Im 37 years old and just had my first baseline mammogram in preparation for breast augmentation surgery. I am scheduled for a stereotactic biopsy for an area of calcifications that were found in my right breast. Two years ago I had augmentation of my jaw/chin done by a plastic surgeon using Hydroxyapatite. The goal was to widen my jaw by adding volume at the start of the jawline. Additionally, volume was going to be added to my chin to widen it. Well, instead of adding volume right the start of my jaw, the surgeon chose to add a large blob of Hydroxyapatite midway long my jaw and then blend it forward towards the chin.
Well I was hoping that them knowing that i did have an ab, and knowing nothing was left behind, and it will be seven weeks post-op. But i'm just afraid that my pre-testing will come back neg. but i guess time will tell. the nurse at the plastic surgeons office also said that if the hcg levels still showed up that they could still do another test the day before my surgery again. So if they are low enough i'm guessing they will still go on with the surgery?

I am writing this e-mail to ask for your help and advice.
I have a breast augmentation scheduled for Tuesday. Friday I got the results from my mammogram and they detected calcifications on my left breast that were not there 2 years ago. They would like me to have a follow up mammogram in 6 months. Both my breast surgeon and GYN have talked on the phone to each other and the likelihood of this being anything other than benign is very low.

I am in the "asking questions" stage before seeing a plastic surgeon as I am considering breast implants to enlarge a "barely A" to a "C" cup. I am wondering if cost of implants has anything to do with outcome. One nurse told me about tissue expanders before the actual implant will give a better look, any truth to this? Also, since the shell of the implant is silicone any reason to not choose silicone fill?
t heard anything for that week, I went ahead with my scheduled breast augmentation. A few days after my augmentation I get a voicemail from my doctor's office stating they were calling to schedule my mammogram. I thought this was a mistake since I had had it done already. Well after a couple of calls and playing phone tag, I finally speak with the woman and she states that I need to come back to do a compression view and possibly an ultrasound.
Some stiching was done and I healed well. Two months ago I had surgery to remove a small cyst that had grown on the lip - one year after the accident. The srugery has left me with a hard lunp on my upper lip. my smile is very uneven and I am distressed.
Will it go away by itself, or can i have the lump removed surgically? where should I go for help?

I had a breast reduction 1 1/2 years ago and I have not yet healed fully. I continue to go to the plastic surgeon and I have constant itching and swelling around my scars. I always wear Victoria Secret bras and I am wondering if this has anything to do with my present healing. I will ask my physician next week when I go see him for my 8 wk check.
What do you think?
I have a plastic surgeon who is more than happy to do botox and has worked w/my hep doc on a surgery I had 3 weeks ago (breast -NOT augmentation!) I'm going to have to wait until after tx w/hep doc permission.

I also had a surgery to my lower lip 3 weeks ago. I had an accident 20 years ago, fell and bit through my lip. I had a couple of stitches at the time and after, developped a large hard lump on my lip. I had it "removed" 8 years ago but there was still some bump left.
So 3 weeks ago, I decided to do it again and for the last time. It looks flat in front of my lip and this is good BUT there is a lot of hard tissue inside the lip and some hard swelling in the inner lip.
Most experienced plastic surgeons remove silicone gel filled implants. Make sure they remove the capsule also.

I had my breast augmentation revision surgery a little over 4 weeks ago. At the 4-week mark, I put a very thin layer of aquaphor along my incision. The next morning I woke up with a blood stain on the gauze. In the next couple of days, whenever I lay down, and my bra irritated the incision line I suppose, then I bled... it soaked through the gauze. This happened two times. In between, the bleeding will stop.

With time, there may be a reduction in appearance of scar and more over at such a young age, it is not advisable to opt for plastic surgery if the presenting symptom is only cosmetic in nature. After a few years, you can consult a plastic surgeon and discuss the treatment options with him.
