tissue due to the fact that tissue regrowth on a scar isn’t stable enough for sutures (lack of collagen) so, to keep the sutures in place, it would be necessary to go deeper or use tissue surrounding the scar. This would cause the scar on your lip to be larger, or more noticeable, than the existing one and the skin might grow in as a slightly different color. is that true doctor?
Avatar m tn A few years ago I was swimming in a crowded pool and got elbowed in the face, which caused one of my teeth to puncture my lip. Ever since, I have this condensed ball in my lip that sort of has a white stripe. I recently got fed up with it, and was wondering if there is a way to get rid of it?
Avatar n tn When i was like, 4-5 a dog bit me on the lip and kinda ripped it a little and left a scar. It looks like a bump on my lip and then theres a little line right above my lip from it. i really want it to go away! Im 14 now and it still hasnt gone away. Avatar n tn The complex through and through injury you sustained can be revised, with better lip symmetry. The cost of this procedure will vary in different regions of the country and will also depend on the actual complexity of the revision required. A consultation with a plastic surgeon will determine the likely success of the revision and its cost.
Avatar f tn I had an angioma (red spot) removed from above my upper lip. They used a needle to cauterize the spot which was supposed to make it go away. It took a number of injections over several visits before the redness seemed to respond and fade a bit. But in it's place, I now have a triangular shaped divet about the size of the head of a pin where the skin is missing and no longer flush with the rest of my skin above my top lip.
Avatar f tn I am a 61 yr old female who recently developed deep lip and mouth lines over the last couple of years. I am a non smoker but I do facial exercises which may cause me to purse my lips more. Is there anything I can do to soften these lines or make them disappear. I am not consistant with my moisturizers so need to keep at that better than I have been. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I had metacril injections two weeks ago in Costa Rica to my lips and nasalabial folds. The metacril in the bottom lip has now turned into hard bumps, which I think was the result of going and having my teeth whitened afterwards and the Zoom laser hitting that area so long. Has anyone else had experience with metacril? Any recommended plastic surgeons in the Dallas area I can go to and follow up with this issue? Thanks!
Avatar n tn and i got three stitches on the chin beacuse of this my chin and lower lip got dislocated slightly .how can it be brought back to original position .
1276940 tn?1564515084 Hello.....I was dx with Pars Planitis (both eyes) back in Sept of 2015. I was also dx with Sjogren's Syndrome (via lip biopsy) on 4/22/16. I have not yet started on any medications for SS. My next Rheumy appt is 5/6 and I am assuming I will be started on meds then (currently experiencing CHRONIC dry mouth, fatigue, muscle/joint aches). I have asked several questions before about PP.....what I am curious about now is this.......I have read that SS is an inflammatory illness.
Avatar n tn hello, what is oral melanocytic macule and lentigo and do you much a laser lip surgery would cost?
638291 tn?1233060603 I would like to find out if it's ok to take liquid collagen and what are the benefits Than you
Avatar f tn Hi. Which particular "chemosensitivity test" are you referring to? There is no single laboratory procedure which can test for the sensitivity to chemotherapy of all types of tumors. In breast cancer, there's the Estrogen Receptor (ER) and Progesterone Receptor (PR) assays to determine sensitivity to hormonal treatment. There's also the HER-2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) assay for determining sensitivity to Trastuzumab.
89592 tn?1391274422 Have your doctor look into TNF-a (stimulating collagen deposition) and Interleukin-6( inhibiting collagen degradation) as possible causative agents in this process. Ref. PMID: 7770462 This suspicion is consistent with CVDs profiles. In the meanwhile, should you be interested to look at holistic approaches to inflammatory processes, let me know. Wish you well!
Avatar m tn t have insurance, call your local health department and ask what your local no cost/low cost options are for being seen. also try just calling your dentist - oftentimes they'll take a look at it and if they are nice enough, won't even charge you for it.
Avatar m tn The reason that collagen supplements do not work as desired by us is that the collagen found in collagen supplements and collagen pills is unable to assimilate itself in the complex matrix of collagen that is present in our body. The only problem with liquid collagen and collagen supplements is that they are all synthetic in nature. Therefore they do not mix too well with the pure collagen that has all the benefits Keep in mind that pure collagen can only be produced naturally by the body.
Avatar m tn The other day I decided to research a bit on hbv and collagen and it turns out that there is a lot of research about other types of collagen (there is at least 16 types of collagen) that can potentially cure chirrhosis or even lead to liver injury, but I couldnt fine anything related to HBV and collagen type 1&3. Very confusing ....but like i said above, there are lots of different types of collagen and they each can influence your liver in a different way.
Avatar n tn I was on Renova for a few years, then Tazarotene, but now am on generic Retin-A 0.01% for cost reasons. My other meds are for mood, allergy, hypothyrhoid, cholesterol, and hormone-replacement therapy. My skin is lovely except for enlarged pores on my nose and flakes around my nostrils. I can pull them off one at a time with tweezers, but it's very time consuming. I used some Biore pore strips, but then my nose felt raw.
Avatar n tn 3) Worst case scenario if a sugical procedure is required (like diskotectomy, not really sure about the spelling), what is the average cost for such a procedure in the US. Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks & Regards This discussion is related to Surgical Risks L5-S1 Herniated Disk.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, this is interesting, if I mix collagen (one tablespoon), glutamine (one teaspoon) and psyllium husk (2 to 4 tablespoons), and take it every day, it really helps lower my condition. As you know collagen and glutamine both heal wounds in the gut. The digestive track can be 9 meters long so no doctor in the history of medicine has ever looked through the entire gut lining of a living human.
752769 tn?1233541364 My concern here is I kissed a man kinda heavy kissing, The very next day my lip felt a little funny then exactly 4 days after my lip was not only feeling okward tingling, and my upper top lip started to look a bit swelled and almost like cracked looking, from the mid center area going almost inside my inner lip ok so it was very uncomfortable then finally what looked like a cold sore appeared on the top of my upper lip then as that healed i had one just to the right of the first one and then a
Avatar f tn Cheilitis glandularis affects the lower lip almost exclusively, although it has been reported to affect the upper lip. It presents as black marks due to puncta of the salivary gland swelling. Then viscous clear secretions and crusting may be there. I suggest you to consult a good dermatologist and get a culture sensitivity of the fluid sample from lip and biopsy of the lip done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I did not think much of it at first but its bothering me now. I have a bump inside my lower lip..it looks as if its filled with some clear liquid..i used to just pop it with a needle or just bite it until it pops then clean it up...i have noo idea what it is and I am starting to worry about it. Avatar f tn ve ever heard of mederma for scars that is basically what it is expect it cost 20-25 $ a tube and vitamin e is fairly cheap ... I used it on a scar I had from getting 9 stitches snd its faded significantly ... I plan to use it on my tummy after my baby boy gets here ...
Avatar m tn These results were confirmed both by liver histology and by quantitative measurement of hepatic hydroxyproline content, a marker of liver collagen deposition. Accordingly, inhibition of proliferation, reduced collagen deposition, and type 1 collagen expression were observed in activated HSC-T6 cells following GT treatment.
Avatar n tn Then (first time this happened) I noticed a white blister on the inside of my lip. I had to pull my lip down to see it. The only reason I did was because my lip felt like a fat lip. Went to the doctor and he took bloodwork and prescribed me more bloodwork and had me schedule an appt with an allergist. The doctor called and said my bloodwork came back ANA positive and scheduled an appt with a dermatologist for me. That was over a week ago.
Avatar n tn Laser therapy for ingrown hairs may cost a bit more. Here are some estimated costs I have found for you. You may check on the url's for more information. Some of these prices were dated about two years ago. However, prices depend on the areas involved. These are prices for hair removal therapy, not necessarily for cases of ingrown hairs only. Hair removal laser surgery is costlier than other methods.
225237 tn?1333138999 fatigue, allergies, thinning of skin through loss of fat and collagen which is usually due to aging, smoking or chronic alcohol use, physical and emotional stress, etc. (just to name a few lol). Cold compresses or used tea bags can help, extra sleep, concealer and make-ups, rinsing your sinuses, or the dermatologist can prescribe something if it is real bad and just keeps getting worse. Dark circles are also hereditary. I also have them and some days they are much worse than others.
